Ugh, you're right. I agree too, I hate that trope that gets used in Anime WAY too much. It should be a hint to people it's a shyte trope is that it's how we name characters in media ment for babies, so their stupid half formed brains can follow it.

If the Candy Witch was really innocent and the family was evil, why would she go around haunting and killing all these other people instead of just focusing on the family? I get the friend she killed with the cookie cutter sorta, since she went to her for help and she turned her away, but why kill the woman with the chocolate? Why kill the boyfriend with the cotton candy? Why kill the girlfriend as she's leaving the house? Like if her whole motivation is revenge, why take so long to get said revenge and waste her time killing a bunch of people who had no relation to her?

The only accurate thing there is how the Boat Woman uses the rolling pin: am European, and never in my life I have used the handles of a rolling pin. In fact, they mostly feel like they get in the way. No, I do not accept criticism.

Apparently, according to a few reviews, it's supposed to be an American expat family living in England and all the actors are British aside from the dad, as far as I can tell. So funnily enough, it's actually the opposite thing happening with the accents. No idea why they didn't just make the family British. 🤷‍♀️

Thats what got me the most about the movie. It's like they were trying to rid the ghost of any of her blame and then just threw it back onto the family for really no good reason other than a stupid plot twist that. Also the lines "Did she do this to you?" "I don't remember. I was too young" makes me so angry. She would remember the person that constantly abused her.

"He wasn't a real victim, he *wanted* that adult woman to have sex with him!" is something that we've heard many times as a real life response to teenage boys getting groomed and assaulted by female pedophiles. I hate that this movie made that the actual story, especially when serious discussions of that type of sexual abuse are so rare in media and for a few minutes I thought this movie might have actually been doing something worthwhile.

I honestly thought the girls scar was a self adhesive bandaid wrap around her leg, like the gauze stuff that you'd wrap around a broken arm. I thought it was weird that she had a bandage on but said the witch did it when they were kids. If you didn't say anything I seriously wouldn't of realized those were suppose to be scars. The candy witch writes "Liar" into the son's skin which implies she has a very specific grudge against the family (for good reason) but then spends the first half of the movie killing random people not at all related to the family?? Also why would the mother be so horrifically abusive when the kids were young and then seemingly kind and loving the rest of their lives?? Did someone really sit down and WRITE this??
