Giving Martha's Truck Justice: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-w1EwNBUCgts.html Remember Man of Steel and that scene where Jonathan Kent tells Clark that "maybe" he should've let those kids die? Did you know that same truck comes back for Zack Snyder's Justice League? It's actually an incredibly emotional inclusion to the Snyder Cut.
What makes the batmobile for me is less about the actual car but how the car is portrayed. What the reveal scene captured wasnt just a batmobile, it was an angry demon thirsty for a kill and i loved it
The one thing I took away from the movie about the Batmobile was the sound when it starts up in the alley. It looked cool in the garage but the car came to life with the low burble of V8 mixed with the high pitched whine of turbine, just so awesome. It immediately turned from a prop to an actual character when it starts up!!!
The asymetric flame popping from the front engine nearly made me chear aloud in cinema. One of 3 shots from this movie I will remember. The other 2 are Battinson walking towards Penguin with flames in the background and the dark fighting scene lighted only by machine pistol fire.
For me a moment I will always remember was when the batcave appeared for first time, and there was a shot of the batmobile's engine sitting there. A bunch of people on the cinema gasped, including me. My friend asked why, I pointed the engine. It's absolutely nasty to strap two turbos on a humongous V10 engine, but I didn't know how to explain to my non-car people friends how that engine was a warning to what was coming
Overly large drag turbos some people missed the infamous forshadowing but the gearheads were this "hotrod" batmobile is gonna be badass!! It was the ultimate tease to an utterly demonic batmobile. My buddies were clueless until the chase scene happened..then pulled the Alfred hushed dear god lol!!
@@LordEmperorHyperion This Batmobile is made by Bruce (and probably Alfred) in a cave, the Tumbler was made by Fox and Wayne Tech to be used in wars. This one is more realistic for early batman
@@capycapy8920 which is why i absolutely LOVED this batmobile, this one is very believable and feels like SOMEONE COULD ACTUALLY BUILD IT by putting some serious work into it. Tumbler is amazing, but this batmobile feels more close to reality and its fucking amazing. definently made it into my best batmobiles ever.
Great research. I read where all the shots they did with the flames (coming out the rear and the engine bay in the front) were filmed using the electric car to avoid flammable gasoline. I'm guessing from a design perspective they wanted the rear engine to power the "jet Engine turbine" and the front engine was the standard V-8 driving the vehicle. At least that is why it made sense to me to have two engines.
"In universe" the vehicle only has one engine. The real props have the "real" engine concealed because the visible engine -- especially the rear flame --- could never work.
That was kind of my take-away from the movie: that the car must have a big V8 in front that is the main driving power to the wheels (exhaust flames under the hood), and the rear engine is supposed to be more of a jet engine for strategic power boosts, like jumping the car thru the flaming semi truck. But what really matters is that THIS Batmobile in THIS chase scene was a huge adrenaline rush and played out almost like a scene from a horror movie.
I'm not a car-person and barely understood any of the specific terms used in the video but I still am going to watch it fully because I only have sheer respect for the amount of knowledge and dedication someone has to have to be this nerdy about the Batmobile. I aspire to be this nerdy as well but my area of expertise is film making and dissecting shots to analyze them and just appreciate the quality of the images
This is my very first exposure to anyone doing something like this. A deep dive into the enthusiast mindset for vehicles seen on screen can only be described concisely as splendid. I hope you know that this is the type of content the internet was made for. Thank you Josh.
Good job man! Its nice to see "new" car RU-vidrs instead of all the millionaire sponsored folks ala Hoovie and Emilia. Your work here alone is staggering!
Eeeeeh Emelia still has to work hard for her content. It’s the fact that, she’s now being noticed. I’ve known her for 3 years, next month and will say. She has a team helping her, including a PR person. Makes a decent living doing sponsorship ads. One thing to note though. Merch drops usually are what makes a content creator the most. As Streetspeed717 showed one video $12k on one video. But doing a giveaway video involving merch was $300k in sales. But yeah back to Emelia, all her money goes to the builds with little going to herself.
@@86LukeM no doubt, i followed her since, gosh, idk maybe back when her subs were in the 100's. Definitely inspiring. But more to what I was trying to say is, it's miles away from the content and average person could make. Something a little more relatable instead of huge warehouses with double wide lifts and shit.
I love the muscle car stance of this Batmobile. And it’s based on the 68, 9 and 70 era Dodge Chargers. You can’t get much more cooler than that. These Chargers are so photogenic on film.
I am 100% sure that the “drifter” bike is a 1980-83 Honda cb750. the engine and tank are the same as my '81 Honda. I took it apart piece by piece I would recognize it everywhere.
@@CinemotiveShopcraft hey Josh! Great work! I myself have been doing some research on the drifter bike, and there are even elements of a 1970's honda CB. Especially with the softtail design!
Thanks for your patience. I tried getting this out as quick as I could while also making it as accurate as I could. I hope you enjoy and that your appetite for Batmobile trivia is fed :)
Nice work. I like figuring this stuff out myself. I think the general shape is charger without any actual parts, except maybe some glass. The roof is flat as plywood. On the designers site Ash Thorp has some very 69 Camaro drawings as well. I saw a behind the scenes of the Batbike and it sounded electric. It may be a Harley electric. Also, a 'Lotus 7' had a camera strapped onto it. I knew the moment I saw that batmobile trailer shot with the screaming V8 this movie wasn't fucking around. Your video went into a wicked amount of detail and I'm all for it. Please keep this content up
omfg THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR. someone talking about THE BATMOBILE A FULL ANALYSIS OF THIS demon, LIKE HOLY SHIT I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS CAR like goddamn
Absolutely love your research. My dad is a life long mechanic and I have a thing for cars. You are a mad scientist thank you for this I can watch this over and over 👏🏿
I knew it was based on a Charger. When I saw that greenhouse, yep that's a Charger. Love the breakdown and I'm surprised you weren't on 1k subs yet. You earned one subs from me, my guy. Keep up the good work!
I originally thought it was based on a camero because it looks shorter than a '69 charger. I think the widened body makes it look shorter but now I can see it's length.
This batmobile is a character but also a monster. The hair on the back of your neck is supposed to stand on end when this monster makes it's onscreen debut in the alley. Excellent video. I'm excited to see what you do next. Thanks!
So realistically, I think that even in universe it would make sense for this car to have two engines, one up front, allowing that absolute monster to fully power the rear thruster.
Regarding the steering wheel, there are several enthusiast companies that custom machine steering wheels (and other company) out of aluminum like Evodindustries and Sparktech, so being that a steering wheel would be very prominent in POV shots, I’d guess it was custom made for whatever look the designer wanted, either in-house or outsourced to a fab shop like the ones mentioned .
I am truly flabbergasted by how in depth you went and knowledge shared, this is as deep a dive as you can get. Excellently done and thankyou for your efforts.
I’ve seen this 4 times in IMAX and will probably see it 2 or 3 more times, and yes the seats rumble during the Batmobile scene, INTENSELY MEMORABLE , great video 😎
I just paused the video when you asked for like and subscribe. You know why, because you fuckin earned it. There is so much custom on this batmobile without loosing the "shit I recognize that" factor. You just answered every question I had and then some. I just want a lexam version of this body for my arrma felony.
Did you notice there are two C2 Vettes? One with large diameter "resto mod" style wheels, (moving under power) and one with steel wheels and stock for the era wheel covers (being pushed by the crew) One for interior shots and one for exterior?
20:00 "Might not be as pretty as what Lucius Fox gives you, but it will be intimetly yours!" -I built/made and styled my own MC, backpack, vest, knife, rc hotrod, several furniture and lamps... I actively try to build my world around me instead of buying it...
The Batmobile was my absolute favorite part of the movie, it's so freaking sick! This is an awesome video, I appreciate getting to learn more about the car and all the details you provided. Keep it up man, awesome vid!
As an avowed gearhead, and more than a bit of a comic fan.... well done. Well researched, arguably correct in all aspects, and certainly amusing. "Swings from vengeance to hope" is a nice turn of phrase, more so within context. Subbed. More like this.
Psssst! there's an alternator on the rear engine. It's right there on the passenger side. The pulley is facing *forward* to interface with the serpentine belt. Some OEMs actually do it this way for packaging. It's literally in the shot where you're saying that "power isn't being generationer by an alternator." :P
One more note - if you remove the balance bar between the two brake pedals on the running car, I wonder if you get steering brakes consistent with a dune buggy?
My very first thought.... was it looks like the "demon love child" that was created in the Fast and the Furious series,.... that got jumped off a cliff. Everybody remembers that car and how damn fine Ramsey looked!
As an automotive performance fabricator and someone new to video and editing, I really appreciate the work and research that you put into this video. But Keaton is still MY Batman
Awesome video man! It really does seem like the roof line is the only identifying part left of the donor car; I thought the prequel novel might confirm it's dodge origins, but alas. Hopefully we get some more bts details on the design of the batmobile, I've been curious about the second engine since we first saw the glow from the hood in the teaser two years ago. It'll be interesting to hear what the in-universe explanation is for how it all works.
I just looked at your subscriber count and I'm honestly shocked! You have the quality and research of a channel with 902,000 rather than the 902 you had before I subscribed. *Edit, I'm number 905, you had 902 when I started watching apparently and I hadn't refreshed.
Love you bring up up left to right and it's importance. I usually think about it in still images and written languages that go right to left and their art. Yet I also adore Duel to the Death for it's groundbreaking stay on one side of the fight and how it made it standard. Or whatever movie is credited as doing this. Unlike the latest Mortal Kombat movie that ignored it and is garbage because of it.
Seeing the movie it looked like the normal engine was in the front and the rear one was not a piston engine but a jet engine in disguise. The car is great as it blends in a little more than other batmobiles.
Got a like and subscribe from me. Yours is the best video on this new, and best, interation of the Batmobile. When it was powering up then finally goes, OMG its an endless exciting chase scene. Really good stuff... and great job by you..
Also i like that in the movies they give him a lot of rare or concept cars like the mercedes in the flash. Really shows the stupid money he has. They do the same with iron man
Could it be that the car was supposed to have 2 engines? The front provides power to the front wheels and electricity for the car and the rear acts as a sort of over-power mode driving the rear wheels when speed and 4wd is needed?
I have been in love with this Batmobile for a year now. And there is nothing but disinformation about it. I am so happy to come across your video. You did an actual breakdown of it. I'm no car guy, mainly due to mental stupidity and lack of finances, but it was so great to see this Frankenstein of a car explained. It is an actual horror movie monster! Subscribed.
Same! I had almost no interest in this movie when I heard about it, but when this car got teased, I think the first glimpse was on a Twitter post; I knew the car, and the movie, were going to be badass. I've never seen a car reveal as memorable as the Batmobile snarling and growling in the shadows; a hungry, angry, monster ready to hunt it's prey. So amazing! Ash Thorp did a stellar job on this. I hope nothing about it changes for the next movie.
OK, it's got two turbos mounted inside the cabin. So what's the central afterburner for ?? At 11:45 you can actually see the mesh filter in the turbo bell mouth. With the engine mounted between the rear wheels the axles would have to go thru the sump ala Skyline GTR. But of course a Hemi motor can't do that ! That Medway belt is only rated to 60deg C ! Engines get wayyyy hotter than that !!
Its not a Dodge Charger, its a 1971 or so Plymouth Cuda. The front end and rear lights, plus the roofline are more of a match to that. That side window placement has been altered and also the rear window where the jet engine is.
Hey Josh you said I think a motor running backwards would not work. look at a marine motor. because I think I might have seen this motor at my friends house. the motor I seen was a chevy vortex 8100 reverse rotation twin turbo v8 out of a cigar boat. it looked a lot like that and it was reverse rotation twin turbo. but I can not remember if it has. coils like a hemi or a BMW. yea probly not could have just customized a hemi with a reverse cut crank, like for a boat. that make sense to me. thanks Todd
You did an amazing job with this video. What people have to understand this is batman in his beginning years as a crime fighter so him and Alfred pretty much had to do everything from scratch. I hope eventually they show Foxx and he looks over and the batmobile and says I like what you did but I can do better.
I would absolutely love a scene where Bruce and Lucius collaborate a la Bruce Banner and Tony Stark (except it of course has to fit Matt Reeves's Batverse)
TWO BAT EARS ALL THE WAAAAAAY UP! That's how you do a youtube break down video on a fictional car! Confirmed what I believed about the BATMOBILE being a 68/69/70 DODGE CHARGER. After all, WARNER BROS. produced BULLET(with STEVE McQUEEN), BATMAN and THE DUKES OF HAZZARD! So wouldn't be surprised if the new BATMOBILE was originally a left over GENERAL LEE. Great freakin BAT-JOB brother!
Best cinema Batmobile EVER! Makes total sense that this Batmobile is very basic in comparison to previous Batmobiles. It’s very raw, à la Mad Max. Since this is his 2nd year as the Bat. I love that it’s crude and brute. Because everything is still a learning experience and Bruce Wayne is all emotional temperament. Not sophisticated nor knowing the advantage he can have by embracing or using his Wayne legacy. And you can see it in the Batmobile. I know it’s pure fiction. But it’s great that they can make a believable and practical vigilante Batmobile.
There are some conflicting sources that have since been released. Design-wise, it looks like another engine with too rich an air-fuel mixture, but I've also heard that it's just lights synced with the electric motor of the Tesla Batmobile. Aesthetically, on the big screen, I love it. It's just an added level of a threatening and vengeful Batman.
Truth be told I am a big car fan but I don’t know too much about specs and things like that however…this vid def brought joy to me to see you break it down bit by bit…still some things I don’t understand but the vid itself made me want to know more appreciate you
