Mike, once again you transcended this gem of a song into an elucidating light to further reveal the Beatles’ greatness. Even though John conceived the song, each Beatle (sans Ringo as you revealed) contributed in their own powerful style to complete this masterpiece. What is also remarkable are your vocal background harmonies in your sound-alike. I’ll bet that tracking those the way you did may have been even more rigorous work than breaking down the guitar parts. Those harmonies are integral for rounding out this song and you sound perfect! Incredible how you do that! Thank you for a marvelous lesson and teaching about this song’s history. What a great way to start my morning experiencing your gift of the Beatles’ “Dear Prudence.”
Great lesson Mike. One of my favourite JOHN songs, in fact, one of my favourite songs of all time. Beautiful music and a very personal message. The picking pattern is, well, challenging but is a key element. I think it will take me more than 50,000 times to learn it. Watching and listening to your masterful sound alike, I realised how towards the end of the song George’s lead answers JOHN‘s vocals, but somehow stays with the musical theme and builds to the ending. Simple and brilliant at the same time. Thank you for the work you do and your superb musicianship.
