I don't give a rat's ass what anybody else says: this is one of the best written, performed and recorded songs ever. In every aspect. Them boys were lucky and humble enough to ride on that angelic wave of perfection that only passes through once, maybe twice, in a lifetime.
It's an absolutely stunning song but it's impossible to define "the best", is totally subjective and actually impossible to do, because NEVER IN YOUR WHOLE life you will listen to all the songs created by mankind. By the way, they reminds me of Bright Eyes on the style of compose and sing, you know them?
I think this video is great and fits the song in a really nice, not-so-obvious yet appropriate way. Keep up the good work, whatever you do, Mr. Nackashi.
You know a song is great and in particular this whole album. When you can hear The Beatles as if this was one of their albums. This is truly fn' great.
I get what you're saying. Avett have a thousand songs that all sound completely different. They're unmatched in everything they do. They never expected to become a huge band. They still play live shows like a band trying to put gas in the van. As does M&S. If you asked each band what they thought of the other, you'ld get the same response...kindred spirits.
This music video reminds me of Lent by Autoheart! This is a great song!! Was recommended by a fan of Neverafter from the Dimension 20 show because of how this song reminded them of the show’s characters.
Your assertion was that they are both equally amazing. The fact M+S can produce some sweet sounds does not make up for the fact they have taken one idea and smashed it to the ground through their catalogue.
you will, I hope, one day, get old,and then you will regret such insults you pour upon others who merely express a view. The day will come I assure you, as for the video-damn fine effort to a marvellous song
I have 4 thieves and emotionalism. Two very different albums. I like thieves better--so if I am looking for more of a rockin' album, which Avett Brothers album should be my next purchase?
Go into your happy place with your copy of Babel, listen to Broken Crown. Then take Sigh no More & listen to Awake my Soul. If that doesn't work, you're hopeless.
@npgaring definitely not country man...and the weezer thing, its just the harmonizing thats making you think that. great song. great band. weezer is good too.
1st, I think that original footage would be nice. Paranoia in Bb Major was a great video. This is just a cheap trick to conjur up some hits. I see this bulletin on myspace that says "NEW VIDEO!" and I get all amped to see a video with the band in it and then it's just some splicing of scenes from an old TV show that
