Holy smokes this is the finest video I've found on hooking up a rotary mower. I just got a JD 3025 to clear brush on my land and my dealer did not explain this to me in nearly the detail you've provided here. When he left I was scared to even use my machine because they just told me all the ways I could chop my fingers off instead of properly explaining all of the aspects of the machine that need to be adjusted. I'm about to binge-watching your channel like Game of Thrones and then I feel like I'll be in good shape. Safety is my highest priority as I learn to become a competent tractor operator. Now I feel like I have a 'tractor dad' in my pocket. Thank you sir!!!

In general, a person cannot insert the PTO shaft onto the PTO at the back of the tractor by pushing on the cover. Much better to disconnect the cover end, slide it back out of the way, then reconnect the cover end

You push on the shaft to connect not the plastic bell housing.

Why does the shaft turning make it easier to connect? The arm already turns to find the splines.

Some machines are hard to turn the implement shaft to align splines as you have to move all the moving components or they toughing the ground and won't turn so having neutral position on tractor you can turn the tractor PTO shaft easier to align splines to connect implement.

It is a Dogbone Style Stump Jumper. The Angles on the Blade Carrier lift the cutter up and over stumps or other obstructions on the ground. Dogbone style is easier to keep in balance versus round pan style which leads to less vibration and longer gear box life. Why RhinoAG now offers 10 Year Gearbox Warranty starting in 2024. That's a Great Idea too. Also need to watch not to raise mower too high and hit shaft on front edge of the deck. That gets expensive!

What! no safety chains on the PTO?. It is unacceptable for the PTO cover to be spinning. That spinning is a major safety hazard

IF you have questions about this you need to contact RhinoAG www.RhinoAG.com The Covers are not the hazard it's the shaft inside the covers that is spinning and the hazard. As long as you have the shaft covered by the covers it protects those around it.

@@VahrenbergImplement the spinning PTO cover will wrap you up, faster than you can say 'oops' That is why PTO covers have two chains. One to hold the inner cover still and one to hold the outer cover still.

The External PTO Shaft Plastic Cover does not turn with the PTO shaft it has a composite (Plastic) Bearing that allows the shaft to turn inside. It can move but any pressure on it stops the external cover and protects the operator from the internal shaft. That is why it is important to keep the plastic shield in good condition so it does not injure and operator.

It's free spinning has no power to the shields. You touch it and it stops spinning so it protects you from the shaft and is not a safety hazard. Like I mentioned contact RhinoAG at www.RhinoAG.com and they can confirm and will listen your needs. Thanks for the discussion.

Well I do appreciate what you’re trying to do the tractor you’re working on is completely different than a 1700e so this video does not really help. Please do a video actually using a 1700e. Thnx

This was done with a Massey Ferguson 1700E Series Tractor exact model was the 1739E. The 1700E series featured 3 Models in the first generation 1726E, 1734E and 1739E. Then next generation was the 1825E, 1735E & 1740E. Now this series of economy compact models are the 1825E, 1835E and 1840E. Are you thinking GC Series Sub Compact because they make a GC1723E model. Totally different series of tractors you have to use all the letters in the model numbers???
