A great historic/educational relic from February 19th 1965. Part of my Chronological Beatles series. This is what the Beatles looked like, what they wore, the instruments they played and the guests that visited them in the studio this day in history. Even though I like the video from the Help movie more than this video, this is what the Beatles were actually wearing and what they played during the recording of this song. A fabulous historical document. As can be seen John was playing the Blue Strat instead of the Gibson acoustic as shown in the movie. Without these photos no one would really know that. I hope you subscribe so I can keep making more of these educational videos as they are a great insight to how the Beatles made music.

His voice was so genuine that it was overwhelming at times. One of the better rarer Beatles tines where he sang exceptionally in the early days, was "When I Get Home." His voice was like a pile driver, nailing it all the way through, and backed by those lovely "whoa-oh-ahhh!" backing parts. I think the single version of "Revolution" was just about the best rocker I ever heard. It sounds as though he is right next to your ear, telling you that it's time for a revolution. Turns out he was right all along; too bad more people didn't act on his remarkable message. Sure, McCartney was immensely talented as well, but his attitude seems contrived; he was a diplomat, where Lennon and Harrison were like Joe Friday in "Dragnet" "The whole truth and nothing but the truth."

Do you notice the line 'If you don't take her out tonight'...how John sings it more softly in the last verse?...what a incredible touch, he must have really thought that out....it's the little nuances like that are just part of what made him a special singer.

Yep. Then he belts out the next line. My favorite part of this song has always been Paul and George’s backing harmony. And when John joins them in the chorus (“I’ll make a point of taking her away from you…”)…so good.

One of the most underrated songs the Beatles have ever done! The song about one mistreating his GF and one looking on with want in his heart but also having the gall to face him and tell him he will take her away from him if he doesn't treat her right. And what sets it up is his desire for her with his lonely heart "you'll be the lonely one (your not the only one)" here he shows his lonely heart and the love in his heart for her !! Classic writing with the back and forth responses sort of motownish! Love this great song by the boys but especially the outstanding rocking voice of John Winston!! Rock on Beatles!!

The best ever! My God, there has never existed such a gifted ensemble as; The Beatles, they captured every mood, every anxiety and everything else related to human experiences in life, their magical originality and musical genius will live on forever. Many have tried to match their unquestionable contribution to the music industry, be it in lyrics, rhythm or variations in composition, alas, they still have no equal, I doubt they ever shall, astonishingly unique and fondly revered for all time.
@wfvesely

One problem with the Beatles is when you are so prolific and write so many great songs, Sometimes a song like this kind of gets lost in the cracks and doesn't get the recognition it deserves. If any other group recorded a song like this it would be their top song whereas with the Beatles it's judged as just another song which is too bad. I've always loved everything about this song, so many things about it I can't tell them all.

Funny though. The bongo playing is way off at times, getting worse towards the end. If you try to reproduce the part, you‘ll find no usable pattern. And Ringo doesn‘t have an ending or he just missed it. 😁 George‘s Strat solo is not in tune. And the mix swallows John‘s rhythm guitar and Paul‘s piano almost completely. The reason why nobody cares probably is the great singing.
@snice.
@snice. 2 года назад
@@richardervins You’re right, the song’s not perfect, instruments and vocals are out of tune, and it’s not even in tune to 440 hz pitch 🤷‍♀️ But I was thinking the fact that it’s random is what makes the bongo part kind of cool. These “mistakes” are a nice contrast to much of music today where everything is fixed, tuned, and cut to the point where it’s robotic.

This is an exceptionally fun song to listen to. I sang this in a cover act, and it was great. Man, if you have a good ear on you (I sure do) one can hear the pitch change from the intro into the main verse. Though were many imperfections in their finished songs, though George Martin was a fine, fine producer. I think their musical shortcomings and the production flaws highlighted their very "human" sound, especially on songs like "Yes It is" and "This Boy." The Beatles were not about perfection, excepting maybe Paul, whose excessive need to perfect his songs almost single-handedly destroyed The Beatles, never mind Yoko and Linda. To be fair, they had all had enough of The Fab Four, excepting Macca. It's neat to hear a Stratocaster in a Beatles song; It was one of the first times that the 1961 Strat would be be employed on a Beatles record.

This is the final song yes. But it's a different earlier mix than the one released on the Help LP. Slight differences in the sound. I have another version as well with an unused mix that is slightly different than this one. Same take which is take 3. They only did three takes of this song, and the other two takes were incomplete. This is the only complete version of the song that exists. The difference here is that it is NOT the final mix as done in the control room later. That's all. And the photos are from this recording session the same day they recorded "Lose That Girl". So "in the recording studio" in this case is referring to the photos and therefore is NOT BS.
