Here's a lesson on this LEGENDARY song by the Beatles. Their first song professionally recorded & produced as John, Paul, George & Ringo. Chart & Tabs at: www.MikePachelli.com
I was one of those dudes who learned those 50-60's "cowboy chords". Thanx for cluing me into the "jangly" Beatle versions. It's things like that that keeps me coming back to you, Mike. You're the greatest.
I actually always loved this song. My father traveled a lot and brought home (to the U.S.) some early Beatles recordings in 1963. Loved them then, love them now. Sad, that Era is passing....
Absolutely brilliant. My 6 year old son is learning the electric guitar and me on the accoustic - we've begun 'Love me Do' and are really enjoying it! Thanks for sharing Mike.
I enjoy watching your videos. I can no longer play, (arthritis), but your breakdown of chords and technique makes me appreciate these classic songs even more. Thanks.
Loved it do! Mike you are the best ! Your back story and your one man Beatle is so spot on ! Thanx for teaching all ,the right way to play this classic Beatles tune! Thanx mate!
That was really awesome Mike! I love how you always discuss the history of how the song was recorded. Your version of that song is off the charts amazing! Thanks for keeping the music alive. Keep up the great work. 👍👍😉😉
Hello Mike you are amazing, I was 15 years old in 1962 and when i heard this I thought who is this , and I was hooked immediately .I am now 75 and play my guitar and harp rack in my bedroom to beatles songs , and I am still enthralled by everything about them. Someone said the Beatles were a cosmic happening and George said their spirit flew into Monty Python. Thank you Mike for keeping the Beatle flame burning bright .Bill from Lancashire England.
Just found you and, well, that's an amazing lesson. Intelligent, informative, easy-to-follow, and then a performance at the end for us to play along with. Brilliant work that you made look like fun.
Endlessly impressed with your ability to hear the tiny little things that make ALL the difference.Your love for the subject is evident.Great stuff Mike.
I have just discovered you. What a pleasure to listen to your lesson! Thank you!!!! I also liked a lot your introduction telling the story of the song. Wonderful.
Mike, you are a keen observer. Your explanations of the nuances of the Beatles' playing are so insightful. The French thinker, Ernest Renan, said, "Truth is in the nuances." So is the music. Thanks again for an excellent lesson, Mike. BTW, I shared the link to this video with my young grandson. He really liked it, too.
Mike I have just watched your video on playing the classic love me do. I use to be able to play this song many years ago. Somehow I had forgotten how to play it along with other classic songs. But your lesson on playing has certainly been a big help. Your knowledge on the Beatles is amazing
Merci beaucoup ; vos vidéos nous permettent d'avoir une bonne pédagogie sur les rythmes et donc de ne pas faire d'erreur. Thank you so much ; your videos allow us to have a good pedagogy on the rhythms and therefore not to make mistakes.
I got to hear this live at the Brighton Hippodrome all those years ago, it’s taken me this long to start learning Beatles songs. They’re great songs, thanks for the tutorials 👌
Thanks Mike - you really ARE talented, my friend. The lesson and demonstration were both great, but I particularly like all the back story you gave us as well. Thanks a lot matey - really informative and appreciated by this humble old man who can just about make a noise with his guitars! 😂 Regards, Dave
Really really enjoyed the song and how its played totally awesome.really enjoyed the information about pete best and ringo and information about the song things I didn't know but was very interesting.really appreciated you Mike, possibly make me a better guitar player.
The version with Ringo on drums (the best one, I agree with Mike), before "Past Masters" was restored in 1980 for the first track on the Capitol "Rarities" LP.
Great lesson. Leonard Bernstein said that this song evoked for him Indian music-this was way back when, before the Beatles went to India and George learned to play the sitar.
you got like that John Lennon kind of look, and that's fine by me, because that will keep the Beatles alive for a much longer time. i'm a Beatles fan and yours too. thanks so much, man !!!!
Very good! When you harmonize with yourself it seems to create that certain "shrill" reminding me of Lennon/McCartney vocals around 1963-64 (i.e. "There's a Place" or "No Reply"). Very enjoyable!
Great video Mike. Fascinating details of the nascent Beatles recording. Poor old Ringo. Why didn’t GM rate him? I live in Uk and have relatives in L’pool and I was 11 in 1962. You had to be there.
When I first heard "Love me do" The Beatles/I could hear a similarity to The Everly Bros. .Cathy's Clown. to me very similar, Except the Everly's were really up on higher vocal range effortlessly, "I feel that the Beatles were also inspired by the Everyly's. that's my opinion. I was born in that era a Baby Boomer, From the Doo Wop days. All the way to the Beatles and beyond.
