Being a kid on 9/11 was a wild trip… I was in 6th grade math trying desperately to finish my homework before it was due when the teacher rolled in a TV on a cart and said a plane had hit the World Trade Center and we needed to watch the news. I was thinking, ok sad but idk what the World Trade Center is and I gotta do this long division. Then the second plane hit and even I knew shit was getting real at that point. But ya know still needed to finish my homework. Teacher was like, no watch the news this is history! Then 20 minutes later she was like, ok kids well that was crazy but we have a field trip to the modern art museum planned and I’ll be dammed if an unprecedented terrorist attack stops us! Then we just went and looked at art… like nothing happened lol.
I'm always impressed by your ability to weave serious topics into these videos and you express your views very well. Thank you for speaking out and making the world a better place with your light and humor ❤️
I have always loved your content but you have become really great at staying true to your beliefs but still not insulting people that believe opposite. I hope that makes sense. You’re awesome ty.
I’m part of the generation that wasn’t born yet, but still got the trauma. I got that cross generational trauma. Like yeah, terrorism bad, but why did you feel the need to traumatize us?
I saw 9/11 with my own eyes, but I watched your video of Don't Look Under the Bed instead of the movie because I was terrified of the trailer as a kid 😂
I was also in the 8th grade when this came out, and I ate it up. Child me felt so comforted by propaganda. Even then, I was like, “But the war is in Afghanistan and Iraq. Why is she acting like her Navy dad will be in direct danger?” Kid me at least had some skepticism.
I'm proud of you for making your feelings about the insane over reaction to an insane attack clear. Taking a stand against violence in all of its forms is important, and as an important podcaster, its almost a responsibility. I've never seen anyone else review this tacky movie. What a ridiculous piece of propaganda. Ya know, when the reality is already horrible enough, there's no need to make things worse with crap like this movie! Bless you Nick!
My 9/11 story. I was in my first teaching position after university. I thought the world was going to end but it just went on and in the afternoon we played bocce. It was bizarre.
Nick you must have read my damn mind because I have been thinking about whether my fave youtubers have been vocal about Palestine and I was thinking about you because you are usually so supportive of marginalised voices and I had no idea where you stood. (It was because you said you were going to cover Amy Schumer in the Matt Rife video - weird connection but here we are!) love you so much and will pray to the algorithm gods for you ❤️
Apparently I’ve had a hallucination of you talking about this movie. This and the Camila Cabello Cinderella. At least I’m either one step closer to me not being crazy or being the most useless psychic ever. 🤞
I would have loved a bit more of a deep dive on manufactured consent in media? Not that this movie really constructs a good narrative to go to war, but yea lmao
"Morning Wood" is a fucking incredible name for a fragrance. I don't know if the US has this slang, but in the UK/Australia it refers to the piss horn you get when you wake up in the morning. If you have a dick that gets hard, obv. I don't know what people with vag's would call it.
Idk maybe I'm an idiot but what started THIS "round" of the bloodshed in the middle east was it an attack on Israel where women and children were killed and kidnapped? Why does no one talk about this?
I was negative 1 years old when 9/11 happened so i obviously have no personal childhood story of how it felt or where i was and stuff. But ive learned a lot about it and i had NO IDEA this was a thing, I am SAT rn with snacks
Was not expecting this to be 2004, figured this was a quick movie because of the theming and how aggressively patriotic things were immediately after 9/11. Figured things would have chilled out by then.
Oh wow I always heard this was a 9/11 movie, but figure there would be a vague attack never shown but implies it was 9/11, but nope, just blantly 9/11.
