really liked that nobody was hating on sydney for wanting to be in the loop. lots of people hate on her wayyy too much for that. i kind of see it like if carmy doesn’t see her as a partner or in a leadership position, then she should be getting paid like the rest of his employees, instead of working for free like him and sugar. but i gotta give them both grace because this is carmys first time starting a restaurant and sydney’s first time doing it with a partner. there’s lots for both of them to learn. but ultimately, i think it wasn’t cool to ditch her when they only have 11 weeks to open 😬
Sydney is one of the head chefs so in essence she is a partner not a worker. You wouldn’t have a worker creating the menus and making decisions on staff and dining. Head chefs are like executives in a corporate structure. Great reaction!!!
Nah. Doesn't matter if Sidney is a girl or not. You made plans with someone but you bail out for something meaningless and not an emergency. That would make you a bad friend and/or co worker.
@@kentubuchi6899not an emergency is accurate, but “meaningless” is out of pocket and simply an opinion on your part. It had great meaning to Carmy which is why he did it. They are friends which is why he was more easily dismissive of the plans. Friends would understand he’s also going through personal things he’s got to work out and deal with. Feelings and people he has to deal with. Sydney isn’t really his friend….. she’s a fan that got close and has found herself in a student/partner position. She doesn’t know how to be a student so he made her a partner but she’s not capable enough on her own to function like a partner or leader in his business. She’s impatient and he’s mentally unstable. She knows but doesn’t care as long as she gets what she wants out of it. It’s his business he can cancel and take breaks all he wants.
The guy/girl thing has nothing to do with Claire especially since sydney didn’t even know. It is with the communication about the walls. As a guy often you wouldn’t even think to contact because it is something that is happening no matter what. So they are saying that the only reason they think it’s a big deal is because she is a girl and that she is bringing personal feelings into it
Just to clear up any confusion about the timeline from the beginning of the episode with the montage of restaurant closings and references to COVID, the show is currently set in February 2023 in this episode. So pretty long after things had mostly gone back to normal in the world after COVID. Mikey died in February 2022, and the series begins in June 2022, four months after Mikey's death.
Someone pointed this out to me but whenever Sydney was talking to those other chefs and they all got real nervous talking about partners. She never actually told them she was working with Carmy. Who remember is a big big deal in the cooking business. So I bet you money, had she actually mentioned that she was working with Carmen Berzatto all of their concerns would have disappeared. Some of them probably would have asked to meet him, maybe get an autograph.
I really don't like "love interests" types of characters. They are mostly the same and not very interesting. Shows and movies have a habit to force romances when it isn't needed or necessary or interesting.
