Man I always have a tear in my eyes when you post. You do us a great service Prince. You don't know how much your voice is appreciated. Take care of yourself and yours.
That is a cool myth with great implications. Gmork obviously being related to the Orkz' Gork and Mork could explain alot; maybe the spirit of the Ork gods is truly that old and the Old Ones modeled the Orkz after said godlike entity.
Im so glad you made a video on this. Kroot are such a great part of 40k, and this single story adds so much depth to them in the setting. More 40k fans need to know about this.
Ok so my theory on the tyranids is they are borg from a different Galaxy with a single mind consisting of hundreds driving it, (Emporer of man), and it was a hive so it took its mission of unifying the Galaxy to fast, killed its galaxy and last resort moves to "ours". Very much borg but only a bugs mentality
Old ones made the Kroot. Later the Orks invade their world, the grey and brown of the Kroot slowly turns green as they ingest the bodies of the slain Orks. They gain knowledge from this(Shapers), some Kroot growing larger than normal (Krootox), some gain heightened senses, enhance muscle structure and strength. The knowledge gained from the aforementioned feasts of flesh, gave them the knowledge of space travel and advanced sciences. But also brought superstition closely related to the gods of the Orks.
Kroot are one of my favorite factions in 40k. I even built an all kroot army using the rules from chapter approved way back in the day. Also, having just finished Clonelord last night I can't help but wonder what would happen if Fabulous Bill got his hands on a shaper or two to study.
That would be a great idea, the later BSF novels have some interesting lore on the fortress' chaos corruption, ascension and interraction with zoats and jokaero
I tried to develop some resemblance of a mythology for one of my universes but it ended up too scientific and bland, good instructive material such as this always help to set the course back on the right track, mythology shouldn't make much sense on the surface and yet has to have some elemental truth to it, cooking a proper one is hard...
I feel this myth is presented to show unequivocally that the Kroot and Orks are somehow linked in their genesis. A true echo of the old ones, preserved only by the humble tradition and steadfastness of the Kroot species.
o yeah thats always been the lor. orks landed on pech kroot ate them gained tech knowledge went too advanced orks came again wiped out civ. they regressed to old ways but kept limited tech for ships guns etc
