It’s weird that Shane used his movie to make himself a teen heartthrob and she used her movie to be a serial killer CEO socialite. People have some odd fantasies.
I second this, it is so much better! I think it resembles more the phrase "boys will be boys" than even the one in the movie, though those are practically the same.
Considering the fact that her character is supposed to be a cannibal, and that she eats the spider, that would have made much more sense. It would’ve been clever writing if that’s what she said.
wait why is there a joke about her killing a homophobe when her shocking girl kissing bisexual trait is like one of the most well worn homophobic movie tropes there is
She sounds like me, when I - a Yorkshire lass with the broadest northern accent you'll ever hear - tries to do that stereotypical upper-class Elizabeth Hurley style accent (and yes, I practice this in front of a mirror, don't judge me)
It was bugging me so much I googled her & she's actually Scottish so....🤷♀️ I think she legit talks like that? But maybe putting on the 'poshness' of it all.
"I'm a cannibal" *never eats human flesh* "I'm addicted to cocaine, sex, . . . and indescribable violence" *never does coke, only one sex scene, pistol whips a guy and slaps Tyler in the face* "I get depressed when I kill" *is a serial killer*

@SCB you’re still making fun of teenagers when you can clearly see from this movie, with this older than millennial lady, that edgy isn’t limited to teens?
@@HiBuddyyyyyy I say that as someone who was like that when I was a teenager on the platform. Hell, this is still a thing with people who are in their 20s+ on there.
As a certified cycling instructor, she has no resistance on the bike and that's why she's bouncing out of control. That's a definite way to get injured and waste a great workout 🤣
I hate this on a very personal level because a movie about a bisexual cannibal who falls for a conman set to an 80s soundtrack sounds like something I'd love but instead it's just Bad
I'm less than 5 minutes in and she switched from "English" to "American" to "Luck of the Irish" in 15 seconds... I'm waiting for "Austin Powers meets Shrek" next.
To be fair, as a gay man that's about all I expect from bisexuals. I learned the hard way not to trust them to be satisfied with one partner (or gender) for long.
“money empowers us to acquire the things we like in life. it also allows us to avoid the things we do not like’ damn we got a real socrates over here! money can be exchanged for goods and services guys!
Reminds me of that scene from the Simpsons when Homer's brain had to explain that money can buy him more peanuts when he found money instead of a peanut
She's Scottish-American... as in, born and raised in Scotland, but has lived in the US for about as long at this point. It sounds like she was trying to put on some sort of accent in the film as well, but it's really difficult to tell what exactly she was going for. It's all over the place.
She has like 600 different accents. Is she British? Is she American? Is she Irish? Is she human? The world may never know. Edit: This whole movie is a fever dream with a dose of hallucinogens.

When the film maker thinks they're "elevating" American Psycho while having a complete lack of understanding of the themes and message of American Psycho.
this movie is the fever dream of a 30 yr old sugar baby who dropped too many xannies and drank two bottles of sangrio before 5 pm, her narration is insane to process
No one who watched American Psycho and thought "hey this guy is really cool I wanna be like him" should ever be allowed to adapt it in any way. She literally watched a whole movie making fun of people like her and took away nothing but "rich murderer cool"
Exactly. I'm so tired of this whole "let's adapt classic movies/pieces of art and miss the entire point and/or message of it in the process, making it a disgrace for the sake of bEiNg EdGy AnD cOoL" trope... I am positively mad that THIS is the first representation that we see of such a cool premise like "bisexual cannibalistic serial killer". As a bi lover of horror and Hannibal, I demand better.
We should stick with pan icon Hannibal and Bicon Alana. And Margot. And Jimmy. There’s actually quite a lot of good representation compared to lots of shows and movies.

Steve bought a wife. Steve buys wife a movie so she can be an "actress" and makeout with a younger man in front of him. Steve totally gives off "I like to watch" vibes.
it's almost as if gender is a social construct and women can become infected and affected by the male gaze too especially if they have been conditioned from an early age and are used to basing their entire personality and self worth around being desirable to men (and too desirable for women! or at least "the hot one" in a bisexual relationship...women with this mindset would never date someone who could rival them in terms of physical attractiveness...oh god, is that why the disposabletoken girlfriend is asian?? *i'm implying that might be her logic, it's not mine* and um, if LL is ACTUALLY bisexual...i feel actually sorry for her. SORT OF BUT ACTUALLY NOT REALLY AT ALL kind of like a momentary pang of empathy for Caitlyn Jenner. i feel more sorry for the actress who had to play the asian gf tho) anyway yes i know YOU know this a lot of other people were commenting on it and it bothered me as an LGBTQ person (even though i COULDNT PICK a part of this to be THE MOST bothered by, this was a strong contender) but your comment summarized it better than any others ive read and i appreciate that lol
My script professor in film school always said “don’t make your script full of dialogue because none of you know how to write dialogue, it’s hard to get right and it’ll cheapen your film when you inevitably fail” and I feel like this has never been more true than in this movie
her dancing on the balcony HAS to be a reference to how the real housewife that looks exactly like her, camille grammar, danced in the show bc i can’t comprehend her dancing like that and thinking it looked cool
Yup. Exactly that slithery " I act like I am dancing for a production number, but really I want your husband's eyes to bug out" and it isn't cute on either one. First episode "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" for a reference point. It's hysterical.
She is also a "shapeshifter" with a rigorous diet and workout regimen. And this movie is so fucking insane at 6 minutes in I honestly have no idea if she means she's literally a shapeshifter or if that's a weird flex
Louise thinks she’s making a women’s version of American psycho, when American Psycho was also written and directed by a woman, Mary Harron. Edit: a lot of people have pointed out that the original book was written by a man. I know that, I’m just talking about the movie.
As a male who was sexually assaulted by a woman this makes me extremely uncomfortable and just plain angry. That whole 'oh, women can't assault men' thing just pissed me off.

I’m choosing to believe that she watched Killing Eve and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off on the same day and thought “you know what both of these are missing? Me”
Saw this and needed to re-plug Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. And correct that it's the main character that has BPD, not the actress. I know the title might be off-putting at first, but trust that each season deconstructs a different part of that title, i.e. the misogyny, and mental illness stigma. It's a truly wonderful show, made with a lot of heart and thoughtfulness. Bonus, it's also super fun and inclusive.
god please... It's tiring seeing mental health as a sub-textual "reason" for being a criminal... Also the bisexuality trope too. As someone with BPD traits (I have a lot of traits but not enough to be diagnosed with the full disorder) it's tiring seeing a disorder that is related to my own mental struggles be used as a "wow! i have this disorder that's why im crazy and unpredictable and commit crimes or are just generally a bad person 🤪" same goes for depictions of people with narcisistic personality disorder and anti-social personality disorder (the now more correct name for sociopathy)... mental health being used as the core reason is just so played out let alone damaging to people who live with them or things that are similar to them
not that it makes a huge difference, but she just said "I may or may not have an undiagnosed personality disorder", not borderline specifically. If anything it would probably be narcissistic or antisocial personality disorder, which are both associated with traditional hollywood evil-ness. But regardless, using personality disorders as a whole or even specific ones to be synonymous with being evil is whack
That narration is so infuriatingly self-satisfied. I think she thinks being a terrible person is transformative and interesting because she's ~a woman~ which is my least favourite kind of pretend right-wing girl-boss feminism.
I weep for all the truly talented writers, actors, and directors, who will never get the chance to share their gifts because they can’t afford to. Meanwhile, literal trash like these people, get to make whatever crap they feel like.
It's amazing how she pulls in two of the easiest tropes in the world by bringing the asian media stereotypes that is being pointed out today: "the manicurist" and the hyper sexualization. Not saying that there is anything wrong with being an Asian manicurist or a sexual asian woman, but it's one of the constant tropes used in hollywood. Thank you for letting me know to not support this movie. P.s. also totally annoyed with how bisexuality is represented here. We're not sex toys or traps for the opposite sex, nor always interested in a three way. Grrrr this movie.
The dialogue in this movie sounds like someone watched every Ryan Murphy production ever made and then wrote a script. It sounds like bootleg Scream Queens.
Yeah I was getting dollar store Scream Queens energy, and even the concept of ripping off Ryan Murphy isn't creative because it's been so *done* before.
I understand this isn't the biggest issue, but as a Dutch person, I need to say that her "correct" way of saying 'van Gogh' is absolutely bizarre. Like idk what she was going for, but the half-baked cough noise that came out of her mouth was further from the proper Dutch pronunciation than just saying it in English. So not only is the joke not funny, its not even correct.
It sounds like she was trying to write herself like a Ryan Murphy character ie Sue Sylvester or Santana from glee with her “quick witty takedowns” that sound so much more unnatural and overly pre written than even Glee. She could never deliver lines like Jane Lynch or Naya Rivera
There was so much chitchat within the first like 30 seconds that I was literally seeing in red pen. I didn't know my editor brain could engage so fast.
