I gotta say, if DC stick to movies like this, what they are good at, they will thrive. They can’t copy what marvel have done, they’ve failed. But the dark almost stand alone movies slap hard. 10/10

I've been saying this for years! They have made great standalone films. They need to stop with the universe thing, and churn out what they're great at. Then, they'd be different from Marvel and make hella cash.

Weve seen standalone movies for years and why not against it and this looks good I want to see the DCEU or a universe. We have seen Batman standalone movies I want to see him with Superman etc and fighting Clayface, Manbat etc. I do like standalone movies too and want them just i want universe movies too.

The best part of this movie is seeing Batman not being perfect. When his parachute got clipped and he went rolling on the ground. The fact he couldn't stop the bombs from going off and even helping Falcone to be killed. It was nice to see that he still has a lot to learn and he's not capable of stopping everything.

As much as I loved The Batman, I still think The Dark Knight is better, and one of the greatest movies of all time (as well as best superhero movie). But I've watched it 100 times, so definitely have a bias. Can't wait for this to be available on streaming though, second favorite Batman movie

I wish dc did more movies like this. Keeping them dark like this. They aren’t gonna beat marvel in those huge action packed universe destroying movies so maybe they should tone it down and go for a more psychological thriller type movie that gets in your head. Loved this movie and I hope they keep the next ones up to this standard.

What makes Batman stands out from the rest is his Rogue Gallery of interesting villains. There is a lot of scope there. That’s why a fresh take of Riddler worked. I hope in the next one, we will see more villains on screen taking up on the Bat as part of the Joker’s Grand Plan and he will appear as the final boss in the end instead of a whole movie around him.

@@PautinoPR Yeah. With that covered face and his antics he gave Hush vibes. In the 2019 animated film The Riddler turned into Hush. But the latest 2022 movie also gave an Easter egg that a different Hush may appear in the next movies.

Almost everyone in Gotham is corrupt and he believes the best way in fixing the issue is to "wipe the slate clean" (aka killing everyone).

This is arguably one of the best Batman movies to date. I'm sorry but Pattinson and Bale are better Dark Knights than Affleck. The Batman truly nailed exactly what the Dark Detective should be. And Zoe Kravitz was excellent as Catwoman.

It IS the best Batman movie of all time, maybe not the BEST superhero movie (tomorrow I gotta watch TDK to figure that out), but it is still the best BATMAN movie. TDK isn't the best Batman movie, it is arguably the best superhero and out of all movies, but deffo not a Batman one. This was the perfect depiction of Batman since 1994 Animated series and it isn't even close.

After Watching the Movie, i think this Might be the Best 'Batman' we've had. What Drew me most was how smooth the fist to fist action was. A lot/Most of Batman Movies has him (Batman) moving very Robotic & Stiff, as to where this one made him look more loose and looked like he was actually fighting. I also have to say this is probably the Cleanest Batman look for live action film. i think people will always hold onto Dark Knight with Heath Ledger being the best one (which is completely understandable) but this one wassss sooo good imo. A Personal Favorite for Me.

I read a comment that I really agreed with, someone said that Mr. Freeze wouldn't work very well because this is a more realistic Batman. As much as I want him to be a villain, I'm not sure how sci-fi they can go.

Actually Matt Reeves himself confirmed that joker did infact encounter The Batman and that batman was supposed to meet him to get close to the riddler. That scene was cut out from the film and he also said that we would get to see that scene in the future.

What I loved about how long The Batman was is how Reeves could have so many antagonists for Batman's iconic Rogues Gallery. Croc could for sure be in the sequel, and he wouldn't even have to be a massive villain.

@@ultrabigfella Joker Vs Riddler is also an established comic storyline from like 2 years ago (The War of Jokes and Riddles I think) if they tie that in with No man's Land (where the city gets screwed and all the Villians basically play Game of Thrones) then they have a solid roster for the next film. Joker and Riddler as the main Villians with Penguin, Killer Croc, Mr Freeze (Teased by the director and his wife might link to the flooding at a stretch). That'd probably be enough but I can see them putting Deathstroke in their just for good measure lol. Alfred apparently wasn't the only person to train Bruce so it'd make sense for him to be linked that way.

It was understood that he had a hand in most things even if he wasn't the main villain. So, it wouldn't be a stretch to have him in the shadows for a while while they showcase other villains.

@@williamharrow8285 I agree it's impossible to really pick an all time favorite comic book movie. Not only because there's so many great ones, but they're all very different from one another. This Batman movie though I felt had the best story whereas my other favorites from Marvel, ie Winter Soldier, Infinity War, Ragnarok etc. have good stories but also rely on the fantastical to lift them up a bit. The realness and how well grounded not only the story was but also the action sequences felt and looked very real. I only noticed obvious cgi once and that was during the wing suit scene.

So the Red Hood Gang basically. I can see a year one Battinson, in his zeal, accidentally kicked Joker into a Ace Chemicals vat, and Joker was found but was crazy, so they sent him to Arkham.

That seems like it would very quickly turn into just another action movie. The beauty of Pattinson’s Batman is that it’s not action based, it’s a mystery crime thriller. I don’t Deathstroke being anything other than an action villain.

It’s interesting how this was an adaptation to Long Halloween and (sort of) Hush. I expected Riddler to know Batman’s identity. And they teased that. But it’s nice to have what I expect not happen. Nice change of pace.

Matt Reeves said that they filmed a scene that would have occured somewhere in the middle of the movie where Batman visits Joker in Arkham Asylum in an attempt to help profile The Riddler, since he knows of Joker's work since they have met before somewhere in the 2 years he's been Batman. He cut the scene in order to keep the attention on The Riddler, but wants to release the scene at a later date.

I wanna see this Riddler develop into Hush. He's obsessed with Bruce, the only one who got away. And it seems that Riddler does somewhat know that the Court of Owls or something like that exists. Definitely a lot can come from his character still!

The scene where Batman was walking past the cops and detectives at the crime scene was amazing. I don't know why more people don't mention it. I'd like to see the Joker brought in at some point because he is so iconic, but I'd definitely like to see other villains explored first. Hush, the Talon, etc would be great ideas, as would a more accurate Bane, where his intelligence was highlighted much more. Even a more comic accurate Ras Al Ghul and Talia too.

Bruh, the cinema I watched the batman in yesterday was completely dead lmao. When I was there to watch no way home, me and my friends were struggeling to get a seat because all the tickets were gone so fast, meanwhile when I went to watch The Batman with the same people I saw NWH with... The cinema was empty lmao. There were only 4 of us, and like 5 other people whom we didn't know. Kinda sad that just beacuse it's a DC movie, it doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

I think the penguin is going to play a bigger role in the next movie for sure, but I really hope they keep up the trend of having multiple villians in one movie each with a different level of importance to the plot. What I REALLY want to see is this version of batman get a Robin. Especially a 10 yr old dick grayson. Would love to see gordon have to reason with the rest of the force why he's not only letting a vigilante on crime scenes, but also a 10 yr old.

Yeah I'd really MUCH rather have someone like Freeze as the main villain of the next one over yet another joker. I kinda rolled my eyes when he "showed up" in that scene. The disfigured face had some people wonder if it was two face, which coulda been interesting? But then the clown comment and the laughing kinda ruined it. I love the joker, like anyone else, but he's the constant go-to in *everything* these days and I just wanna see someome else get some spotlight

A Batman movie not coming out every year or 2 is a travesty simple because the Batman lore is so vast they could easily put 3 movies out a year for the next 20 years and still have characters and story arcs that would intrigue the audience.

I really want Reeves to explore more of the Batman Rogues Gallery. His interpretation of Riddler made me fascinated of what he can do. Like, two I would think that would be fascinating would be the Court of Owls and The Mad Hatter. The Court of Owls can deepen the Wound within Gotham by not only adding more corruption to Gotham, but making Bruce Face more of the Demons of his past. The Mad Hatter exploiting Batman by twisting his mind, tricking him by leading him down paths he needs to face. Both being able to give more detective elements to the Batman, while also sticking to its Neo-Horror Style, Especially the Mad Hatter.

DC has learned from marvel. Easter eggs to tease its future for shows and movies. 🔥 This movie gave me such a positive outlook on the future of the DC universe. They have one of the best superheroes ever in Batman, and have overused the whole vigilante thing, and not ever focused on the detective side of his character. I loved this movie

With ‘War for the Planet of the Apes’ in mind, I can picture Reeve’s doing a fantastic Mr Freeze story next. No more villains are needed for a 2nd film,. Penguin, Riddler, & (maybe) Joker can be expanded on, but hopefully less of the latter until the 3rd film.

This movie was incredible. This is a true detective Batman movie. I still think the Dark Knight is better but this is right in the rear. Riddler was done so perfect, and Falcone and Penguin were great too. I’d love to see a Hish storyline

today is my birthday (march 4th) and when i tell you i’ve been WAITING to celebrate it by watching this movie only for my screening to get canceled 5 minutes into the movie and then scrambling around trying to find seats at near by showing and finishing it all at 1 am. in the end honestly was worth it i was AWAKE the whole time and blown away in so many sequences

gotham is flooded and with it being close to winter (just after halloween), it wouldn't be a stretch to have the city freeze over. suddenly frozen corpses start popping up everywhere and batman has to solve the mystery
