So in the MCU, Spider-Man wishes he could be like the Avengers But in the Marvel Games Universe, the Avengers wish they could be like Spider-Man Makes sense
Idk man? I mean I guess it’s bad in a sense that it’s repetitive and grindy. I do however have faith that the performance will get a lot better. I hope it does cuz I’m excited to see where this game will go in the future. I just. Hope. To. God. That these fixes won’t be behind a pay wall. As a Pokémon player watching my favorite franchise off itself over time I wish we had REMOTELY close to the amount of work put in this game as of recently. If Pokemon Sword/Shield has a 9.3/10 by IGN, a game that LITERALLY gave its fixes out behind a $30 paywall, but this game has a 6.9/10 that just launched, then I don’t think the hate on this game is fair.
@@ultrascarlet5275 the micro transactions for this are not bad as they are needed they need those to keep the game on the life service so it makes sense atleast it's not like ea where you need the transactions to keep the game at a steady pace in multiplayer
I'm seeing the usual excuses of ode the game always comes out broken and all that stuff to patch it eventually! First impressions are everything with me even if I see a bug or so it said something when I'm playing games like Resident Evil 3 remake, Nioh 2, and Final Fantasy 7 remake and you want to know all those have in common I barely ran into a freeze much less a bug while playing the game! If I did run into it I never ran into it again after that one annoying time! I usually ended up getting patches that I didn't even know needed to be in the game! I played in completed Resident Evil 3 and I still keep getting patches every time I cut on my PS4 ever so often! That's how I usually am surprised someone but I enjoy that because if I ever delete the game and can no longer get on the internet to get patches then I know the game will at least f****** work properly! This live service or will improve it over time is garbage if I'm giving you $60 eventually $70 I'd best get the game at 95% or more working! The only time I expect some issues are games that were originally on the PC that got ported like divinity Original Sin or pillars of Eternity you know games that were made for PC! I'll judge those separately but those only ones I expect at least issues not too many issues to make an excuse but issues none the last! None of this garbage coming from a AAA company! In this is even worse because this is coming from Square Enix seeing help on Fantasy 7 remake like I just said play this game had no excuse! I have to wonder if this is really Square Enix fault completely or it's slightly their fault and this is largely Crystal Dynamics! I no longer accept the excuse anymore of all will eventually get better or oh it'll be patched out know if it wasn't working from the start as shown in the trailers and all the demos they showed then that means they cut corners or they did what happened with Watch Dogs you know the infamous E3 mode! They dumped it down and everything that was originally shown was meant for a computer and they had no confidence that those Graphics will work for a console! These people really need to stop simping the developers and the producers don't give a f*** about them and will continue to exploit because they use idiots like them!
If a games not gonna be enjoyable until later on when the developers finally kick their shit into gear then it wasn’t worth my time in the first place and with how bad content is in this game for the sake of micro transactions then even more so
@@gamerguy6990 I said it back when they used "that excuse" back with "Final Fantasy XIII!" A Game only has the first hour to wow me! If it fail to do so then "it get's dropped!" You have to have "a VERY interesting story" and decent (at least "average") enough gameplay otherwise in this age of "RU-vid" I will just look for "cut-scene" vids! Got too many games in my collective library to waste "trying to make a game good!" "Make your own entertainment" only applies to games that "were meant for that and you were told about from the start/before purchase" or the game was good on it's own and your "handicapping" yourself (Like playing Fallen Order without "using the force") for entertainment! If that was "never what I just described" (Not told to you before purchase/from the start) then buddy......"you made yourself a bad game!" because I didn't buy something to "make my own entertainment" I bought it because "you are GIVING ME ENTERTAINMENT!" If I wanted that from the start I would buy "those types of games!" (Endgame content is exactly that! It's meant to be you getting the same delicious meal you just had! But it's made with interesting mixes of "Spices and new ingredients" to make it "Even greater" then what you had before! Being good or bad is up to how you take to it! But one thing is clear that if it's bad but you loved the "initial Meal" you can always go back to it (restart and play anew!) But then you'll likely wait till you've become "unfamiliar with it" before you try it again. But you have to have enjoyed the meal before you even want anything more to do with it! (No point in trying other Hamburger variants if you didn't like the Normal Hamburger). Idiots never learn that if you excuse these's poor actions with the "it get's better later on!" You'll only encourage them to get more and more lazy till "it get's better at the 40 min mark becomes "TWO HOURS IN!" because they know you'll defend their garbage! So why get better if mediocrity is going to be accepted anyway!)
"I just started to wish this was an Iron Man game." They already made a looter-shooter Iron Man game that tried to ape Destiny. It came out last year and they called it "Anthem."
Insomniac is owned by Sony. Sony owns Spiderman and all affiliated characters. They can't do Disney's shitty ass Marvel stuff because it would be a breach of contract and a Playstation exclusive.
I lost interest upon it being announced. With a mixture of things like “marvel, superheroes, Disney, games as a service, loot, cosmetics, micro transactions, and avengers” all thrown into a pot and mixed up, you’re guaranteed a nice steaming brew of money making mediocrity when it’s finished cooking (or half cooked I should say). Super-meh to the rescue.
Fair point, It was made by a AAA studio, but it had a lower budget than what most people would consider a AAA release (mostly because the graphics weren't trying to look realistic).
I stopped buying games new when I spent damn near $100+ on delux editions of Dragon Age: Inquistion & Shadow of Mordor when they dropped only to find the fckn things unplayable on my (at the time) PS3. Now I just wait a year or so until the GOTY or whatever version drops with all the DLC, bug fixes etc & pay half price.
As long as people keep paying for sub par releases, game developers will keep releasing them. Why rush development when you can still receive full price and iron out the kinks sometimes even YEARS after release?
I have a big... BIG... BIIIIGGGGG... muscles!!! HAHAHA!!! What did you think I was going for? That's so DIRTY of you! GAGAGAGA!!! I am the funniest RU-vidr ever! Maybe that's the reason why I have TWO (!!!) HOT (!) GIRLFRIENDS. Thanks for being alive, dear juli
I think we need a term for this: "Offensively competent." That slight feeling of irritation or even anger felt when a game with a lot of potential is playable but half-assed. It doesn't have any fatal flaws, and it delivers on its basic promises, but the tangible lack of effort coupled with the naked cynicism of a few corporate-mandated design choices make you kind of hate it.
Eh, I wouldn't say that's competent. Any competent game can at least have the player say that it's a worth while experience. Alan Wake's American Nightmare would be more close to that. Small scale, not ground breaking, but generally enjoyable even if there's better games out there. Games like this are more what I'd call "offensively safe products". Something that is clearly made just because it's easily marketable. It's made to sell well, not to play well, and it's filled with systems designed to keep the player invested more through psychological tricks that make the game akin to a Skinner box rather than making the moment to moment gameplay or story entertaining enough to hold the player's attention. It's too flawed to be considered competent but not flawed enough for people to get all that upset over.
I feel bad for the voice actor's, they all genuinely have great range but it seems like they were told to just do the voice they always do/ the voice they're best known for
@@m4rshm3llo91 Except it didn't suck, and I didn't even like it that much, but it's still a good game. This is just a bad game in almost every aspect, Spiderman had one issue and that was end game content.
M4RSHM3LLO just to say it. I think Spider-Man was a great game that I actually did every trophy. It had a great story and a satisfying feeling when you do beat it. As much as I want to respect your opinion, I have to disprove it by saying avengers is not playable, so much so that it lags a lot.
You can feel how much time and money and effort went into modeling these huge, sprawling, detail-filled environments of...industrial buildings in empty canyons. It's the kind of game meant to look very cutting-edge in trailers, but when you actually play it, it looks and feels completely lifeless. And despite how many different settings there are, literally all of them look the same, just textures of metal grating on top of concrete on top of, like, nylon tarp. And it's designed to look so lifelike and real that it feels both empty and claustrophobic at the same time. This is the ugliest and most visually polished game I've ever looked at.
So stupid. Imagine if they put that energy into actually creating a Marvel universe instead of fucking Aim hallways. Couldn't even give Loki a character model but we can make some ugly ass forest & desert biomes. Gtfo Crystal Dynamics.
Travis Willingham is the voice actor of Thor in many things, most notably the Lego games and the Disney cartoons, and he does a pretty good job in those. His performance in those make him sound like a believable Thor but in this game he just felt like he wasn't directed, like he wasn't told to put the effort in like the others.
2018: Man, Kratos' axe is so much fun to use! That axe throw and recall is so damn satisfying, I can only imagine what it'd be like if a developer actually let us play as Thor with Mjolnir! It'd be absolutely INCREDIBLE!! Square Enix: "hold my--" *Drops beer bottle and slips on the floor, sending broken glass and Natty Ice into everyone's eyes
Iron Man flies slow asf in the game, he's supposed to fly at massively hypersonic speeds but in the game its so slow that it becomes frustrating after a while. Also, Iron Man/Hulk/Thor's combat attacks don't do as much damage as they should, they're supposed to be Class 100 characters which is the highest tier in Marvel Strength scale yet somehow their combat attacks do damage on the same level as Captain America & Black Widow which doesn't make any sense.
To be fair, their speed is slowed down so you can still accurately shoot targets while flying. Also, if you notice all heroes have the same travel speed. I imagine they did this so its easier for everyone to stay together when playing multiplayer.
Um there speed is slowed down because.. really are you that dumb if there speed was lighting fast they can get across the map in a split second so they had to slow it down my God I can't take anyone seriously anymore😅😅
I had a sneaking suspicion this game was gona suck even when it was announced. After seeing the first gameplay reveal I knew for sure I wasn’t gona get it.
I think things look good visually, but why does everyone’s attacks look so damn weak?? None of the adds are getting wrecked, smashed or blown away, adds just get knocked of balance repeatedly until they die😂getting hit by different avengers but they don’t even fall down😂
I can give Black Widow a pass cuz even tho she's a super spy she's still human. Hell I'll even go as far and cut Cap some slack cuz he's still human at the end of the day. But as for the rest of the avengers that actually have super strength THEY SHOULD BE CLAPPING EVERY BASIC ADD IN THE GAME MINUS HEAVIES AND MINI BOSSES... but what do I know? 🤷🏿♂️
The visuals to me just look passable. I hate when games try to copy mcu artstyle, it just doesn’t translate. It blows my mind that marvel vs Capcom 3 represents these characters so much better than this modern day triple a game that has a 10 hour campaign. And I agree, they attack like they have noodle arms, and iron man and Thor just slowly float around. This is by far the most disappointing game in years.
It’s an RPG they gotta have those damage numbers and powers mean something to encourage building up gears and stats. If it were your standard single player game like Spidey PS4 I’d agree that Hulk and Thor should’ve been stronger, but in this case they gotta take account of those said elements. One shotting everyone wouldn’t feel much like an RPG despite not feeling right with the characters. Now if you’re talking about the impact and feel of the characters’ attacks itself then that’s a whole other story
This is why I set the game to the easiest difficulty. Especially when you level up, you can decimate everyone on the screen very quickly. I don't like the fact that I'm playing on easy, but it makes you feel the most like a superhero
Yung Jeezy I felt the same way when I went through Asylum and City again on my One X but man do they feel so good to play again. Arkham City holds up so damn well
This just makes me care even MORE about Spider Man: Miles Morales. Hopefully it's as good as 2018. Edit: also, Future Fight had better skins than this game.
Nah, if they're gonna go with the grindy loot route akin to Diablo then they need to remake Marvel Heroes. Which I would be completely in favor of so long as they keep the cash shop under control and don't f up the core game.
They should remaster all three of the games for Playstation and Xbox. Just give the first two a major graphical overhaul, and tweak mua3's art style so that it doesn't look like a mobile game, while also keeping that cel shaded look
Dude- it’s a game are we literally going to have Hulk immortal? No damage done to him? Marvel Ultimate Alliance had Hulk get bodied by weak robots, seriously it’s stupid to complain about.
@@baldhead7759 the fact that a normal human can make him flinch is very out of character, his charge moves get interrupted by a simple punch. They made games in the past better than this.
Green Hill Pilgrim Because that’s for balancing purposes, Hulk isn’t suppose to be invincible in game he’ll need to be hit or interrupted by supers to not make him OP and balanced for all characters in game. Again it is silly to complain about a mechanic that helps balance it, do you want Hulk to be this invincible tank with no weaknesses and all God Like? Because that’s not how it’s suppose to be done AT ALL.
@@baldhead7759 There are sillier things to complain about. And there are more creative ways to balance the game especially when you're making hulk playable
Kirbo they were probably banking off the fact that the MCU was really popular to get people to buy the games. It explains why the designs feels pretty MCU inspired.
as a DC fan, i was hoping you could give hulk the clap smash for range attacks or you stump the floor with your foot and create a shockwave or if you could go worldbreaker hulk or maybe channel a super move and throw gema raids to enemies around you.
@Straight Busta did the Gen Z kids hurt your feelings? You’re part of the problem who loves to insult every generation just because they did or like something you probably hate you. People like you shouldn’t exist in the society
I’ve played the first last of us since 2017 and still play daily on the multilayer and was so pissed at what they did in the second game. But I gave it a chance and it was good up into Abby I have only played the story twice then after that messed around with Ellie they did Abbys story so bad.
"I was really trying to like it..." god i wish that didn't remind me of Anthem, this sounds like it should've just been an Iron Man game, but imagine if this was divided into 5 or 6 different games all with different playstyles, but all with an interconnected story. Imagine a black widow dishonor-like game wtf enix or disney or who ever messed with this
Oh yea like they all had different story so it would be like playing mini games for each character you would learn there back story or what they did the all get back to getter and you team up with your friends in story mode to fight the final boss
And to be honest I kinda didn’t want ms marvel in the game I wish we could just play the Original avengers backstory and see how they got where they are but I guess that would be boring
Zack V yea I’m not saying I hate her in general I’m just saying she was the center of attention most of the time even tho the games called avengers but I wouldn’t mine playing a game all about her
And you know what's the funniest thing about that? They can sell the same fucking main story 6 times and people would be super happy to buy them 6 times! How the fuck they screw making money up. I thoughts that's their only goal.
The start of the story feels like an intro of an mmo. An entire city of people gaining super powers due to an accident, while gathering them to fight a greater evil. I feel like the game could’ve been a good mmo, instead of a some weird brawler hybrid.
Avengers has: Like 6 unique characters LEGO Marvel Superhero’s had: Large open world Tons of characters A fun and unique story A sense of humor Spider-Man for everyone *REGARDLESS OF CONSOLE* after the first level Multiplayer everywhere No micro transactions
Wait....Hulk and Thor, the 2 "heavy weight" in the avengers (in the movies at least) are the most boring characters in a game about beating people and smashing stuff? That is honestly impressive.
@@canso3732 I thought about it for a moment and i can see how Hulk could feel flat, after all his entire power is being insanely strong (and fast) so if you put him in a small arena like that it can feel a bit weak (unless his punches do insane damage). But Thor has no excuses, he can fly, use\throw the hammer, use lightning...he should feel like a super badass kratos
Me: I wish they would have done what PS4 Spider-Man did in its game. People: In which way, the combat, the upgrades, the skins, or how the characters play? Me: Yes
truth be told, I liked spiderman ps4 a lot, but the upgrades felt really hollow there, not a single upgrade really makes you experiment new strategies, look at fight from a different perspective or change your playstyle throughout the campaign, I think one improvement the sequel should make it's to make upgrades more incisive. Like DMC, which has phenomenal upgrades.
@@zangbang9886 The way I see it, they basically let you play Spider-Man however you want to. If you want to use certain upgrades all the time, you can, but you don't have to. I think it was about freedom. Although I see what you said as valid criticism, so idk lol
I wish they would have done what PS2 spider man 2 did, put a bunch of different villains hidden around the world for you to find and kill, instead of just repeating the same 3 or 4 ones for a different piece of loot.
I feel like the key to making a superhero game good is to make the player feel overpowered and at the same time, very vulnerable. Which is why Spiderman and Batman works exceedingly well. A Black Widow game could be fun and have some nuance, seeing as she is a spy.
i hate it when supermassive studio put hallucination shit in their dark anthology games... both man of medan and little hope are hallucination shit at the end, and even the other characters(except vince and andrew) in little hope wasnt real... its really disappointing to me
After playing this game a bit more, i have decided to rename this game robot punching simulator. I tired to play the new DLC but had not motivation to finish it. Go buy the LEGO marvel collection instead.
The characters look like they ordered the actors from the movie off Wish. It's like they cast the stuntmen in the roles after the actual actors walked off contract renegotiations and thought "... yep that's good. Nobody will notice."
Hopefully is some studio does get the green light to make an Iron Man game like the Spider-Man game! They take all the good s*** that he described with Iron Man in this game and they use that as a jumping point to further improve it excavation boring hell I'd say the same for a Captain America game just no more of this RPG mechanic garbage! I've started to notice it exist just so they can get you the by time-savers at least Activision was being truthful with the Assassin's Creed Odyssey excavation point they say they ain't going to have something like that but then they have something like that they just avoid using actual Time Savers but leave in the whole drag and annoying grinding! I prefer unlockable stuff like in the Spider-Man and Batman games! And even with the Arkham games The Experience bar annoyed me a bit! I was never annoyed when they didn't start increasing the required experience points and just had it add needing a hundred for each level up which made doing side content a way to get some stuff early before the point where if you just ignore all the side stuff you would get it normally decide stuff is stuff you can have fun enjoying doing them and unlock something that would make the next main story beat interesting to say the least when you replay and decide to unlock something you didn't have the previous time and see how the fight would go! Just as long as they don't do annoying padding de dulce and games like the mentioned! Batman Arkham didn't have a problem until City and Knight decide to go crazy with the Riddler trophies for example
If you have vr I here the iron man game for ps4 is pretty good although I haven’t gotten to it myself. Obviously a very different game from Spider-Man though
@@paulman34340 Square Enix has a licensing deal with Disney. They're the only ones who can play around with the non-Spiderman Marvel characters. Even Namco's license is only as far as making a Marvel vs Capcom game.
I especially like how you can imbue your strikes with lightning to make them feel stronger. I usually used Mjolnir and punches and kicks in tandem. I throw the hammer at enemies, I lightning-punch others while also damaging the ones I have pinned with the hammer.
Ysil La I don't think it's sarcasm since I literally forgot about it's existence and I never really see any ads for this game also the only reason why I know about the game two weeks before it's release is because my friends were talking about it
the thing that is annoying to me is while some of the characters have diverse moves, the animations are all stiff and feel the same. In games like spiderman ps4 the animations are fluid and you FEEL like your playing as spider man, in this game you FEEL like your playing a generic 3d combat game with characters that LOOK like the avengers, its so stiff and clunky
That’s why the Spidey vs. Vulture and Electro fight is my favorite one in that entire game. The other bosses are equally fun to play, but Vulture and Electro literally force you to fight in the air. You actually get to use what you learned without being constantly interrupted. And the air combat actually feels like air combat. In this game, it’s basically ground combat with flight added.
Saving me money one Cosmonaut Quickie at a time. I was excited at first, but now I’m kind of indifferent to this one. Hopefully Gotham Knights turns out better
@Bacons Strip i think the game is around 10-15 hours long, and i feel like there will probably be some cool collectibles and maybe a few side missions to make it longer.
I was one of those people who tried to get into Destiny for the lore because it was advertised that way but my friends kept encouraging me to just run past the story stuff anyway. At launch the story was awful, you might as well just watch Bright, it's around the same quality. Not to mention all the cool stuff in trailers that never made it into the game.
Mitch Williamson I personally disagree with it being anti-consumer, especially in the last year or so. I think it’s gotten a hell of a lot better than Destiny 2 year 1 which was objectively trash and shit in my opinion. But I’m not going to say it’s still not bad, especially for wasting the massively rich and diverse world. Which is why personally Destiny needs the Halo book treatment, where budget is not a constraint.
Here is my theory..... None of the events in the game actually happened. It's all just part of Kamala's fan fiction story. The last scene in the game shows the Avengers in a photograph with Kamala. But this never happens during the A-Day event according the storyline that follows. Banner is nowhere to be seen and Stark shows up after the presentation begins during which the attack occurs. Black Widow ushers Cap to the stage. No picture time for Kamala in the world where the game takes place. Kamala won the fiction event and had her picture taken with the team. The events of the game are just her fan fiction in which she inserts herself as one of the heroes. Itself a pretty common power fantasy for kids, much like Harry Potter. This would explain a lot as well. Like how Stark's password is so incredibly simple yet no one else, including the resistance movement or AIM, ever figured it out. How Kamala single handedly gets the team back together. Also why her powers are so....unoriginal....basically just being the same as Mr Fantastic. Kamala is basically smarter than Stark, stronger than Hulk, more noble than Thor, etc....It's all just a child's superhero fantasy with her at the center. The Avengers are her friends, she is a peer (despite a kid's natural insecurity about being equals), and so on. The entire game is just her fan fiction story which is why at the end she returns home to the 'real world'. The teenage Kamala leaves the screen and the last shot of her is as a child. Because she is still that child.
@@standardperson3189 Thank you. Even if that isn't what the devs intended, it does a good job explaining the events of the game and about halfway thru the campaign I started thinking of it as my theory, which made me want to play as Kamala over the other Avengers.
Crisdean Mackinnon I remember seeing Taskmaster at the beginning of the beta and thinking “Oh, this will go into a lot of less mainstream villains for once?” Then i fought AIM soldiers. Then Abomination showed up. Then I fought AIM soldiers. Then Abomination showed up. Hours of AIM later, MODOK appears and it’s just...so much potential gone to naught.
I guess? MODOK is fine, but the lack of villains at launch is ridiculous. I know they said free story content is coming in the future but seriously? Taskmaster, and Abomination and MODOK at the end? That's it? Hell Spideman had like, 8-9 villains at least
The game is free on game pass and I'm having a pretty good time with it. There arent too many bugs, they added some better skins, and theres more characters to play and campaigns to do. I'd recommend at least trying it since it is free
Well, people had too much expectations from this game and it didn't really surprise me when it turned out to be bland af, I feel pretty good that I didn't preorder this shit
@@zachgray4767 yeah, you can NEVER trust a hyped game just by watching it's trailer........and in this case, this game already felt boring even in the first actual trailer when we had to switch between characters and when it came to the hulk part, there was actually a marked area for him to cross the game without him even jumping
When you compile the game's real problems together, you kinda realize how small of a problem Kamala Kahn really is. It's just people trying to have correlation equal causation.
People just want to keep up the facade that Kamala is a bad character because Marvel made her female and Muslim. Like, what in all hell does that have to do with her character or this game being bad?
I honestly feel like the game is ok. The armor's have different attributes such as pym particles. There's no way you can play on normal difficulty and button mash through it dodging and parrying are very important. This skill tree makes a huge difference in Gameplay and you literally don't have to pay for anything at all. It's honestly a 6.5-7/10.
Also, each of the free battle passes gives you “$10” worth of in-game currency, which is exactly how much it will cost to buy new character battle passes. So essentially, you get $60 of premium currency absolutely free, allowing you to buy 6 new character’s battle passes, which will again go on to reimburse your investment. You could spend no extra money on this game and still come out with 100% of the content, so Cosmo was being a bit misrepresentative
