mcr was just a new type of music. not a lot of people liked it, while others praised it. i personally love mcr, excellent band with beautifully talented members

It’s insane how ppl really just want to hate the mentally ill so much. I’m an 06 kid and I’m glad I grew up w more open conversations about it but even then I had a HUGE period of denial over my own diagnoses. The moral panic fads that lead older generations to believe something is MAKING kids hurt or ki11 themselves is so frustrating, “misery loves company” is a classic expression and hearing things you’ve dealt with in artful lyrical form is exactly that. Basically I’m just tryna say I love and agree w all the points u made abt the 2000s/2010s emo subculture, and I’m glad younger emos (like me!) aren’t facing as much backlash for being part of the scene :)

i found them in 2022 after their reunion and it slowly built to the point where i almost only listen to them theres only two bands ive heard the entire discography of and mcr is one of them bullets is my favourite mcr album and demolition lovers is my favourite song EVER !!!😃😃😃😃😃😃😃🥀

Ok sorry I’m leaving another comment, didn’t expect the bandom shipping to be mentioned but I have PASSIONATE feelings about real person fiction/rpf and it’s basically a lot of what u said. Personally, I ADORE the stage-gay shit. I’m a gay guy, I see two beautiful men getting freaky w each other, I’m gonna eat it up. This is more of a hot take, but I think fan content is pretty harmless overall too. But you can’t take the FICTION out of “real person fiction.”To me there’s a biiiiig difference between “I want those guys to kiss” and “I think those guys SHOULD kiss and I am going to say that to their faces.” Like any other form of inserting urself into celebrity’s personal lives, it’s really weird at best and can ruin friendships at worst. I don’t think the stage-gay shit would’ve happened if they didn’t WANT people to enjoy it, but it also was most certainly not an open invitation for fans to tell them what to do in their own love lives. 10:38 seriously, i’ll never understand the sense of entitlement some “fans” have about their favorite artists. they think, “well, you wouldn’t have a career without us and pay your bills so you owe us every bit of your privacy and personal life.” like, no one ever asked you to go out of your way to genuinely appreciate the art. you *chose* to, and you didn’t choose to out of pity. gerard said it best, something along the lines of, “i’m not your employee, and i’m sorry for you if you think you can treat me that way.”
