I agree Mike is great This is the first song on the album Later in the album they do a second version of Sergeant peppers which is faster and more rock ‘n’ roll Mike please do a RU-vid video on that song thanks Richard
Hi Mike, I’ve been playing guitar for over 50 years now( where’s that gone!?) and you are by far the best guitar lesson tutor I have ever had the pleasure to follow. Perfection, interesting, methodical and inspiring. Thank you Mike
This blew my mind and most of the world when it came out. It’s hard to imagine how talented these guys were to lay down these amazing tracks that people will still be loving a hundred years from now.
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone approach the level of accuracy as you do. Nowhere have I seen those 3 finger chords for this song and yet the moment you hear it you realize you are absolutely right.
It's one thing to be able to dissect and reproduce all those guitar parts; it's quite another to be able to lay the drums down and perform that incredible vocal, mixing it all together perfectly. Well done!
I'll write again: You're the number one Beatles expert worldwide. Don't stop! These four boys were simply geniuses, creating brilliant music. John was the atomic nucleus.
Learning just a couple of songs from you is like a lifetime of guitar lessons. Thanks so much! If I win the lottery I would certainly pay you back for all you've done for music and guitar teaching.
Your videos are the thing I look forward to most on RU-vid. Also thanks for the Beatles history lesson always learn something I didn't. Keep up the Fab work
Nailed it! It never ceases to amaze me how each part, played by it self, sounds like it won't add up to the whole. Then when it comes together it is perfect. Much like how flour, sugar, milk and an egg can make a cake. And in this case, all done with the heart of a teacher. Bravo.
Every evening when my wife is cooking dinner, I'm in the living room with the big screen learning another Beatles song. These videos are great! It's like having John and George explaining what they did. Great job, I really love your channel. You're an excellent musician and teacher.
Now that was really over the top Mike! No one can break down these Beatles songs like you! Never realized how complex that song was. Once again your lesson shows the pure musical genius of Paul & the band! Hope that you are doing well & staying safe over there! 👍👍👏👏
You've remarked before that George, a young, self-taught, by-ear guitarist was so inventive and had remarkable fretboard knowledge and intuition, given his age and experience. Out of context, his fills you demonstrated seemed glitchy and a bit random. But when recorded, added to what was already laid down, it was brilliant. I've been listening to this song since 1967, and I heard his parts, but never heard them this way. Thanks for showing us this.
When I was playing in the 60s, I had never met anyone who took lessons. I wish I had known Mike P. back then! haha. Not possible I guess. But I do enjoy hiw stuff now. Its so nice to know the "whole story " as well.
Yes, question where Were You Mike " in the early seventies could have done something now is better than never .I tried to figure this one, how do You do it?
One of your absolute best, Mike. The deconstruction of this complex, layered, overdubbed recording is perfect, and your instruction was first-rate. This is a triumph.
I keep learning more and more from George's playing. Such tasteful additions with his characteristic restraint (something I'm still working on) -- love it!
"Sir" Mike Pachelli, You Are, Without A Doubt, The 5th Beatle. And So Very Masterful. Your Dynamic Skills Are Amazing. I'm Always In Complete And Utter Awe, As I Watch, Listen And Learn Your Techniques. I Thank You Also Mike, For Being The Kind, Friendly And So Humble Person You Present. What An Amazing Human Being You Are. Also May I Say, Thank You As Well, For Knowing All That You Do About The Beatles. I Know Much, A Friend Of Mine Knows A Bit More, But You Know All There Is To Know About The Once In A Lifetime Time Band From Liverpool. Peace From San Antonio, Texas, Brother. 🎶🎸✌😎
Hi Mike…I’m writing to just thank you for not mentioning politics or the state of America and the world during your podcasts. Small thing but it makes your station a happy place to go. 🙂
Phenomenal content as always, Mike. What a fantastic time it is to be a Beatles fan, with Get Back and Paul's book it feels like another layer of history has been uncovered. I'm sure people will use your videos as a reference for decades to come, they are so detailed and your enthusiasm for the greatest band of all times is infectious!
MAN!!! This is beyond magnificent!! I can't think of any words to describe the amount of hard work you put into this complex production. I wish Paul could somehow see this and comment on your fine work... How can he not be amazed?
I always wondered if you would ever tackle this one as it is much more complicated then most of the Beatles songs and of course...you nailed it. Bravo. Cheers from Ottawa, Canada.
Absolutely brilliant and amazing Mike...never would have known all the intracacies in this song without you dissecting it. I can see you're a huge fan... as I am too.
Great job Mike, love the backstory. I never realized Paul played such a major role in so many of the songs we've been listening to and thinking all the fellas chipped in equally.
I noticed you have a Privia. I had a privia slab myself. Casio got serious! I can't imagine the amount of work that went into this... you are the best. I love the biographical notes throughout. Thank you so much!
Fantastic job as usual. George's part really added a lot to the tune, the little fills really give it the feel and unique quality it has, in a way its a lead part too, hevloves those odd voicings! Thanks
Can't believe I can actually play all of the guitar parts of this song now. I've figured out some pretty complex guitar on my own before, but Sgt. P always seemed too hard to do (I mean beyond playing the basic chords). But to make it sound just like the record! You have totally nailed it! Thank you for showing me this! I am now a better guitar player!
I enthusiastically agree with the positive comments already made by so many of your other viewers. I always appreciate your attention to the seemingly small details and nuances that make such big differences to the final sound of the song as a whole. Absolutely top-notch, Mike!
Very cool, sounds right and easy to play, cheers The Beatles were one of those bands that hardly used normal major chords, which made their songs sound so original and unique
Absolutely superb Mike! Thank you for making these videos. They do more than analyze the genius of the Beatles, they also stir my imagination and creativity in creating my own music.
Mike, I am a guitar player for over 40 years and I must compliment you on your videos. They are easy to understand and most importantly, spot on! Keep up the great work.
Wow Mike. I've just caught up with this. Fantastic! It's well worth the effort and time you put in to make this tutorial. Once again thank you so much.
Mike, you've done an amazing job of breaking down the components of the individual parts of the song. I think each of the Beatles may have just ad-libbed their parts in the studio, but were so in tune with each other, they instinctively knew what to play to produce the final result. Your final representation of the song was pretty accurate and I love your historical analysis of how the song evolved in the recording studio.
I have watched many of your truly excellent Beatles breakdown/tutorials but gosh, this is right up there with the best. That has got to be one of the most difficult to pick apart but the technical explanation along with the incredible technical presentation is a masterpiece. Many congratulations on this and your brilliant channel generally.
@@MPfrance -- No Mike; I misspoke. I should have said not only that "nobody is better," but indeed, "no one is even your equal." You have unlocked the subtleties and secrets to many of the Beatles songs that I have tried (but never could) figure out on my own. Thank you so very much!
Mike, I sincerely believe you should be awarded an honorary knighthood or MBE (like the Beatles) for your dedicated work, study and furtherance of the interest and appreciation of Beatles music. You have increased the understanding and knowledge of how these unique tracks were created with your outstanding musicianship, skill and deep love of this music, which is completely infectious. (If you can’t be knighted, I hereby bestow on you the title of honorary Beatle for your immense knowledge and undeniable connection to this great music.)
I really love what you do and have learned so much from you. Your well prepared charts from your website along with all your inspiring and helpful RU-vid videos have taken me to the next level of playing and will undoubtedly continue to help improve my playing! Keep on doing this great work for us Beatles fans! Thank you for bringing a lot of joy to many people😊🙏
I admire you Mike!!!!!! All the time that takes to do this and you share with us!!!!! I really appreciate it!!! Very talented!!!! Blessings from Uruguay man!!!! Thank you
Mike, I absolutely love your Beatles song renditions, certainly the most authentic. I would love to see you include the bass parts as part of the lessons, I think Paul is an underrated very rich bass player.
Gchord - I've answered this many times so with all due respect here's my cut and pasted answer: It takes the better part of an entire week for me to do one of these lessons on the guitar parts. Research, figuring out, deciphering, memorizing, videotaping, recording audio, editing video & audio, creating chord blocks in PhotoShop, mastering, bouncing.wav files, writing out the chart & tabs, inserting video clips, bouncing to mp4., uploading to RU-vid (the upload alone takes 6 hours) etc. etc. etc. I do all this by myself. I'm a guitarist. I teach guitar. I do play bass. But to also teach the bass as accurately as I do the guitar parts would add another day or two of work and make the videos more than 30 minutes long. Most viewers don't even watch the entire video. A RU-vid clip can earn 1 - 3 cents per ad view - but EVERYBODY skips past the ads and that GREATLY decreases the revenue potential. So, with a wife and son to feed, it's not even cost effective for what I'm doing now. I used to NOT include the bass (video) in my lessons but I do now include it for the student to (at least) see how it was done. In RU-vid, you can slow the video down to half-speed and perhaps figure the bass part out by yourself. That's how old guys like me learned how to play songs. By slowing down the records to half-speed. Hope you understand.
Great video as always Mike, I always loved the guitar tones in this song and it's always fun seeing all the nuances that I never picked up before when playing with the actual records. Still hoping to see a video on Hey Bulldog or If I Fell at some point
