My wife gave me one for Christmas. I paired it with a Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier rod. First time out using it, I caught 2 lunkers (7lb /7 oz & 7lb/13 oz) the same afternoon. Handled both like a top. For $215 bucks, it's my favorite combo. I liked it so much, I bought another. They are so easy. They will cast a mile and dialing them in is so easy. As a weekend fisherman, the LFS is a solid investment. It doesn't have to be flashy to get the job done and these reels do.
Yes! I own three Lew's reels. A twelve year old MCS 100 dollar speed spool, a new LFS speed spool and a team Lew's pro sp reel. All are awesome reels. My oldest reel still performs like it's brand new.
Was the second reel I paid my own money for and not joke 3 years later still have it and it’s still rocking left it in my boat for 3 months and picked it up and yup cast like it was new so yea I definitely agree
Yes I own one of those. Married to a tp1x speed stick. And a lews sp reel married to a tp1x speed stick. The only thing I can catch bass is with sencos.😮
I'd agree...In my opinion, the AG revo x is right there next to it. The lews cast a little further and a bit more smooth, but the Revo x is built tougher, and more durable. Both are equally as comfortable (to me). If you can step up to the 150ish mark, the sixgillfishing Hamaar is just amazing. Definitely the furthest (and easiest) casting reel I own (and I have some in the 250-300 range)
Thanks for the detailed feedback! I’ve had a Revo X in the past and I feel like the Speed Spool was better tbh from dialing it in, to casting distance and durability. I feel like it very user friendly all around.
The speed spool at 100 dollars is built like a reel more expensive than it is. I flip and pitch with mine. Love it. Solid reel. I have an slx I also love. I think it is smoother than the speed spool. But you really can’t go wrong with either.
That reel was the first reel i bought getting into baitcasting. Casts really far but the plastic gears can sometimes grind when you close the reel before you stop it with your thumb. I actually ruined mine trying to service it. But for what i paid for it . Great reel
Nice run down on the Lew's Speed Spool... I have one of that model and a few other higher end Lew's reels.😎 But that LFS Speed Spool is the best value at $99.00! Too bad they never go on sale😅
I have a Slx xt and Lfs speed spool. The slx xt does a Lil better with lighter weights but other than that they both serve their purposes. The xt was 130 and the lfs was around 88 bucks.
@@JB3_fishing it is on a 100 bucks reel, considering other reels in this price bracket have it, like the abu revox =/ sometimes when it comes w/o the clicker, after some use, your spool will loosen on its own =(
