Pretty sure it was Imperius. If the host is forced to become a physical manifestation of the warp entity, their flesh will adopt a form similar to that of the entity. The guardsmans eyes burned out and his nerves became null. Imperius has no eyes and his face is beneath a mask of metal, it has no nerves.
The Emperor asked Sly Marbo to help. Sly Marbo lent a little bit of his power to the bravest guardsman he could find. The guardsman became an Alpha plus psyker.
I used my infinite power and butt slapped Caleb's warp presence until a small lighthouse formed in the warp for a few second. I was sad because how the hell did this happen in the first place.
The god emperor is now a god to the beliefs of the imperium but before those belief we’re formed he was just a very powerful psyker with god like ability’s and yes I know the inquisition is on there way to me.
finally after 7 months trapped in the sewer i emerge to say that maybe it wasn't the emperor but a fraction of him... now back into secrecy... the inquisitors are a bit crazy today a day...
Interesting...the notion that Caleb was able to act as a conduit for the Astronomicon and a fragment of the Emperors power is certainly not without precedent. We must also take into consideration that in Plague War Kugath and Mortarion are wary of the fact that the Master of Mankind is active once more. Celestine and the rest of the pigeons not withstanding, the Emperor has no issues using mortals as conduits for his power. In the case of Calia her body simply could not withstand the damage. I also support the other potential theory in regards to what we learned in the novel Stormcaller....the process of "Awakening" where psionic powers flare to life....it's quite possible that the Emperor is using latent psykers as a way to activate his weapons in times of crisis. I will also take into consideration that since the Cicatrix maledictum opened the warp flows freely through the material realm. Since faith can be weaponized it is quite possible that such events are occurring more frequently.
I like to think the alpha legion's setting Kaleb up for the final battle on terra. Abbadon makes planet fall, demons everywhere, then boom. Double Astronomicon. Demons are banished, Abadon's powers are diminished, the warp rift on terra is sealed, and the emperor can be safely killed so he can resurrect, fully healed, and the alpha legion reveal their grand plan to finally end the Long War once and for all.
Man at this point, I just love all the book references in your videos so I too can educate myself and, of course, others of the Emperor's divinity~ KEEP up the great work you guys!
Okay quick fix. Have Vulkan, Dorn and Korvax stop hiding in the shadows and fix the throne, Astartes and everything else in between. While letting Gilman run the politics and Russ run the war. Tell Magnus to "get over it" and Alpharius to stop playing hide and seek and run the Inquisition. Oh wait crap there's already a RU-vid series about this. Can't wait for more Emperor's text to speech.
The give me a HUG bruva Magnus:no no more Vulkan:oh bruva i have 1000 more HUG FOR YOU COME HERE YA GIT MAGNUS:ahhhhhhhhh Dad will be happy every BONE AT A TIME he is a skull but also a ghost he a skost VULKAN-????-2019
Imagine being declared as a saint and then placed in the custody and *care* of the sisters of battle... without the whole the life support thing of course
Caleb would have more protection in a dreadnought in the care of space marines or imperial guard. The Sisters keep getting theirs asses handed to them.
@@poodlescone9700 Yeah its sad,and they DID get their asses handed to them by Kharn Sororitas are simply the Jobbers for the Imperium. And to make matters worse, their fellow guards were Imperial Fists, GW's OTHER favourite whipping boys. Its like the Imperium wanted to lose Caleb to the enemy.
They would see you like a mini Jesus, expected to be perfect at all times so know it wouldn't be fun, Its easier to be a saint when your dead, so no their would be no intimacy if that's what your thinking, they expect you to be praying 24/7
@@raptonsoul2557 Is it heretical that in a galaxy in constant war where you are only destined to die that after truly looking at a hated enemy that you can find something redeeming about them?
@@theeternalchronicler3072 no, then again I'm not even a human but a rak'gol who still think that they are weak creatures, but human give a better fight do, so don't trust the xenos brother
is it possible that cabel's body was simply was in better shape then the teenage girl's was or that he had some sort of genetic anomaly that allowed him to manifest The Emperor's power
Hmm. The alpha legion depicted here did not seem chaotic in nature, to me they seem to be loyalist alpha legion who may have taken Caleb to help them push back the warp for them after all why would alpha legion deamon followers need an Anti demon becon? Well mabey possible to hide from the astronomicon with a similar power but I doubt it.
Micheal Archangel I just finished reading Shroud of Night, which is about the Alpha Legion squad that captured Kaleb. While they absolutely despise the chaos gods and those who worship them, they are definitely not loyalists either, as they had no issue blasting through loyalist astartes, sororitas and guardsman (or khorne worshippers at some point). But we barely know anything about them, so it’s hard to confirm anything.
@@vel8923 Alpha Legion does not operate with such concepts. You cant say they are "definitely" not loyalists because they have no problems killing. Firstly, they are all sociopaths. They dont have problems killing, period. It doesnt make them disloyal. Second, they are secret agents. CIA, KGB, Mossad all in one, but even worse. They believe in their mission, at any cost. Thirdly, all such emotions are always removed from their minds. They are not just brainwashed, they are dried, spin, starched and folded neatly. They all believe they are Alpharius. If they dont have problems killing loyalists as part of a scheme, it only proves that they are Alpha Legion.
The Warhammer Podcast I found dark imperium to be very dull and I couldn't bring me self to care one iota about the primaries characters they where all so dull, even the fighting was dull and seemed boring as they waded though hordes of heretic space marines with all the ease of sweating a fly and even when it was mentioned one dieing I felt nothing.
Kind of silly, but could you include some references? Which Novels/sources you're getting the story here from. It sounds like one I would really like to read.
I can only imagine that Omegon wishes to get his hands on the boy in hopes for either helping the Imperium or using it against them. The Solar Priest having an Avatar form would prove great to Humanity.
Caleb hosting Imperious seems plausible, especially since the ritual that turns a psyker into an Astropath blinds the participant and can sometimes destroy other senses too, including touch. If he became host to what could be considered a highly condensed essence of the Astronomicon it would be expected that it would cost him more than most. Loss of sight and a loss of touch so intense it burns out all nerve endings would certainly fit.
1:15 - Well, they didn't like Big Papa Ultrasmurf returning... | 4:49 - The sons of what can only be described as a gamma-irradiated Conan the Barbarian. | 9:33 - Also Saint Drusus, he's the reason why Scintilla is a Shrine World and it's where the Maccabian Janissaries are recruited from. | What if Konrad Curze was found by the Emperor as he clawed his way out of the crater he made on Nostramo?
Scintilla is a Hive World that spits out incompetent nobles in fancy carapace armour, Maccabeus-Quintus is where the Maccabian Jannisaries are from, and Maccabeus-Quintus is the Shrine World, because Drusus died and was reborn there.
What did mankind use during the Horus Heresy before the Emperor was used as a beacon? I think Caleb is being used as a force of the Emperor. The energy that killed the girl before was just the Emperor getting familiar with manifesting through human beings. In Caleb the Emperor didn't kill him but burned out his eyes and nerves. The next will probably allow the Emperor to control himself through others in order to have a proper Avatar. He may even be able to speak through the Avatar and fight through the Avatar as well. Just a theory though.
The Astronomican's matience wasn't that hard until the Golden Throne's Webway portal was broken. (By Magnus) Even then the Emperor could keep it going, until he was critically wounded. It was only at that point that the Emperor had to be fed 1000 psychers a day to keep it running.
@@Sorain1 thanks so much! This helps to understand the history of the astronomicon. It's such a vital piece of technology, I wonder why only have one. I assume maybe there were more during the golden age of technology, but they were lost or degraded during the age of strife and/or as ignorance and superstition came more into play. But even with all the vast knowledge that the Emperor had, I assume without the use of an Astronomicon STC or blueprint of some kind... Not even he could have more than one astronomicon created. Thanks for the info. It makes since that the Emperor would try to hook the webway portal up to the astronomicon and when the webway was damaged it also damaged the astronomicon and cause the Emperor to be there to keep them both functioning now. Wow! What tremendous timing on the machinations of the Chaos gods. I almost would say the Ruinous powers are truly undefeatable (when working together) in a sense. They manipulated everything to a tee. Manipulating Lorgar, Erebus, The Mournieval, Horus, & Magnus to all play their parts at times and to play parts that didn't seem guaranteed... All to blow up in the Emperor's face. I mean the sheer act of keeping Magnus emotionally loyal enough, long enough, to cause the damage he did is just genius.
As per the novel, "Shroud of Night", the alpha legionnaires who took the guardsman did not seem to have fallen to Chaos. Assuming this is the case, and assuming the MO they followed in "Legion" has not changed in regards to the treatment of their living assets, the guardsman would likely be considered an "agent", which would mean he's in good hands. The Hydra protects its kin.
First off, thank you for this video! Very informative - at a guess, I would agree that Caleb's manifestation is tied in with the Astronomican and the Cicatrix Maledictum, though I suspect it may involve the rumors that the Astronomican is breaking down as the Adeptus Mechanicus's efforts to keep the Astronomican patched and working are losing their effectiveness. With the impending collapse of its current host, Imperius may have picked a new vessel, either to inhabit in a low-power state, or as a sort of no-frills backup. The Cicatrix Maledictum ties into all this because that rift has weakened the barrier between the Materium and Immaterium, making it easier for a powerful Warp entity like Imperius to find and jump into a suitable new host. As a more personal matter... Are you holding the microphone very close to your mouth, or directly in front of your face, when recording? Poppy consonants are sounding more heavily-plosive than usual, so (for example) "Caleb" begins to sound like "KaylePP". I'm not an expert, and still enjoy your content, but it was a little distracting.
The idea the Circatrix Maledictum might be created by the birth of Ynnead is interesting. The eye of terror was created by Slaanesh’s birth so what created the MASSIVE warpstorm shown in the centre of the galaxy? The massive psychic release of Ynnead’s birth combined with the destruction of the Cadian Pylons seems a likely combination.
I cant believe Ramiles left out the simmilarity of the Occular Injury to that of the Astropaths which occurs due to something called "soul binding", that prevents them from being posessed by demons ever after. It just adds fuel to the fire that whatever happened, it happened to the emperor as well, or is otherwise attributed to the Emperor.
@@40KTheories It appears to happen whenever a psyker encounters "a blinding golden light", be that the emperor, or something else. I have always wondered what that blinding golden light is: it appears to be a warp manifestation of "Order", but thats little more than an inference I made. Ramiles, something completely different: were you aware in the Drukhari codex it states that the Coven of the Hex isolated a virus from the Black Dragons geneseed and used it to create the Ossefactor weapons that Wracks employ?
Fascinating. A super psycher who had no power at birth but oneday awakened his powers and burned out his eyes. Now a blind, bald saint... Then the alpha legion showed up and threw a wrench in to things. Alpha plus psycher... that's cool
Unless there's a lot more time between the beginning and end of the Horus Heresy than I thought I think Samus and Kabander completely disprove that "100 years and a day" thing.
Can you do a video on the interex people I’ve just brought all the HH books I’m on book 3 at the moment, i’m really interested to find out what happened to them ?
assuming caleb is going to end up as nid bait, but to what end who knows. lure the nids away to buy a respite, or lure them into the heart of the imperium or eye or terror maybe?
It is strange that Caleb is a name shared by one of the two loyal spies of a dozen sent into Canaan during during the initial conquest of Canaan before the 40 years of wandering punishment upon the Israelites for not trusting the Lord. Given how 40k likes to borrow religious ideas from real life sources, I wonder if Caleb is one of two loyal vessels of the Emperor. I wonder where Joshua is?
The saint seems to know what the beacon is, as she deliberately chooses to let the Alpha Legion dudes capture it rather than the World Eaters or the Slanneshi Demon that manifested there, allegedly as they are the least damaging option. Quite something, actually, since they are renegade bastards anyway :)
I would love to see video "what would happen if man kind discovered different FTL drive. Like hyperspace from starwars or some variation of non warp teleportation that orcs used. "
Depends on when it happened. We know the Mechanus have a 'Void Impeller' drive that's basically an Accubare drive, aka star trek style warp drive. We know the Necrons have an 'Inertalless Drive' so damn fast they out pace nearly everything. If the Emperor managed to get a hold of it pre-heresy but as part of the Great Crusade, then we can expect him to lower the priority of his webway project, potentially meaning he waits on it until the Great Crusade is fully over, averting the Heresy as we know it. (Though we can be sure at least the Word Barers would revolt anyway.) If it was discovered at the current time frame, then the Mechanus would split over if they should adopt it or keep it hidden. Gulliman siding with the 'use it you twits!' side means a second Mechanus Civil war. But long term if it's fast enough to be practical, even just for supply routes, that is an enormous advantage to the Imperium.
Dude's probably sleeping the Sleep of his lifetime in the Alpha Legion's Dungeons. I mean, the Alphas likely want him asleep anyway, unless they want to carry a literal beacon with them all the time.
Imperial Soldier : "i may not know why this beacon has lit or even if thy beacon is a man of flesh and bone, this light has graced us with the blessings of the God Emperor via reinforcements in these dark and devilish times, we, the Imperial Guard, will hold out lines to the death!!"
Khorne is the current strongest Chaos God in 40k, like how Tzeentch was the strongest during the Dark Age of Tech, also Celestine isn't a Psycher she's an Imperial Daemon.
Consider again, that the Warp reflects and coalesces around beliefs and prayers of great power or numbers. Given the existence of the worship of the God-Emperor, couldn't a Warp entity form around these waves of psychic energy, a Warp entity that reflects the Emperor's fight against the Chaos Gods?
Here's one thing that I don't completely understand. Since the light produced from caleb burns away any form of demonic pressence or wounds them how was the alpha legion able to capture him in the first place? Since most of if not all of the traitorous astartes are tainted by the warp in some way or another.
Really depends which side can get the two true divine powerhouses of the Warp, Gork and Mork, to side with them. Assuming those two don't get involved... Emps has good odds, but the Chaos Gods do have a shot a victory.
Cegorach should be of a similar power to the other eldar gods, and we know that the weakest chaos god made short work of them. Ynneads ritual was interrupted so I doubt it could either. As for emps, it depends on how much his power has grown since he sat on the thrown. He his body dies and he is reborn as a warp entity I would say he could take on 1 god. And none of the C'tan can fight the chaos gods, as the C'tan can't go in the warp and the gods can't exist in real space
Does lore tell us what the original purpose of the Necron's pylons has been at that spot in the galaxy? The eye was not there when they were built was it not? So what were they good for? necron communication?
It all depends on which sect of the Alpha legion took him as there is no way to know, if they were the followers of chaos then it could have simply been to snuff out the light, if they were part of the Kabal it could be to keep him as a sort of weapon against chaos, and if they were the secret allies of the imperium then they could be protecting him until there is need of that light once again and not just wasted away at the whim of some greedy governor using him to build a light house port.
Hard to say what the Alpha Legion's goal is. They are both heretic and loyalist. Their actions are both a hindrance and a help to the Imperium. Maybe they are seeking to move Caleb and this new beacon to a location where that light can shine most brightly in a place of utter darkness. If they wanted to snuff it out entirely they would have just killed him, not captured him.
Fistimus Maximus remember the Ruinstorm, form the Horus Heresy? The Cicatrix Maledictum is the Ruinstorm 2.0, essentially. The Pharos, which allowed Loyalist forces to navigate the Warp during the HH. Caleb’s beacon was a version of the Pharos.
to be fair I consider those novels as new, remember reading the heresy back yonder in the white dwarfs spread over 2-3 of them but it didnt include alot of the new events.
Alpha legion has a secondary astronomicon? 100% this somehow causes them to warp into terra and assassinate the emp with equally loyal dark Angel's with nice hoods so they can save the imperium
