The Beatles were a unit, it wasn't a vehicle for one member to show off fancy licks, whatever served the song best that's what they did, with taste and style. What they had was memorable melodies, the guitar breaks or the bass could often stand up on their own as much as any vocal line, the fact you could often sing or whistle those lines shows their strength and structure. Being fast or complicated does not mean better, knowing just what fits and compliments the other elements in an arrangement is their genius. This was their swansong album and the first to take advantage of the latest technological developments such as an 8 track (astounding to realise previously they only had 4 tracks available for all their other albums) and they also used one of the first Moog synthesisers. Just giving you a heads up. You might wanna think about editing your reactions to Beatles songs, you'll get copyright strikes sooner or later for playing uninterrupted tracks. It's not even the bands themselves, it's the owners of their publishing that don't mess around. You need to put enough pauses in-between to avoid getting them shut down. Some of the top selling bands like The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd are all tough on copyrights.
I watch every single reaction to the Beatles I see. I'm just now seeing your reactions. Something must be off with your matrix. I don't know. But I don't see any new reactions to the Beatles. I hope you haven't quit.
Ringo sang on a song he wrote for the White album called Don't Pass Me By and also sang on several other songs that were written for him. Each member of the band sang lead on at least one #1 hit!😊
George had a very early Moog synthesizer that the Beatles used on Abbey Road and you hear it here on Something. I believe George was not happy with Paul’s bass playing as he felt Paul was sort of sabotaging the song. I think it is an amazing bass part. Great guitar solo by George - a solo does not have to shred to be great.
I seen an imterview with Mikkey Dee when talking about Mötorhead and saying he could have drummed circles around the music. However that wasn't what the songs called for
Two standout parts of this song are McCartney's bass and Ringo's drumming. George's solo is exquisite. This song and Here Comes the Sun were evidence of Harrison's blossoming songwriting capabilities.
