OOOOOOHHH YEAH!! By logic, more weight, you burn more calories and there's more muscle engagement, but man, i bought a weighted jump rope and the results are amazing!! It's unbelievable how my grip strength has increased! !
Jump 15 no worries, always supporting the jump rope community around the world, hope people start incorporating jump ropes in their workouts here in DR
I have used weighted jump ropes for a long time now. They really work your entire body and take your jump rope workout to a whole other level. Working through different weights provides a great change up, and allows you to get an extremely intensive workout in a short amount of time. Also if I am learning a new technique, like with backwards jumping, I used the weighted jump ropes to really get my timing down. I started with the 3/4 lb rope, and when I could consistently jump backwards for 1 min blocks without tripping up, I went to the 1/2lb rope, then the 1/4lb rope, and finally my lightweight PVC rope. Backwards jumping was something I avoided, and I do not think i could have learned this technique as easily without the weighted ropes.
Love it man and thank you for sharing! You progressed in that nicely down in rope weight. It works well because most people tend to try new skills at too fast of a tempo. The heavier rope forces you into a slower rhythm and allows you to really feel the rope and technique needed to complete the skill successfully. Keep crushing it bud!🤟
@@Jump15official I know this is a old video but I have a question. Will a heavy rope say 2 pounds increase my upper body strength I want to do boxing but I'm kinda weak. I'm 6,0 175 can't bench my own body weight and skinny fat. Like I look skinny with a shirt on but look like I have some size with a tank top but no definition really what would you recommend?? Weights or a heavy rope I really don't want to lift but will if I have also I'm like 23% bodyfat thanks.
I started to jump rope in February, the 1/4 & 1/2 lbs where my start. Then I met 3/4lbs and 1lb and I haven’t looked back. If a workout starts with the 1/4lb and 1/2lb. I have to substitute with 3/4 and 1lb ropes. I get better feedback and the sweatiest workout🥵
Hi i recently bought a weighted jump rope i think its weight will be around 250-300gms but when i try to jump for 75 jumps then i feel like extremely tired and gasping. Then next time I feel slightly feel afraid to do again. Is the fear is real or irrational.
Weighted ropes are the only way I jump!! So much more fun and I can actually feel the rope going around allowing me to better time my jumps. I never thought jump roping would be a total body workout but it totally is!!!
Hey i know this video is old but can you please tell me if weighted ropes can help me build lean muscle ? Im skinny fat right now eating in a small deficit any tips ?
for sure they can help. Its all about workout consistency and nutrition consistency. Use a calorie calculator to find out your maintenance level and then track your calories using an app like myfitnesspal to see how much your eating. Identify if you are under eating or over eating and make the appropriate adjustments. Here is a calculator that I have used: www.bodybuilding.com/fun/macronutrients_calculator.htm
i bought the crossrope but found it too heavy and long, even for SMALL length. the handles are also bit too long :( but no doubt it's a nice rope..wish they made them shorter! Is there another weighted rope that u can suggest that is adjustable in length? probably 1/4 lb max. thanks
How long have you had it? If within 30 days do a size exchange or get your money back. They do make an Xtra small but you may have to email them and ask if they have any in stock cause they have made them in limited quantity. You can try knotting one side to see if that helps as well.
As far as other weighted ropes you can check out Rx jump ropes and rogue. I haven't ever used them, just know they have a couple options. Nothing else like Crossrope that I'm aware of.
Practice with weighted ropes (1/2 & 1 lb). Do max speed singles and doubles. When you go back to your regular rope it will be much easier. Warning: you may have to adjust to your increased rope speed 😉
Weight in the handles doesn't do anything for you because your hands shouldn't be moving very much while jumping. With the weight in the rope the sentrifical force is pulling the rope away from your body as it sounds around your body. This make you work harder to stabilize your arms with your shoulders and upper body making it a much harder workout.
@@Jump15official Thanks! Makes a lot of sense. However the simple fact of carrying some extra weight in the form of handles also would be beneficial no?
It won't do anything bad as long as you can jump ok with it. I cover it a bit in my latest video. I really don't feel weighted handles add much to the exercise. In fact, when I pulled out my old weighted handle rope from 10 yrs ago for the video, I found that it made it more difficult to feel the rope. This can generate timing and rhythm issues. I would suggest the heavy beaded rope I linked in that video over a weighted handle rope personally.
