In defense of Viridian City, I think it's a really interesting twist that this tiny quiet town you barely even think twice about is the base of operations for who is most likely Kanto's most wanted criminal

The fact you can't enter Paldean buildings kinda sucks

It’s like they sacrificed so much to make SV open world only for the open world to be so bland, lifeless, and forgettable

Nimbasa is my favorite city. Not only does it remind me of home with it being heavily inspired by Coney Island, but so much plot stuff happens here. Just as one example, we get N’s reveal of being a part of Team Plasma just before a gym battle. This place is pretty hype

I don't even know a single town from Paldea because of how forgettable they are.

The worst cities by gameplay and design are really in Paldea since there are no interiors and other interactive stuff.

They really dropped the ball in the last 2 gens huh... At least SwSh's cities were pretty (if empty), but SV's are just disgraceful. Like the footage you showed of the Charcadet town made me think "ew"

gen 5 music might be mostly all amazing but you gotta give village bridge best town music (maybe town in genral too) and the way you can add to the music by interacting with the town members so amazing

While I remember liking snowpoint as a child, snowbelle city in X and Y does the same thing but better in every way

I really look back fondly on Lumiose City. Getting lost in there was practically the main thing I did on my Pokemon Y save file and the Looker Quest made it stand out in my mind even more. Where'd Looker go, anyway?

The cities in Paldea feel so half baked (mostly because they were) I don't know every single town and city in Pokemon but the fact I struggle to remember one here isn't great. They're all just gym locations of varying sizes but they have the same problem of being boring and laggy.

I dont know why but I never see nobody talking about the cities and towns from Alola.

I feel like Medali is a pretty good contender in Paldea. It has the only gym battle that takes place in a unique location, the Treasure Eatery. Plus, if you fight online, you've got pretty good reason to go back there in order to change a pokemon's tera type

I was so confused when I got to Coumarine. Like, this was it? It's so lame especially with the stuff you can't go to. Just feels like another patented "Kalos moment".

Viridian City was my place as a kid! Mostly because when I got a copy of Red, I was too young to speak English yet (being Dutch). I never passed Viridian Forest, so I was always walking around there. Though the music is unfortunately used in more places, it will always feel like my childhood tune. When I eventually passed the forest to Pewter and on, Viridian always felt like home.

Viridian City’s anime music slapped tho, probably the most memorable song in the series lol “I’m on the roooadd, to BE-come the greatest trainerr” 🗣️🎙️

Happy to see you pick Ecruteak over Goldenrod because I agree. For Sinnoh I really love Solaceon Town. It’s at a crossroads for going basically every direction in Eastern Sinnoh, nearby Route 209 is beautiful and it’s part of a decent egg hatching route. Shoutout to Aspertia City in Unova for being a cool starter town because of the Gym and lookout. For Kalos I absolutely love Laverre City because of the theme. Circhester in Galar is a cool town as well. I liked Casscarafa as well because water, but hate that it’s next to the desert so the sand is blowing around a lot. Artazon is probably my favorite. Windmill, hedge maze, playground, lots of flowers, beautiful. I also love the simplicity of Medali. Not a huge town, but has the amphitheater in town, the Treasure Eatery, and has great views of Glaseado Mountain and Casseroya Lake.

The worst is Levincia because it gives me PTSD where Iono killed 5 of my 6 Pokémon in my first Scarlet Nuzlocke attempt

Dewford is just a generic-brand Cianwood

Another knock on Dewford, no Pokémart. Another reason to move the Dewford gym to Slateport, the beach is perfect for catching waves and playing into Brawly’s surfer persona.

Personally for paldea my favorite is levenica iono’s town that one feels like an cool big city :the music , the billboards, the cool little alleyways, and the actual good clothing shops especially after the dlc , it’s definitely the town i spent the most time in and is my favorite to just experience i like that it’s near a lighthouse and beach

Yeah, Turrfield has to be the weaker city in imo. Postwick, despite its size is quaint and the theme gives it that small town vibe, and given Spikemuth doesn’t have a Dynamax station, it makes sense that it seems more run down compared to Wyndon or Hammerlock.

Dewford town phrases has to do with the feabass makes it easier to catch. See some tutorials.

For coumarine city, you claim to see an area that is unexplorable. The area you see from the distance, is the area you came from first, rotated 90 degress so that the game could have explanation for its route and city design while working with a fixed camera.

I have always thought it was really odd that they'd make a big city based off Paris complete with the Eiffel Tower, and then not do anything with the tower itself beyond a completely forgettable gym. Like, wouldn't it have been cool if it turned out the Ultimate Weapon was hidden inside the tower? Imagine the Eiffel Tower opening up into a big flower of destruction. That would've been so much cooler than it just popping out of the ground in a town that serves no purpose other than being destroyed.

"Po town, which is abandoned" d...do Team Skull not count...? The mural in Turffield isn't meant to be Stonehenge! At all! I have no idea how you got that impression! It's based on giant hill figures in the UK, likely specifically the Cerne Abbas Giant (though missing his uh...most defining feature). Seriosuly how would you think it was Stonehenge? That took me wildly by surprise. Though Turffield can still get fucked because the layout is utterly ridiculous. Also if i may there is one house in Paldea you can enter that has no plot relevance and thats Nemona's house. Everything that happens there happens *outside*.

Hopefully, the next games and/or gens would address the buildings problem of Paldea

gen 4: i would have picked the town with the water gym over the one with the ice gym for worst town. the latter has events, a unique atmosphere, unique weather and a very different color pallet. the former is just gym + marsh, and i would argue the latter is more part of the route and less part of the city.

The worst part about Snowpoint City isn't just how unremarkable the city is. But getting there is also an pain in the butt. Route 221 & 222 are the absolute worst route of the entire Pokemon franchise because your traveling in an snow where you barely can see and getting stuck on snow & getting back up; rense & repeat doesn't help much either. And there's trainers to fight in an hail weather battle. It is an slog. Also the gym sucks. I guess what they say is true. Hell does froze over.

I hated Lumiose city! My least favorite city in all of pokemon, i very much dislike circle based maps so its no wonder i didnt like it 😂 i really hope legends z-a reworks it and makes it less confusing to get around

Worst city in Kalos is Lumiose City. That camera and the controls... its just horrific. It just makes me dread having to navigate the place, and makes it impossible to enjoy any of the good ideas there.

Hoenn cities are my favorites. Vibe is endless

Yay my favorite jhoto city wins! I love ecruteak city have since I was a kid I love the vibe I love the architecture I love the lore it’s my favorite of the series and yeah scarlet and violet cities disappoint me so much I don’t even remember most of them the differences just aren’t there plus not being able to go into buildings still doesn’t make sense to me I love exploring the towns in Pokémon and I’m sad it’s just not possible there

All 2d pokemon games (a.k.a gens 1-5) + gen 6 have the most astestic region design to me. I hope someone feels the same way

Viridian city has the battle space ,which you can attend regularly, is its main draw. And how can you not associate the soundtrack to Viridian since it’s the first city you hear it! Cinnabar id say is the worst since there isn’t much to it. I never liked the mansion. It’s got terrible music.

Bro, w t f? Lumiose is the worst, most annoying city to explore! Unlike Mesagosa, that's larger, Lumiose has those filthy battle traps: you explore a street and then you're forced to battle!😮 I hate it! I come to the city to relax and chill, paly some mini-games maybe, not do more battling! At least they could've made a small tourno with prizes or make those battles sky battles!
