I have been having body wide joint pain. My doctor thought I had rheumatoid arthritis but thank the Lord it came back negative. She prescribed me a steroid however I am leary to take it. I am incredibly thankful that you post this video I truly need it! Thank you Dr Berg, you are a Godsend!
Hi Lauren. Have you checked your vitamin D levels? I had the same problem. Joint pain that had me feeling like a 90 year old when I was only 40 so through blood work I found out I was severely vitamin D deficient. I started taking vitamin D3 + vitamin k2 and after 3 weeks in, the pain completely disappeared! Not sure if this may relate to you, but the relief I experienced was so drastic that I wanted to pass this info on in case it can help you too. Good luck on your health journey.
This is so scary especially as someone who has asthma and COPD. This has always been the first thing my doctor prescribed when I have a cold etc. Thank you once again for showing us a natural way of helping ourselves
Yes me too along with a peptic ulcer and constant sinus problems i am so at a loss , when i get a cold or flu i get it really hard i just know if i could some how stop stomach issues the rest would clear up Stomach acid so up in my throat i take omeprazole in morning and famotidine at nite and its not helping very much
I have been taking prednisone for 23 years, because of a kidney transplant. I did gain a lot of weight, but now I got my weight down. Since taking prednisone, I have type 2 diabetes and cataracts. I read information that was given to me by my nephrologist. The information you are discussing is true. The opthalmologist said that my cataracts are mild. My doctor did put me on Vitamin D3 1000 IU in 2009. My diabetes has been bad. My a1c is 7.7 and I plan to see him for a physical on November 4, 2022. I have been using cinnamon and it has been helping me with my diabetes. Thanks for the information.
A video on what helps with tapering off longterm corticosteroids (5mg) with adrenal insufficiency would be popular I think. It’s rarely covered by any on YT.
Definitely following! As I've been on it for easily 3 years post transplant for a chronic disease and Definitely looking for an alternative as I've already seen.the affects . Let me know.!
Yeah my doctor put me on prednisone for 5 days about a week ago for my allergies because the sinuses were starting to mess with my ears, or at least that's what he thinks is happening. And then as a result I got sick right after finishing the cycle🙃. It was the worst I've ever felt from a normal flu🙃. Still recovering from it. I then learn about what prednisone does. Safe to say I'm going to use these alternatives from now on🙃
For once I might be able to help Dr. I'm a landscaper and survival dude. Learn to identify poison ivy, I look for the uneven outer leaf. When I come in contact with it, you have 2-8 hrs to wash it off. Pay close attention to sensitive skin, in between fingers and back of upper arms. When I feel that certain itch, I use table salt. I get the area damp, then I gently rub in the salt and let it dry. Also I have heard jewel weed or Yarrow plant can neutralize it. I have never needed to use either. Hope this helps you or someone else. 👍
Jewelweed definitely does work for PI! It's amazing. You can brew some in some water, let it steep, and then freeze it in an ice cube tray. That way, you can keep the jewelweed for a long time, and putting that ice cube on PI -- excellent.
@@michellebobier4471 thanks for sharing! I live in Mo. I am a plant guy and I haven't Identified that one. I know that if you hold it under water it glistens it glistens because the water can't actually touch the leaf. Most of the videos that I see about it aren't very good about showing the details
A lot of people don't know that there's a small percentage of people that have bad side effects to prednisone. My daughter was one of them. It made her out of her mind and she ended up in a crazy hospital. She is fully recovered but not from any doctor but from God!
Not sure if this will matter to you, but what you are describing is a side effect, not an allergic reaction. Allergy means something very specific and usually will involve a rash, hives, and in more serious cases difficulty breathing or anaphylaxis. This is of course not to diminish the side effect your daughter had, as steroid induced psychosis is very serious as well.
2 years ago I had chest infection. I do have asthma. While in the hospital they put me on 60 mg of prednisone every 8 hours. That's 180 mg a day. Over 40 side effects and I had 20 of them I thought I was going to go crazy I gained 60 plus pounds within 8 months. But eventually lost those 60 lb within another year. Prednisone is the worst. Everything tastes like prednisone. I've been suffering because of it 2 years later.
The doctor kept me on corticosteriod for year my body had many side effects he never warned of side effects and when confronted he started giving excuses.
This is so important!! Thank you so much dr. Berg! I had to go on very high doses of oral prednisone . I thought I was going to lose my mind. It helped for about a week until I started to tartrate down and off. I will never do that again. Thank you!
When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis they gave me 1000mg for 3 days. I knew from the beginning that it wasn’t good for me. I haven’t been going to the hospital because they want to give me prednisone for my symptoms. I’m about to get some fenugreek and licorice root now
THANK YOU SO MUCH❤ Brilliant co-relational analysis. For me so important as I have asthma and RA, still need the puffer unfortunate, but everything else in remission and zero steroids. What did I do? Low carbs, D3, Mg, K, VitC, and regular exercise, good solid sleep. We can overcome,Dr.Berg forever grateful, you are important part of my recovery 🙏🏻
Hello Dr.Berg, i am watching your videos for 1 year they were very helpful, i had type 2 diabetes since 5 years, by watching your videos i did keto diet and i avoided sugar for 6 monthes, last week was my appointment with doctor, they tested me and told that now i have no diabetes, i was so shocked and happy to hear this news, by help of strict diet diabetes has disappeared... So thanks very much for helping all of us,by the way i want to know that which cooking oil and spices are organic in USA, and which one do you eat, so plz plz make a video on that, that will be very helpful for me...
I've taken Boswellia for ankylosing spondylitis and it's helpful to control inflammation and pain. But not panacea or true healing. Akin to taking small dose of ibuprofen but with no side effects
Hello Dr. Berg, great channel, I learn so much each day. I also recently started using a few of your supplements (hair vitamins/vitamin D/cod liver oil), so far so good. Can you focus one of your videos on “creatinine” what triggers it to go beyond the max #, natural ways to bring those levels down especially when the “reported causes” of high creatinine is not something that you are plagued with.
Useful theory for me to investigate. I'm in my 70s, disabled, and use steroids daily for asthma, as well as long-term annual cortisone epidurals for severe orthopedic pain issues. Thanks!
I have asthma and when I was a child would be hospitalized for it. I remember one of the times I was in middle school and had been on steroids and my peers called me the Campbell Soup kid (this was back in the 80’s). Thank you for this information!
Wish I knew all of this years ago when my grandma was suffering from COPD. She knew the prednisone was harming her overall, but couldn’t find anything natural. (At that time I was still teaching myself natural health.) She passed 6 years ago, but she outlived her life expectancy by about 9 years. Her positive outlook on life played a big part in that! ❤️ Thank you Dr. Berg for your tireless efforts to re-educate the masses. God bless you!
You described my experience with poison ivy. I used to get it annually starting at age 8. I can't believe I was not educated on what it looks like after being doctored with prednisone and everything.
I switched GI doctors and he asked if I’ve ever tried getting off Mercaptopurine because he did not like that medication because “it’s nasty.” I’ve taken that for 23 years for my Crohn’s disease(I’m 41). I’ve began watching your videos and using them to learn about food, vitamins and the way the body uses them. I’ve been off the medication 10 months and my bloodwork hasn’t shown an increase in inflammatory markers as compared to being on the medication.
My daughter was prescribed prednisone after COVID. I begged her not to take it but she wouldn't listen to me. She has every symptom on that list. I just shared this with her. I hope to inspire her to live a healthier lifestyle.
Thirty years ago, a doc put me on Prednizone (along with Theopheline, Ceftin, inhalant steroid, and Robutussin with Codeine) for asthma and borderline pneumonia (I was breathing at 28% lung capacity) and the flu. The side effects were horrific! I said never again then, and I've stood my ground since. I learned about natural healing from a client of mine and the only pharmaceutical I take now is Breo Ellipta (Fluticasone Furoate 100mcg and Vilanterol 25 mcg inhalation powder) but I only take one puff every 6 days. It's amazing to me that the doctor wanted me to take two puffs every morning and evening, and I do just fine with one puff every 6 days!!! I've already had the cataract surgery, and I have adrenal and cortisol issues. I've been trying to ween myself off Breo as well, hence the 1 puff/6 days, so this video is perfect for me! I already upped my Vitamin D to 20,000 iu/day, 40,000 iu when I remember to take my two evening capsules. Thank you Dr Berg for this info! It is greatly appreciated!
Just a thought but I got the gummies in D3 and everything else as I can not absorb vitamins...it made all the difference in the world those vitamin gummies...I only take gummies but a couple don't come in gummies....huge difference...maybe that might help you and others
@Debbie Sidebottom - I used to take Nordic Naturals D3 plus K2 gummies all the time. I still have one bottle left, but I'm trying to cut out all sugar that I can, and the gummies have more than I care for, so I've been taking Dr Berg's D3/K2 capsules for the last several months. It's an option, though, for those who are not reactive to sugar.
The few times I was put on Steroids, a few weeks later I got sick with respiratory infections. … and these infections were serious. I never wanna take them again so THANKYOU for these alternatives. 👍
I get it, it helped me tremendously.. but you can not stay on it forever..the longer you're on it the more harm to the body, even my rheumatologist told me that.
You mentioned taking high doses of Vitamin D3 - is that daily? Also, how many milligrams of Licorice Root and the others you mentioned do you recommend on a daily basis? Thank you!!
I was taking prednisone for half my life to mitigate the symptoms of ulcerative colitis, It did work and the side effects were tolerable. One of the mainstays of Western Medicine. When I switched to alternative treatment options my practitioner recommended simply changing my diet, from SAD to Keto/Carnivore. That solved all my digestive issues, If I only knew!
QUESTION-HOW MUCH OF THE PLANT STEROIDS DAILY to be effective? I’m on Prednisone right now for 10 days due to poison Ivy, second time this year. I’m very allergic also. I’ll try these other options next time. Thank you SO much!
I just got diagnosed with temporal arteritis today and I am devastated. I am not left with any good treatment options. Please help me, Dr. Berg. 😫 I am equally as terrified of the diagnosis as I am of the treatments they give. I feel backed in a corner with no option.
Very timely video for me, thank you! REQUEST: Please do a video for seasnal allergies. I've become allergic to so many things it is now a yearround problem for me. I've tried Quercetin and Nettle (both tablets and tea), but neither helped. Was most interested in your comment about the histimine effects of licorice root in this video, will be checking into that for sure.
Boswellia serrata (frankincense) is a great alternative to steroids. in research it worked as well as steroids when patients were on chemo therapy, without any of the side effects. it is a miraculous substance.
I had a big moon face from a high dose of prednisone. I was hospitalized with a severe RA flare up so they treated it aggressively and it literally showed in my face.
Yes, I am very allergic to poison ivy too. Have never gotten over it without going to the Dr. and have been told I have an auto immune dz , some of same symptoms. Thank you so much.
Dear Dr Berg. Thank you very much for this very important topic. I was on Prednisone for longer than a year. It was prescribed for Large Cell Arteritis. Last week I stoped it , because I have all side effects. Your information is so important.
The information you gave is so valuable. During a year and a half I was suffering so much. And now you lit some light of hope. Thank you kindly. With best wishes from Australia.
I have a question for you Dr. Berg. I have a problem with atopic dermatitis for the last probably 20 years. All over my body, the most problematic is on my face. Doctors are prescribing me diprosone and advantan corticosteroid topic creams. My AD is not getting any better, and i think these creams are working worse and worse. What should i do, do i first try high dose vitamin D3, and later add these other alternatives from your list or start all at once. Thank you for your answer.
Superb video! I just shared this channel with 3 people at the grocery store. 😃👍 I’m desperately trying to fix my gut. I’ve been doing OMAD and eating just a little chicken with broccoli, onion, brussel sprouts, and cabbage juice. Question: Is it okay to take Tudca and bike salts if I’m not consuming any fats? When and how many times a day would I take these if I’m doing OMAD or longer fast? Thanks again for sharing your knowledge! Peace and blessings 🙏
I am so grateful for this great video, but have an important question about the use of licorice root. I had heard about it being bad to eat if you already suffer from high blood pressure, and have stayed away from eating it. But because it came up in this video, I decided to pause the video and look it up again online, and numerous sources state that licorice root can lead to DANGEROUSLY HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE and DANGEROUSLY LOW POTASSIUM LEVELS. According to one source, "Licorice contains glycyrrhizinic acid, which sets off a well-understood chain reaction of biochemical events in the body resulting in high blood pressure." Licorice root, in it's raw, whole form appears to be safe. But in more concentrated forms, like those found in extracts and also when used as a sweetener (because it is about 50x as sweet as sucrose), when used in things like soft drinks and snack foods, it can become a serious problem, especially if consumed regularly.
Dr. Berg, thank you 😊 for all your incredible information you provide free to help us all. I have most of the side effects of prednisone. I have dermatomyositis, with ILD. I want to find a way to gradually incorporate vit d. How can I do it?
I was prescribed very large dose steroids for months and gradual decrease, the shock to my body, hair was so detrimental it took a year for me and my hair to recover, Auto immune disorder, recently had a relapse but watching this video I decided to chose the alternative route. I was on my way to Hospital for PET/SCAN and discussing more steroids - I declined them after which I took what you suggested. 'This has changed my life' in ways I could not altogether describe. I am free of all ailments, my energy levels have lifted as for feeling well again it was nothing short of a 'Miracle'!!!! Thankyou for this wonderful channel for which I am truly grateful..
But transplant recipients need prednisone to weaken immune system to avoid rejection. In that case, taking vitamin D3 everyday will strong the immune system and get rejection. Am I right?
Good day Dr Berg, thank you for you videos. I have a question about a malfunction of the pituary. Do you have suggestions for alternatives for prednisolone? Thank you in advance.
Take a Green led bulb of large size and radiation on head each day about thirty minutes. Within 45 days or less you will see difference in re activation
There is a very important factor that you forgot to mention: how much dosage to use for what disease. For example, if I have severe poison ivy rash, and doctor would probably prescribe 30mg prednisone for first 3-5 days, then tapering it off. What dosage should I use with Adrenal Glandular or other supplements? Without this information, the advice is only half true because too little may not be effective. Anyone knows the answer or rough guideline?
Dr Berg, I’m incredibly thankful for this video however, I was put on prednisone two days ago and I’m wondering is it safe to come off transfer over to the natural or go through and finish and then get on the natural?
Taken prednisone several times for asthma.. last I was put on prednisone for my asthma when I got Covid and it’s side effects were much worst than Covid itself.. may God protect everyone Thank u for such profound information Dr.Berg!
Hi Dr Berg, You have some really great informative videos!... Wondering if I could get some clarification.. I have taken lots of Prednisone for years for an autoimmune disorder called Myasthenia Gravis... Are you suggesting I could ween off of Prednisone by supplementing with things in this video?.. Would love to get your take, and your response would be important message for all people that live with autoimmune dissorders. Thx! Joel
Good Morning , Dr.Berg 🌞 Thank you so much for sharing this Interesting Information with everyone , Have a wonderful day , May God continue to bless you all 💜🌟 🙏 11 / 22 / 2022 🙏
Hello Dr., I had my gallbladder removed five years ago due to stones. Is Tudca a good supplement to use in spite of not having a gallbladder anymore? Thank you.
Hi Dr. Berg. I have microscopic colitis, and am taking Budesonide for the problem Budesonide is a corticosteroid. Do you think your proposed therapy could replace Biudesonide and solve my medical problem? Would really. Appreciate your input. Thank you for all your excellent information! - Mikey
I suffer from autoimmune flare ups in my feet every winter. So bad to the point that I can’t walk. After 4 years, someone who suffered from the same thing recommended prednisone. I went to my doctor, desperate and after initial hesitation, they prescribed me I think 5 or 10mg for 5 days and it got rid of it. It truly is a life saver. I am assuming I will have to do this every winter as I suffer these flare ups. Will I develop these harsh side effect by doing a 5 day course once a year? I noticed I ate a bit more than usual but nothing more. Thanks!
Hi Dr Berg, I've seen a lot of videos so far about health since its my passion and all my years of searching for natural solutions you have bang on in your videos! God bless you! I have a question for you re corticosteroids. I've been using Beconase, Nasonex, Flixonase in spray and Dexason as tablets and nasal drops for 20 years. I know you mentioned Prendisone, it may be a different corticosteroid but would those alternatives work for my cronic rhino-sinusitis? Thanks a mil and greeting from Ireland!
I bought D3 & K2 (together)Vitamin. Is this you? I didn't know you sold supplements on amazon! I didn't even know you made it! I bought it anyway. Please answer me.
Dr. Berg: Ive managed mild psoriasis on elbows and knuckles for three decades--it comes and goes, but mometasone fuorate no longer works this (cold) season. I am reticent to try stronger ointments like Impoyz for fear of damage. Will your plant menu target psoriasis in my case? I take pre and probiotics, do Tai Chi, exercise, keep a clean diet, but the redness on knuckles and plaque on elbows does not get better. Thank you.
Dr Berg Sir 🙏 My husband has ulcer in illeum. The place where large and small intenstine is joined. Please recommend which video prescription we should follow. Not getting any. 🙏🙏🙏. Please help. He is 40,has lost 12 kgs in one year.
I'm already a difficult patient to treat....first & foremost in the fact that I should have died 5 times to date in my life. I was placed on a Pred pack about 4 wks. ago & see my primary on the 25th. Prior to this script, I'd not taken any steroid in over 3 decades. Nothing makes me comfortable...I'm in pain all the time & my spinal cord work injury that Work Comp refused to fix has left me w/o sleep for over 5 yrs. now. I've been through countless tests & WC finally swallowed their words & agreed all my health issues are their fault. I am elated that this video showed up in my sidebar today. I've been experiencing severe hunger issues at 10pm for almost 1 week now. I injured my C-spine a couple months ago & can't have surgery. I initially went w/o food....just forced a measured cup of rice w/broth into me daily for almost 3 wks. Even the sight of food made me nauseous...it was like I was pregnant but I had a hysterectomy in '93, so NOT possible. Even though I've been slowly eating solids again....as a woman of logic, the ONLY reason I could come up with is that my body somehow required these late night meals. This has NEVER happened to me, NOT even during my pregnancies. Thank you for posting the hunger side effects...it was driving me crazy! Cheers, ~ Covah
Thanks for the great information you put out. I not only use it for myself, I try to apply it to my pets as well. This if very helpful since I have a dog that has problems with his disks and has had to have prednisone a couple of times. I'll research what, if any, of these things he can have.
Deborah, have you tried also putting your dog on a human meant and carrot eating plan. My sister had two dogs who were getting older and were to the point of barely walking. She had put herself on a grain free, sugar free and dairy free diet, and her discs issues were gone within weeks. One day she realized this eating plan might also help her dogs, and so she began feed them what she was feeding herself. The difference was remarkable for her and for both dogs.
@@pamscarr8696 I"ve added fresh liver and a few other things to their diets. They do like to eat carrots. It's difficult to put them on a dog specific diet (meat, raw meat) because of cost but I can get liver, hearts, spleen, and things like that for them relatively cheap. He's been hurt, he's blind and they run over him sometimes, by the bigger dogs a few times recently without having trouble with his back. I've fermented things for them and it's been helpful, too.
I just saw your ferment comment - my pup LOVES lacto fermented sauerkraut! I switched from a dog probiotic to giving her a scoop of that everyday and she loves it. If you need to feed kibble due to cost (which is my case), I give my pup the Wildology brand. It seems to be the cleanest. Then I too her bowl with meat and veg as I go.
Years ago when my kids were little, a hospital doc prescribed Prednisone for asthma for 4 or 5 days. *NEVER again would I do that!* I couldn't even focus or feel like I could function correctly, so I asked my parents to take my kids for a few days, and when I finished, it didn't even accomplish what it was supposed to, I was in the same congested position.
take dragon herbs super adaptogen and from same company cordyceps reishi duanwood or wild red reishi and bovine adrenals and you will see major improvement then fast with those and lemon water for few days every month and your asthma will go away
