As a Russian, the importance of Russian winters are overly exaggerated. People often say it is the biggest reason of Russia’s victories, and that just isn’t. Battle of Leningrad and Moscow during WW2, sure, these had most of the successes come in winter. During the Stalingrad battle, the majority of the battle was during the warmer time, and the victory was more about the war tactics. For the rest of WW2, soviet forces won during primarily spring and summer. People also like to blame the winter for Napoleon’s defeat in Russia, but that is probably the biggest misconception. Of course, the winter played a role in his downfall, but it didn’t screw him over singlehandedly. The biggest and bloodiest battles happened in summer of 1812. But Napoleon was outplayed by the russians, as the Moscow was burned down (not entirely known who burned it down) with all it’s supplies which Napoleon needed, the russian army blockades all paths towards resourceful areas in the south (modern day Ukraine and areas nearby Don, which are both rich in food). Long story short, by the middle of autumn 1812 Napoleon’s army didn’t have supplies to continue their war, the russians didn’t want to give a final battle, and Napoleon had to retreat by the same path he went by (which automatically means his army had already robbed all it’s supplies) and this is why the winter was so rough for him.

They started in the early 2000s as a satire party and they still are, yet they are putting a lot of effort into exposing corruption and fighting intransparency in german and european politics. And their Chariman Martin Sonneborn, who is a MP in the european parliament since 2014, said recently, that they are discussing the creation of a faction with kétfarkú kutyapárt, in case, that the hungarians make it into the parliament by the next election in june.

I mean, "switching sides" is rlly misrepresenting if not straight up completely wrong. Hungary was invaded by Soviet troops who then used forced conscription to fuel their war machine and brutally punished anyone suspected of Horthyist sympathies, Hungary was under marshall law, and since neither Horthy nor the Soviets represented everyone in Hungary, it was the government, not the country, that was rlly on a side.

Yeah but if we really want to get technical about the origins of the style then we need to look towards Greece and Tuscany.

Difference is: Italy was the birthplace of the Romans as Rome was (and is) an Italian city. Italy, not Albania, Serbia, France, Macedonia. Every Roman architecture in the Mediterranean is a replica made by Romans of what was first built in Rome, Italy. Yes, the Roman empire expanded everywhere, but if anything that's a W for Italy, using that to take Rome away from Italy is absurd.

Saying the Roman empire is as much as Macedonian as it's Italian is like saying the British empire is as much Australian as it is English or the Ottoman Empire is as much Greek as it is Turkish. It's just non-sense. It's obvioulsy not true. Italy was the origin and epicenter of that civilisation. And there is only one country that can say: Rome is the capital of my country, and that is Italy.
