I like it when Mike casually remarks at the end of each tutorial, "Hey! Let me play the whole thing, just for fun" ...Then goes on to do an epic, one-man cover.
Just convinces me more than ever that there will never be anyone like them again. With the hundreds of incredible songs to choose from “She’s a Woman” is undoubtedly one of my favorites.
George's solos are so brilliantly simple. The song's chord structure is so simple. The song's accent on the offbeat is genius! Paul's voice goes perfectly up an octave on the first two words of the song. Ringo's holds it all together. They were geniuses goofing-off and having fun. I'm a 1st generation Beatles fan since1964 at the age of 11. Today's young people don't get it when I'm smiling as l listen to this song after 55 years.
We were lucky to live when we did. Imagine all the people that don't know the impact of the Ed Sullivan show; the day before vs. the seachange that happened that night. I was 11 in '64 as well. 🎵🎶
@@cuda426hemi So late to the party. If appreciating the impact upon America just as it had us *in 1962* , we always laugh at you juxtaposed with irritation at the self-absorbed egocentric arrogance of Americans who think The Beatles were only discovered ....thanks to Ed Sullivan ....in 1964! And of course, I agree with you about lucky generation to have experienced what we did. I just wish we could have been spared America's wannabe contribution of The Monkees. o.O
Worth noting that to keep such a rock solid rhythm through a whole song is a lesson in itself. People don't realize how much of a committment real musicians make to solid rhythm -- this is a good lesson, John is really as impressive here as with the fancier stuff.
"She don't give boys the eye!!!!!" Sing it Mike! Love it. 2:54. George laid down a nifty solo on it. so creative, he was. And I love the bits you are showing, how he vamps under Paul's vocal, sweet. Great job Mike!!! Thanks.
John, your knowledge of the Beatles music and your command of the fingering detail and nuances is phenomenal. Thanks for adding to The Beatles body of Work.
Wow, John's and George's parts... I just knew you were going to pull out a Hoffner 500/1 and lay down the bass line. This is exactly what I think of when I imagine McCartney writing a song with the Motown/Chess vibes. One of my favorite McCartney rockers! The song at the end was great, you really nailed the vocals. As always, much obliged and very impressed! Take care!
Once again a great job on a classic Beatles Rocker. Your vocal was Outstanding . Everytime I watch one of your Beatles lessons I pick up some new trick to add when I play these songs myself. I don't play them exactly as recorded as you do. I could never remember all the nuances in their so called basic Guitar playing on the records. George the best ever at the less is more style of lead/fill Guitar playing. I think he was at his best on the earlier recordings as later their songs had so many other instruments that the Guitar became less important to the songs. To me 1964-1966 Hard Days Night thru Revolver period were Georges best work on the recordings. Yeah I know he did get stuff later, Something, Hey Bulldog, etc. Thats just my feel on things.
Funny 'She's A Woman' is my favorite Beetles song. Now I know why. I was just a child when I fell in love with the guitar on this song. Thanks for breaking it down for me Mike.
Mike You never cease to Amaze Me***** You are with out a doubt one of the Best guitar players I have know about in my 59yrs on this earth. And I have seen some of the Greats live.. Thanks for all you do God Bless Brother****
Wow! That Gretsch. Fantastic. Clarity. Tone. Quality. Quality playing and singing as well . Wow! I was 14 that night of Ed Sullivan Show. Wow! Tiny, grainy, black and white T.V. But. Wow! "Those were the days." We saw Elvis Prestley, too, from the waist up on Ed Sullivan. LOL. It was considered too riskay to show all of Elvis. LOL.
I love that solo! Thank you so much for breaking it down. EDIT: I keep listening to this over and over. It gets better every time. Almost all of the other "how to" videos miss it, but you nail it and show us how to nail it. You, Mike, are a national treasure.
I can't follow a lot of what he's doing but man he knows those songs in and out. Great Vox/Gretsch sound too. Love the way those two guitar parts weave through each other. Singing that lead isn't easy either. Impressive work.
Great Presentation of this Classic Song!! One of my Favorites, but also the First Song to Showcase Reggae Beat on Rhythm Guitar!!! Not The Police! Thank You John!! 🎸🎸🎸🎶🎵🎶🎵
Man I love listening to you and The Beatles. I'm also a first generation fan and have rediscovered them. And I've watched a bunch of what you've done. I'm sitting here at almost 65 and this takes me so far back! Love it!
Mike, it's always a pleasure hanging out with you. And what you did with "She's a Woman" by the Beatles both as a lesson and a performance was masterly. You are one for the books my friend.
Thank you Mr. Pachelli, you made the entire song so easy to play including that smoking hot solo by George. I was feeling like crap today and this really put a spark in my morning!
Mike, you definitely nailed that song, if I remember right that song was on the Beatles 65 album. Yes I just looked I still have that album, that song is on it. Thanks so much for sharing !
Mike, good stuff! A very straight forward lesson, easy to understand and your addition of the tabs over your shoulder was super! Plus, you've got a great voice!
Its always great to see you enjoying what you do! Your camera- and video work is getting more are more sophisticated! Your way of teaching and the way you use your extraordinary gear - is always a great pleasure for me. Keep on rockin!
I have to say that I enjoyed the performance at the end as much as the tutorial itself. I thought I had figured out the song myself so I went on to see what you had come up with and boy was I off. I trust your interpretation of what the band did because it is clear what a fan you are of the Beatles, as I am. Great job and thanks for sharing your insight and knowledge.
The first note Paul sings is a C#4 then immediately goes up to an A4. (Tenor A) At the end he sings SOME QUICK C5'S (High tenor C) and then goes down the scale a bit. At the Hollywood Bowl concert, he actually goes UP to a quick D5 (real high Tenor D) on the first part of the word (WOman) at the end of the song in complete full powerful voice. Jesus, what a range! George Martin said "She's A Woman" live at the Hollywood Bowl was one of the greatest Rock Tenor performances he ever heard. That performance by the whole band was better than the studio recording in my opinion. McCartney was up in the stratosphere in full voice with a great tone. The music is also fantastic.
