Devs said the attack cooldown will make it more difficult for these pathetic losers to kill people with their hacks, and I really hope thats the case. Don't know why they can't make something that detects when players are going above their preset max speed and kicks them, but knowing them they would find some way to fuck it up and it will kick players doing nothing wrong.
I imagine it would be very easy to get a lot of false-positives in cases like when someone gets a lag spike and teleports forwards, despite being walking normally in their screen, could also mess with being carried (a baby being grabbed by a deino is technically moving faster than expected), or knocked back/pushed faster than you can move. That said easy anti cheat is *known* for being absolute ass, I hope they work in their security soon..
if you both remember, this is actually what they did during the release of galli, cera, and troodon. It resulted gallimimus in particular getting kicked off of the server if it ran with the speed boost from the calls, and some issues with beipi too. I don’t recall what other issues were present or why they couldn’t be fixed easily, but something tells me it might not be as easy as it sounds.
