One of the hardest things to do as an artist/producer is to step outside yourself when creating. You could be making the most fire track but to you it sounds like trash. Ultimately the audience make or break you, you gotta just release it and trust that it may work out, or the world may not hear the next classic track
Lil Wayne also said he didn't like a beat on "That's All I Have" from No Ceilings. he said: "Now let me start by sayin' I don't like this beat. But I weather the storm, I'm a lightning streak"
I think the "churchiness" and southern feel of Hail Mary is what made it stand out amongst so many other great songs Pac had, imo. Of course, it probably doesn't help that I'm from the South, haha. Hail Mary, Dear Momma, and Life Goes On are probably top 3 for me. Also, this comment took way to long to formulate. I couldn't remember what the title of Life Goes On was when first typing this up, so I went to google it. Then I spent several solid minutes figuring what my top 3 actually were LOL. Worth it though, I hadn't listened to any Pac in a hot min. Needed that. lol Cheers, Navie!
Love how You Remaked the Lil Wayne and the 2pac Beat with the Sample and the Story behind. But With the Rick Flair Beat u killed it! Great Content Like every week 💯💯💯
U make great videos. This one especially was really well done! Idk how this video doesn’t have more views already but I do know that you will keep growing strong!! 💪
Never come across ur channel before, just thought it was gonna be a compilation of the songs that artist didn’t like and the explanation given from that artist on why. But that fact that you actually put in the effort to semi recreate the beat, explain what u did to recreate andddd on top of that explain where that artist was coming from in the break down as of in why the artist didn’t like the beat, i mean, chefs kiss dude thats pretty awesome gave a u a subscribe just bc i think u deserve it, believe me i dont b subscribing to nobody lol but good shit 🤙
First new vid as a new fan! Literally created my first few beats from this man’s advice Arigato man also if anyone wants to chop it up on the proudcer tip reply!! Don’t be shy!!
You forgot one of the most iconic songs hated by the artist, Ruff Ryder Anthem by DMX. On multiple occasions he said he hated the beat. It was too simple like nursery rhymes, according to him.
Certain outlawz members may not like the beat at same time hail mary song did sounds like an Halloween spooky hip hop beat. I think that instrumental fit well from concept tupac was truly going for musically speaking.
Special Delivery remix video is on RU-vid. That version is crazy. And Lil Wayne probably didnt remember that first beat with Cole because he's probably was so high. Thats all he does lol
I don't know if this one by default. I remember watching a video with Jay Z and Timbaland. Jay was looking for a beat for excuse me what's your name. Timbaland stars playing the beats. The 3rd beat comes up. It was the beat to Ludacris Potion on Red Light District. But Jay wasn't fellin that beat and told him to go to the next one then he eventually found the one he liked which is the one the track today.
I'm surprised Juicy by Biggie is not on here. Besides Biggie not liking the beat at first, it also involves plagiarism. I heard Pete Rock say in an interview that Puffy once came to PR's house and Pete played his flip of the Mtume song for Puff. Puff liked the sample and decided to use and decided to sample it without the knowledge of Pete Rock.
After you broke it down, I am now realizing that Hail Mary is literally a person picking up an old school phone and hearing the tone, then dialing with a bell and clapping in it.
I jst watched another video of yours right before this that had some Diddy drama (it was about sampling rights for "ready to die")-- just thought it was a notable coincidence. But the "special delivery" version having him dancing and yelling without contributing to the song is s PERFECT example of what Suge said at that award show about himb😂😂
my god i had a rapper once 10 versions complete, 10 versions of a track mixed everything. to then listen to my advice and pick the very first one we made 4 days later.
The version of “Special Delivery” you showed is the original album version. Not too spectacular and I prefer the remix with Ghostface, Keith Murray, and Craig Mack.
I never really paid attention to how strange the Hail Mary beat was. But it is a little strange. If you gave that beat to anybody but Tupac it’d probably be trash. It was damn near trash when the Outlawz tried spitting on it. lol
interesting. I often hate my beats but only cause im learning more and more about music so my old stuff is rough. XD Oh but they arent even writing them? thats odd. why use it? lol
It's counter-intuitive, the odd beats, sound bad because they're different. While at the same time, the hit songs often don't sound like anything you've heard before.
2:22 because the origional version of the beat with cole is trash. the key hits are completely off beat, the drums are low impact, and it basically sounds like "human music" from rick and morty. swizz beats took that sample and made it 10x better by first off all making the keys actually ON BEAT and second of all by making the drums way harder. i thought that was pretty obvious lmao
