"Once again George being the epitome of good taste." That's because he was a real "team player." It was always about the song. Never himself. Thanks Mike, great detailed lesson on a great Beatles classic.
There are a lot of Beatles lessons on RU-vid but NOTHING beats this channel which teaches the songs with accuracy and completeness as well as a background into the songs to help us understand the song and the band. Mike Pachelli does his due diligence and spends time researching before creating these videos and that is something I really appreciate and am very thankful to him.
1tpmg - Thanks but truth be told - it's not that I "know" the history of each song. I just do A LOT of research and take notes before hand. But at my age - I forget everything I said the next day!! lol
You are a legend amongst us Beatle guitar loving fans! It’s fab that you give the detailed history behind the tracks as that adds sooo much to the songs & the genius that is/was the Beatles! Or as John would say, ‘the butles’ 😁
I never heard John say that. Thanx Mike. Appreciate your effort. Fun stuff, and its a rainy day! Hey did you ever notice how George made up so many of those "turn arounds" I call them his "here come the sun things"
Hi Mike, you present a wonderful take, may I say on all the Beatles work since their notoriety in the early 60s and they certainly would not have been easy to emulate, without your immense knowledge of the said group and how you convey to all Beatle fans, of which I am one. But I have one small request could you possibly include Mr McCartney's bass ingenuity as I think that deserves some recognition also. Many thanks Mike, I am so grateful to be a recipient of your RU-vid channel. Ronnie.
I've been playing guitar for 55 years, but as I watch your videos, it turns out that I've played up to 10% of beatles songs correctly so far. Thank you, Professor Mike. We are always looking forward to your new performances. The number one Beatles expert is Mike Pachelli, the most brilliant band of all time is the Beatles!
I do wish you and RU-vid were around when I was learning these songs . It sure would have been easier than stopping the LP every chord change and getting it close thanks for all the history, fun facts and such it's like the Beatles are a new band. And what a band they were! Thanks again.
One of the many great things about the Beatles is that you've heard their songs all your life, and every once in a while you hear a little something that you never noticed before. Now Milke just showed us a whole bunch of them at once! And another perfect example of George giving a song just exactly what it needs.👍👍
I’m always amazed at how many chords the Beatles used in their songs. Certainly not a 3-4 chord band. Their upbringing in the clubs and their vast repertoire of songs of many genres really taught them well! Their songs hold up because they are so good! Plus, to get all those amazing changes, here, in less than 2 1/2 minutes-astounding!!
Mike! What a hero! Absolutely love your videos! I’m “George” from a UK Beatles tribute called the Fab Beatles. We formed in 1991 and did amazingly well. We’ve recently regrouped (after many years apart) as an acoustic 3 piece (John, Paul & George) as we just ❤️ playing Beatles tunes :) Back in the early 90’s we didn’t have the luxury of the internet, so I used to painstakingly pick apart George’s guitar parts by ear. In many cases I got it right, but your videos have been a huge inspiration and help to me, as I quite clearly got things “not quite right” in many other songs! 😆 A huge thanks to you and your brilliant channel! 😊👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Love your enthusiasm - keep up the good work! Ady, Exeter, Devon, England
Thank you for clarifying how Harrison came up with the turnaround..I wondered for years how he came up with that but it just proves how immensely talented he actually was.
I remember absolutely loving this track when it first came on the radio - I was intrigued by the descending guitar bass notes on the chorus, but it was like a happy/sad song, a strange mix of emotions, I was all of 7 years old at the time, I still love this song
When john strums on all the videos I've seen he doesn't even look like he's concentrating... its like he's thinking of something other than what he's actually doing... its like it's all such a breeze for him... even on let it be he's constantly joking about or clearly thinking of something else...just a natural
Perfect lesson as usual! Exactly like you said in the video I always thought John was just straight strumming. And boy, oh boy, I am shocked how much wrong I was. Thanks to your lessons I now know that Lennon's rhythm guitar playing was far more complex than I could ever imagine. Also I must say that your vocals here are OUTSTANDING! Great job.
That is such a great uplifting song, i don't know that it could be written these days by the durge that occupies the charts with all their sad sorrowful songs. Only John Lennon could write such a joyous song during his darkest moments. Great tutorial.
It is indeed amazing to see 57 years later how young men just a few years in their twenties could find this great sound. thanks to Mike for explaining.
A day off work, nice weather, a cup of tea and Mike and Ringo appear.... Stunning Mike, please keep the facts coming as well, some we know, some we've forgotten but you've a knack for digging out some gems I've never heard. Somebody mentioned above about hard copy lessons, can only agree, I've a couple of Beatle dvd lessons from years back that I often return to. As for the playing I've always thought his rhythm guitar a cut above the rest, absolutely love your 12 string rendition. Have to hold myself back from skipping forwards to your version on each video.
Yet another amazing tutorial come history lesson! As mentioned so may times, George was an absolute genius too and I'm aghast at the maturity and creativity of those guys at such a young age! Thanks again Mike. How on earth you get into the detail of what they do and don't do is truly amazing but you are an incredible media for spreading the joy and genius of the boys. Can't wait for the next one!
You have to love his knowledge and presentation. These videos and lessons are so professionally well done it blows me away. I have always known what brilliant musicians the Beatles were and have virtually loved ALL of their work! Thank you so much for your contribution to this fantastic group that has most certainly been one of the biggest creators and influencers in the modern music era!
I love the way you break down all the parts. Most of which I’ve never really been able to figure out. I certainly appreciate all the hard work you put into this. The snippets you talk about on the back story to the songs is really great. Thank you Mike!
What a passionate and erudite demonstration and performance ! As a guitar player and singer i really appreciate your work and how it helps to understand the greatness of the Beatles songwriting and musicianship. Bravo !
You are the greatest, I can only imagine the massive amount of work that goes behind these lessons, from filming to recording, mixing all the parts, editing, and researching for the back story, wow! We greatly appreciate your talent.🎸🥁🎙🎤🎼🎵✌
Anthony - Thanks for noticing. And yeah - each lesson takes the better part of an entire week. Me working from 9am to 10pm breaking only for meals. Whew. I get tired just thinkin' about it!
@@MPfrance lol, I thought so. I would just do 1 multi track song and that took hours, but I never did all the other things you do, that is incredible dedication, you are amazing! Rock on
Great video Mike - this video is instructive but also very entertaining in the way you show how the Beatles put it together with all the little nuances. I thoroughly enjoyed all 26 minutes.
I've played guitar my whole life and a big Beatles fan. I enjoy your videos emensely! You capture all the subtleties of the Beatles greatness on guitar! When you break this stuff down and analyze it, it's unbelievable! You are the professor at this! Great job! Thanks!
Mike, the way you break down the chords and explain each step is so great. I’ve been a novice player for years but your videos are really helping me to progress with some challenging content.
Thanks Mike , you have done an incredible amount of work replicating this song . I doubt that anyone else can get any closer to the quality of this Beatles song . Well done 👍 thanks !
Let’s all help Mike Pachelli hit the 100k subscribers mark. He puts a lot of effort into these lessons and the least we can do for him is push a button and subscribe to his channel.
Thank you Mike.. as much an inspiration to us as The originals. I love the Beatles, and you are my go-to. Thank you so much and happy New Year may bless may this year bless you and all of us.
What a splendid job you do breaking this all down. Truly remarkable catching all of the nuances in the strumming and then adding in the simple but effective lead parts. You opened up my thinking on a few of my songs and to get a more distinct sound. Thank you for providing this and I will be listening to the song next time with a lot more respect.
So grateful for having found your channel, I had already looked for tutorials on how to play this song before but every time I compare it with yours I realize that there is a lot to improve. The same was with Ticket to ride! THANK YOU!
I was a Beatles fan after seeing them on Sullivan, and became a BIG fan upon the release of Help! Your analysis of rhythm guitar parts on this song are par excellence, Mike, and show Lennon's impish, iconoclastic side of his playing.
Thank you for this! I really appreciate the level of detail and commentary. Truly one of the greatest pop songs ever written, and the arrangement is beautiful and logical. If only I could hit that high C#!
As usual, that was over the top incredible Mike! It always amazes me at how intricate and musically sophisticated their songs were. Hard to beat the lads from Liverpool! Thanks for your Beatles lessons & hope that you are doing well! 👏👏👍👍🎸🎸🎤🎤👍👍👏👏
Nothing you can do to top this…but you will.! I bought the old bootleg Yellow Dog with the 9 takes. Although I’m not a musician, I was immediately aware that this apparently simple song that I had been listening to since it was released was superbly and complicatedly played by John. I listened to this in my car every day for months on end, strumming the gearshift knob as accurately as I could while singing along. Seeing your video, I don’t think it was weird anymore! You’re amazing.
