That's what I thought! If he doesn't have a scope, it must have been the Lord that guided him. And that's completely possible, I've managed to do somethings that just can't be explained away by chance it would seem.

There are a lot of them out there on the market now. I plan on getting a battery powered DeWalt version with a longer bar since I already have a supply of DeWalt tools and backup batteries to power it.

As long as the brood is capped, it can last several hours untended as long as it's kept in the ice chests. In winter time, the time is less, but since there is so little brood in the hive at that time, that is not an issue. Thanks for the comment on their customer service! I figured they were a great company from seeing comments from Randy at 628 Dirt Rooster about improvements he had mentioned to them that could be done and that's what they have on them now it seems.

@@tommychew6544 you're welcome. That's who we talked with about getting a bee vac, was Randy @628 Dirt Rooster. He's been good to us! He recommended a few different bee vacs and left the choice to us. What mainly sold us was... Being cordless and a way to keep your bee's cool the whole time they are in the vac... during transport and removals. We highly recommend Nopec/Everything Bee Vac. If someone is looking to purchase a bee vac, trade with those folks.

The bees that are left behind will eventually find another hive to call home, all they have to do is bring in some honey and they will be welcomed. As long as not to many robber bees are vacuumed, they will join the new hive. Bees are VERY social. God's peace Melanie. Mr. Ed

There are many philosophies on keeping bees, and "ownership" is one of them. However, I prefer the term "steward," and regard my role as one of assisting the bees to prosper on their terms and not force my idea of how bees should behave upon them, which is why I do not treat our bees. Given that, why then did I remove the bees from their natural habitat and install them in a conventional bee hive? Had these bees not bee relocated, they would have starved and died over the winter because there were not sufficient stores of pollen or honey in the hive for them to make it. Now, they are in a bee box being fed, and their likelihood of survival is greatly increased. Thanks for watching. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed

Because the bee vac is designed NOT to harm bees because of it's low suction, the bees are not harmed. Removing bees by hand is a very good way of doing it, but even that way will result in the loss of some bees. You can simply take the entire log and bring it to your place, I have done that several times already. It is not absolutely necessary to remove the bees and put them in a box, so you do not need a bee vac. The video link below is one such video where I took the entire log with the bees in it, as well as vacuuming another hive from a tree. Whenever I do a removal it is at the request of a homeowner, and every homeowner that has asked me to remove bees it is because they do not want them on their property for whatever reason. I have suggested on several removals to leave the bees alone as they were not endangering anyone where they were, but so far, only 2 have agreed to letting the bees stay. Generally, the bees calm down almost immediately. However, there are always a few that stay mad for a while. If only a few of the robber bees are vacuumed, they will become part of the hive. However, if to many are vacuumed , they will fight in the bee vac. That's why I stop vacuuming when there are to many robbers around. I would guess that they rob all of the honey and food stores and the "resident" bees would starve to death and the hive would understandably collapse. A healthy hive can defend itself against a few robber bees but not to the extent of the number that was in the cooler. And there were already hardly no food stores in that hive, it appeared, at least to my untrained and failing eyes.

I take special effort to capture all the bees that are from the hive. Still, in instances where robber bees outnumber the remaining bees, and I don't want to vacuum the robber bees as they will fight with the hive bees, I am forced to leave some behind. However, the few that remain behind will not make any difference to the ones that will be moved as we capture more than 85% or more of the original hive. Thanks for watching. God's peace Mary.
