I agree. If you read in mythology, you would understand why Loki did all of what he did. All six of his children taken away, being betrayed and not knowing why. Then to find out and realize that from infancy, you were told to hate and fear the one thing that you are. Then for Loki to face all that and STILL choose Odin over his real Father, when it was Odin all along that hurt and broke him....Yes, a prequel would do much for understanding Loki.

I know! It doesn't help that the man that plays him is basically a gentleman hero in real life. He's so humble & polite yet funny & talented & he is dedicated to helping out those less fortunate than himself & does loads of charity work. I know there isn't any real superheroes in this universe but Hiddleston is one of the few that are pretty close. I just have so much admiration & respect for him plus he is one of few actors to make me really care about a villain. (Him & Benedict Cumberbatch.)

I love how he responds to interviewers. As many have already pointed out, he's very down to earth and a humble person. He's very handsome and an extremely talented actor. I hope we get to see more of Tom and Loki in the near future.

TOTALLY agree with you. Loki could have gone either way. But because of his true identity, being the god of mischief and a troublemaker and a shape shifter and whatnot had to follow in line with what Marvel wanted to create out of his "character"... it would be like making Jason Vorhees into the Easter bunny. Doesn't 'bend' that way.

I find it kind of weird that as soon as it was starting to be rumoured that Loki might not be in Avengers 2, he was suddenly referenced in everything! I mean Gabriel is supposedly returning to Supernatural & he was Loki, The Darach (Jennifer Blake) quoted Loki & hinted some Norse mythology in Teen Wolf. Also they are supposedly writing another Mask film. Apparently J.R.R. Tolkien was heavily influenced by Loki for The Hobbit Saga. As well as he apparently inspiration for the 'badness' in HTTYD 2

I want a film about the Loki he was in Thor...if most of the deleted scenes would have been in the movie, i wouldn't have such need...:/ Those scenes make the character deeper, more lovable,show more sensitivity..

I know that the others (Hemsworth, Evans, Downey Jr.) have contracts for 6 films-3 possible Avengers and 3 in their own franchises. Not sure about Hiddleston though cos villains usually change from film to film. I hope he's in all of them though! >.< even if all he does is walk onto the scene, flick Thor, then walk off again XD

you are correct. The whole character line (Loki, Thor, Odin, Frigga, Volstagg, etc) is based off of Norse Mythology. I've learned quite a bit about it ever taking on Loki as my alter ego on another site I frequent. It's all so fascinating to me. I know M couldn't take the credit for using the Loki character. Perhaps the Prose Edda could take more of the credit here. But even then those are just 'stories' about Norse gods and giants and whatnot.....

I would think it a bit odd to see him in there again considering he's stewing around in his prison cell in the deep places of Asgard, I'd be like, whoa. How'd he get out to be in A2 and then back into the cell for Thor2? wow, that's some mighty Hiddleston magic there! :P But I am not surprised that he won't be in A2. After how the first one ended with Thanos showing his pearly whites.

yes I am aware of this. I was trying to say that it's going to be similar to the concept, Thor and Loki working together to stop something bad from happening. It would have been nice to see them work together for the common good, and their bond together as brothers. There's much to be told before Thor and I would love to read, see that. And I would love to see something good go his way - well, being adopted by Allfather and Frigga is a blessing, since Laufey abandoned him. He deserved a family.

I know there's another Captain America movie coming out - have no idea when but I read about it a couple days ago. And of course, there can NEVER be too many Iron Man movies. Yeah but I think their different agendas for stopping whatever it is will block any real love or bonding between them. Yeah would love like a Thor & Loki prequel comic or film. He is a excellent villain but his circumstances are so tragic that people wish to see him happy in some way. Not by getting the revenge he desires in this universe but in a alternative getting love, brotherhood, companionship. All the things that I would imagine he would have desired if his past had not made him have such monstrous hatred.

Its a nice idea but Marvels Loki is inspired by Mythology. Same as the examples mentioned. They were adapted from the same source rather than inspired by M's so M couldn't take credit for the others. Its all coincidence spurred on by popularity of him. Unlikely for M to get any royalties. Shame though might of convinced Tom in some way to stay on as Loki for more. :( I would love to maybe see a prequel of like just before the first Thor. to finish what I was saying, stupid character count, Loki in Norse legend and Loki in the Marvel U have not so distant relations in comparison to characters, I love how Marvel took a lot of Loki's myth character traits and his abilities as a god and incorporated them into M's Loki. Of course comic books off of legends are always going to be different. Rightly so, if I wanted to know about the true Loki, I'd go to the library and find out. Well Thor The Dark World isn't a prequel. I meant I would love to see the brothers working together for something they believe in and not because Thor is desperate and has no one else to turn to who knows about the subject so forces his brother to help him. Would like to see them as loving brothers rather than being forced together. Also would like to see perhaps Loki get some fatherly love from Odin. Also win just for once. He's kind of like a cartoon bad guy he can just never win.

I'm finding Loki being referenced or hinted of in so many things now, he's become a franchise all on his own. Royalties would most likely go to Marvel I would assume, aaaand maybe Tom would see a dime or two of it. *shrug* Juss sayin...
