My husband and I are going on 51 years in May! 15 children birthed two adopted 12 and soon baby 13. John is my friend my love, we love the Lord and our family. We give back what the Lord has given to the two of us. We trust in him totally. Happy Anniversary!

Love is sure a vital key. We have had to go through some really hard times but we've gone through it all together and with God. Love grows stronger every year. Retired 3 years ago and loving every minute together. Thankful for all the time God has given us.

My son was married in Gatlinburg such a beautiful wedding chapel, he passed away 2 weeks after his honeymoon in Hawaii. Love him and miss him, I know I will see him again.🕊💕

You are so right about your philosophy about your marriage coming first. My husband and I always did lots of things with our boys but we always took time for us. If you dont and you just focus on year children, often couples grow apart without realizing it and when the kids are grown the couple doesnt know each other any more. Keep doing what you are doing. You have a wonderful marriage and wonderful children. God bless. I lost my husband shortly after we celebrated 29 years of marriage in 2014. I miss him more every day but i know in my heart we were still very much in love when he passed on.

My husband is 20 yrs younger than me. Several people snarked when we got married and said it wouldn't last. Fast forward 15 yrs, we are still madly in love and my children (adults) have the utmost respect for him. We have been through a lot, stuck together and over came the hard times. We work hard for what we have and now I'm retired taking care of my parents, growing and preserving food and enjoying life. Thank you for your words from the heart.

Happy 10 years Anniversary. And don't forget the work of staying in love. The hugs and kisses whenever you leave each other even if it is just for the day. And you need to be able to laugh with each other. we have been together 16 years as a couple and 11 married to each other. It hasn't always been easy but at the end of the day you put each other 1st. Not the job or each others family, you as a couple.

I love the Roaring Forks place. Used to visit each summer. Its now been several yrs since ive been through there😢

Anniversary blessings! Hubs and I have been together 16 years, married 14 in July. It has most definitely not been a piece of cake! We are repeat offenders, come with all that baggage and really crummy foundations. But we're still together and for us that's huge! Mind set is critical, divorce isn't an option... and I agree your marriage should be primary behind your faith, God first, children come in line after your marriage just as that's how they came into the picture. No less loved, but prioritized appropriately.... but grandbabies, all bets are off!!! 😅😊

God is good. Put him first and everything falls into place. Spouse included. You're able to do whatever is needed for them no matter how many downs there may be He Will Bring You Through It All. My husband and I are in our 9th year and when he slipped and fell and broke his back I thought I lost him, turned my life inside out but, by the grace of God He changed, we changed and are stronger in the Lord and our marriage. Love is God.

It's something you really can't explain to a "Youngen" in Love. They have to be committed and experience it. Don't go only for the "Trophy" spouse.....Looks, fiances, health, statues can all change in the blink of an eye. Go with someone who is your best friend. I only knew my husband for 6 months when we got married. 17 months later our 1st son was born. On May 19th we would have celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. Frank passed on Dec 14, 2022. I was 20 and he was 25 when we married.

My husband and I have been together since we were 17 now 65 years old. The years have gone by way to fast. There are times when I wish we could start all over agin. We have had great times,bad times but with the Lord I will say how I feel for him is such a different kind of love. Some believe if your heart doesn't jump every time you see each the love is gone. WRONG,I believe that kind can not determine my love. Seeing him grow with God,his commitment to me our children, grandchildren, friends. This is a person that is trusted by me,our church and friends. Seeing his love for me and with al9t of my medical issues that man loves me so much. My heart drops when he's late getting home from a trip, and I have so much joy when he is doing things that bring him joy. We don't have to be always up under each other just being in the same house knowing we are safe is good. Hearing his laughter at some crazy thing on TV or ytupe I love it. Take pleasure in the small things as well. #love and happiness

Also, î like the idea of putting the marriage first. It is very easy to put it last when life gets hectic. You are right. It doesn’t model good things for the children when mom and dad aren’t seeming on the same page. Children also learn most by example. I think this is probably something we can practice more in our own marriage. Hopefully it will be much easier when my youngest gets a little older. My boys are 9 and 3.

There is an ebb and flow with love. It's not all Rose's. Sometimes, it's mostly thorns. However, we pull together instead of pull apart, and that is a choice we both keep making. Watching this on our 11 year anniversary, and î totally agree. The one think I would say differently is that you want to marry the person that you cannot stand to imagine living a day without. Once all of those heady hormones wear down, is this the person that you want as a literal partner to walk through life with. I was actually engage to someone in my early 20s that was not my person. I was just so in love with the idea of high school sweethearts, and the concept of marriage, that I almost ended up marrying someone who did not treat me very well. The best thing I ever did was get out of that, and begin working on myself. I knew that if I focused on my own betterment for a bit, I would be the best version of myself to bring into a lasting relationship. When I met the love of my life, ironically he had been doing the very same. We had the same friend groups all our lives too, and not once had we met in person. When that time finally came it was like fireworks. Now, 11 years & 2 kids on I still feel those crazy sparks. More importantly I feel like I’m home with my husband no matter what is going on in our world.
