Duality of John Flickinger: "I'm Vengeance." "I'm still in the movie theater!"

Just got out of the early screening too! I took two comics, BADASS lmao. I’ll be riding this high for weeks. I left the theater stunned!

I'm so happy all reviews so far have been positive. Can't wait to watch it.

I watched it yesterday. What an awesome introduction to an even more grounded, young and restless Bruce Wayne. With only two years for young Batman the film is dark, it’s gritty and it’s all about the detective work. This is why we all love Batman, because he has so many layers up on layers to explore. Matt Reeves just revolutionized the Riddler. Paul Dano was amazing, pretty much every cast is amazing. What I really like is that the film shows us how young Batman is scared to even fly off high rise buildings stil, but also throws out his body with no hesitation to enemy bullets, sometimes not being able to control his anger during a fight. He gets shot in the chest, punched in the head and doesn’t give in. But above all it haunts him to see anyone get hurt because he’s still affected by the death of his parents. The cinematography is amazing, and boy the city of Gotham is just on another level. You’ll get scared to even pass by the city let alone live there. Shows the true nature of corruption and political deceives. Reeves created a unique Batman sets just as Nolan’s was different than Tim Burton, as well as for Zack Snyders Batman. Each directors build their own unique elements and universe for the Batman. Perhaps the greatest advantage is that character Batman is so versatile and any director can interpret it based on the excellent comic books written. DC needs to focus on these kind of movies because honestly they’re just perfect. I’m hoping we will get another amazing trilogy if it continues like this. My respects to all the previous and current directors for giving us different types of Batman. I really like all the Batman iterations since 2005. (Baleman, Batfleck. & Battison).

That Riddler impression was everything.

The 3rd act seems to be a common “problem” , but also sounds like it has the most action. Interested to see for myself

Definitely thought it felt like a mini-series...but as a movie

This movie gave me everything I wanted to see, and it lived up to the hype in my opinion. But by no means is it a flawless film, it did drag a little bit. I was never bored tho. It was also too dark in some scenes. And some ppl will complain that they wanted more action, however I think they gave us just enough. World’s Greatest Detective!!!! Finally! It’s the most accurate to the printed page, live action Batman has ever been. 8.5/10

This was one of the greatest comic book and Batman movie I’ve ever seen. I truly love the story, the acting, the cinematography, and the run time because when I was watching it I kept on saying to myself “I want more😭😆!”

WB just give Matt Reeves all the $$$ and let him have full creative control over his universe. I want to see as many sequels and spin off TV shows as possible with Reeves at the helm.

I had ZERO issues with the pacing. The 3 hours absolutely FLEW by for me. This film is genuinely everything I've ever wanted in a Batman film. There's no other way to say it. For me personally, it crushes TDK. I know that's not really important, but I know a lot of people hold that film as the gold standard for a Batman film. It exceeded my expectations. And I had HUGE expectations lol. I'm just so...happy! Finally, the DEFINITIVE Batman movie has arrived!!

Many are not satisfied by Rob Pattinson's one-note performance throughout. Many also felt he doesn't exude confidence when donned in the Batman suit.

Just returned from this and WOW WOW just amazing. This is taking the grittyness from the last trilogy a lot more forward. There is a lot going on and you barely get time to relax but the hours flew by. What I loved most is that it is very now but luckily smartphones and internet barely are featured, they only cleverly used that aspect with Riddler. And Robert has truly set the bar very high

I’m going to see it Saturday and I can’t wait. I worry a little about the 3 hour run time because I have a terribly small bladder, but I’ll just watch it again at home when it comes out on blu-ray/4k

Paul dano was damn impressive. He was I'm control the entire time and just terrifying. And this "version" of Batman is Year One Batman. There is no tumbler yet or half his tech.

Over the past 15 years, I had to go to the bathroom once during a movie and that was to take my cousin. How is it so hard for so many adults to manage their bladder for 3 hrs!?!

I also felt like it could of been done as a limited series (like a 3 part show). But yeah it was amazing, definatly the best modern Batman film we had got - maybe even all time for me. The casting, tone, music, cinematograhy, story...everything was there. Can't wait for the next one.

I can't believe you also thought it felt like a 70's Batman! That was exactly what I thought of as well in terms of pacing and flow. Even the fighting at the end felt like a 70s film where it's not so fluid lol you summed up my thoughts as well on the film. Loved it, 3rd act could have been better and too many unnecessary endings, but overall absolutely loved it and can't wait to see it again

I’m going to see it tonight, I’m really excited to see it. It’s crazy how AMC and Cinemark bought the old Rave Theatres 6 or so years ago and they’ve done nothing to update the lobby or hallways.

I had the same problem with finding a spot to use the bathroom. I kept waiting for a dull moment but it never happened. Just bit the bullet and went around the halfway mark.

So so happy mostly a lot of reviews I’ve saw have been very positive , but man Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz , they’re going to be very amazing and they’re total BatCat vibes

The foot steps at the start of film kicked it off to another level

To me this is the best Batman movie since The Dark Knight. R-Batz killed as the titular character as the other performances were top notch as well. I loved the mystery puzzle-solving factor of this. They really dives deep into Batman's intellect and detective skills. and Paul Dano as Riddler... he kinda reminded me of Hush with this face being all covered like that. Still I was blown away by egmatic he was and how he left clues behind. Kinda reminded me of the killer in The Bone Collector. I'am so seeing this again.

I agree this movie had like 3 endings. Really reminded me of Return of the King where I’m not mad about the multiple endings but could’ve been perfectly capped off at a certain point.

Mann oh mann collin ferrel nailed it as the penguin. Zoey kravitz was too gorgeous to look at

Hey John, i had the same feeling about the third act, the ending. I'm a bit glad, that i'm not the only one who found the pacing a little special.😅 Love the performances in general and the detective work and the "noir" feeling. That's Batman. My first RU-vidr/movie review guy, I started watching 4 or 5 years ago, before Chris Stuckmann, Jeremy Jahns, and John Campea. I remember being happy I found someonebwho was a nerd like me that liked talking about movies, and a good workout. Its been awhile, we're getting older my friend lol

Great Take on the film

This movie keeps you attention throughout. That's a real amazing part. Just hope the visual can have more angels, too much close ups. The new batman is just great!!!! Last few batmans, I was thinking with his parents past, they seem too happy. This batman carries this sorrow in him and it shows in such an inside and subtle way, that you can just feel the sadness in him. I never watch twilight, Robert did a great job portrait batman. Just if they come up with more creative villain, hight school crazy is over used. It is bio weapon era, they should come up something around that type of attack and not too much with bombing. Just seems to miss a major action part, maybe improve the car chase scene. I can't tell what the batman car is doing until at last. Overall, great movie, you won't be able to leave your seat even for a almost 3 hours movie.

Thursday night cannot come fast enough, let’s go!
