I really appreciate your honest and bold review of this new Axios Ironclad. I saw almost all the reviews to whomever Axios sent this watch but everyone said: this good, that good, all good. You are first one to point out the price issue including the kickstarter risk factor. The watch is only nice when it cost $300. But above $400 it's basically a lume junk. And you are right about the water resistance depth, 500 meters without hillium escapement is useless. So no point of making it 500 meters adding 3-4 mm in height and make the case over heavy. By the way I noticed little misalignment in the bezel which you probably didn't.
Great review, Nick. I'd love to see some Zelos or Gruppo Gamma reviews if you get the chance. Being in Singapore myself, it's cool to see local watches getting attention (even if it's mixed feelings).
I like the look but not the price. I am also not a kick starter fan. I also have moved on to quartz. You convinced me and i now have drank the shabazz coolaid. 😭. I cant stand inaccurate watches now. You made me more OCD than prior. Lol. Great review Nicky. 👍. I just picked up a phoibos 300 mm quartz diver. Love it. Check it out
Great review! Detailed and honest. This watch ooks a lot like another microband, Oceaneva Deep Marine Explirer, and has similar specs. Looks like both companies have taken off.
Hell yea i was just looking at one of these! Hopefully its a positive review, i want one, and nicks opinion probably affects my buying decisions more than it should
Every aspect is covered in Your reviews , no Stone unturned . I can only say I would be hesitant (scared) to send You anything that wasn't near perfect. Lol 😁
I agree the quick adjustment is way more important than the 500 m water resistance , who will dive to 500 m ? The deepest I have been is 30 meters and that is deeper than most people have gone to. I also agree 160 grams is way too heavy, weight does not equate quality and Co fort on wrist. They should all be aiming for lighter watches not chunkier and heavier . I think 130 grams to 130 grams tops is the maximum weight for me. The look and design is not bad. The price could have been better, the parts don’t cost that much. Make it lighter, with a quick adjust clasp, slightly thinner and sell it for $499 tops.Thats my take. But your take is spot on , I guess great minds think alike....
I feel like I've seen that watch a thousand times. The decent bracelet and sapphire crystal are nice, but it's just not very interesting looking. There's nothing wrong with that, but there is a lot of competition in that price range and below. I think the most interesting thing about it is the 39mm size, which I feel fills a market niche in the mid-range budget market. Nice Review!
