What are the BEST art supplies on #Amazon? Surprisingly, there's a lot of great stuff. I have a video suggestion that u could do if you’d like; try listening to a song without words and paint what you “see” in your head when you listen to it. I tried it and it’s really fun and good for your brain.

I neeeed to try those posca markers ahhh they're so pretty to look at haha. And speaking of - you look beautiful! Your hair looks so cute in a bun and your skin is FLAAAWLESS. I CANNOT get ahold of that illo sketchbook! I tried in December and they were all sold so now I need to check if they're back in stock! Posca markers are great .. I just wasted half of my salary on those and I wanna buy more ... most markers are not even available here in Egypt so when I found them I was like "yessssss my babies come here !!!"

I live in a very small town in the middle of the desert with no art stores to be seen for miles and miles. BUT we do have a Walmart. What I've discovered is Walmart online has lots of art supplies usually cheaper than Amazon and they do free pick up so I don't have to pay shipping. I just order online and pick up and my local neighborhood Walmart store. :D

Im the same way!! Small town in the middle of the desert,, no art stores but have a walmart. I sometimes order amazon,, but i find a lot of the same art supplies the Walmart site for cheaper,, plus most of it is free shipping, no prime to worry about

As an artist on a budget who had fell in love with watch RU-vidrs use copics I slowly built up a collection of spectrum noir pens. Really love using these, I also enjoy Arteza watercolor pencils. For both watercolor and dry application. Have just put in an order on Amazon uk as they have a sale on Arteza supplies, and decided to get some of the fineliners, think I seen them here first and thought they look amazing. :D

For a cheaper glass palette get a cheap glass picture frame of the size u desire and put a sheet white paper in it. You can see how the colors will appear on paper without wasting paper. Its easy to clean too. Love your videos mira. Thank you for posting them. Have very inspiring artistic day.

Don't be sorry for rambling! I love listening to you!💕🌹 i have a pentel signpen and its glorious!!! The nib is like no other nib I've had for a pen! Also I've just been using crayons for my sketchbook and surprisingly I like them! I always thought crayons were bad but they're not as bad as I thought! Also I've been using tombow twintone markers in my sketchbook and they are water based so they are kinda like watercolors!😊

I ordered the Lukas 48 watercolor set from Jerry’s and its fantastic, there are tons of skin tones and 9-11 blues (depending on if you decide to include the super dark Payne’s Grey and Indigo) and they are extremely vibrant, especially the Prussian Blue and Turquoise.

I’m also a Prima Junkie!! I have 6 palettes I think. I got my first one for my birthday two years ago and then immediately ordered 5 more🤣🤣 In addition to the classics, I have the odyssey, shimmering lights, decadent pies and I’m drawing a blank on the last two right now, but I’m DYING for the vintage pastels, essence, woodland and complexion ones too! The only bummer for me is that when I purchased my sets they didn’t have color names😕 I didn’t do anything smart like label them myself to keep track of them, and now they’re all mixed up and it’d probably be difficult to figure it all out; so I just created a different system for mine and arranged them into warms, cools, Earth tones, neutrals and metallics and that’s been a fun way to work w them as well! We basically have the exact same taste in supplies as I have most of what you’ve recommended here but I really want to try the posca pens too! One supply that I’d really love to recommend to you that I think you would LOVE is Holbein Acryla-Gouche. I mean, it’s incredible. The best of all the worlds and it’s just so beautiful. It takes a bit of getting used to at first coming from a more watercolor-centric learning process but I’ve been more and more excited to use them each time I break them out. I got the set of 12 5ml tubes for like 19.75 on amazon so they weren’t expensive at all! I know Holbein can be a bit pricier but this was so much cheaper than I expected and I’m so happy that I decided to try them out. One thing that has helped me tremendously w my learning curve while using them was making a homemade wet palette as they tend to dry REALLY quickly but I can keep my mixed paints for weeks this way w no issues at all.. ok no more rambling!! Thanks for another great video!!💖

Ahhh do you like the shimmering lights palette?! I’ve been wanting that and the vintage pastels as well. It’s nice to meet another prima junkie haha!! Also, YESSSS!! I’ve been dying to get some Holbein Acryla Gouache. It’s a bit out of my price range at the moment, but I’ve been setting a little bit aside so I can get a set!! So glad to hear you say good things about it

I have to be honest that it’s not my hands down favorite (I think that’s decadent pies) but there are a few really really beautiful colors in there that are worth having☺️💖 Some of them are super creamy and just gorgeous but a few have a really granular texture that doesn’t always give me exactly what I’m looking for but are still really valuable to have when creating landscapes etc. idk if my expectations were just a smidge too high due to my experiences w the other palettes but I’ll just say it’s not my fave as a whole BUT a couple of my fave colors came from it. I wish they had color names and numbers when I purchased them so I could tell you which ones they are but I really have no idea😅🤣 I hope you’re able to get your hands on the Holbein Acryla-Gouche soon! It’s life changing! A bit different to work with at first but once you get the hang of it I think you’ll love it.❤️ God bless I’m a rambler😅😭🤓😬

I really want that Illo and it's never freaking in stock! 😂😭 On Arteza, I was really impressed with their canvas paper for acrylic. I also picked up the Arteza detail brushes on your recommendation and got the gouache for Christmas and I love both. My favorite art tools often depend on my mood at the time and what I'm creating. Arches is glorious but expensive. And black Bristol is a favorite but dear in price and difficult to find!

@@MiraByler I found both of mine on Amazon. Bee 9x12 and Bienfang 14x17. I painted a really gorgeous wolf on the Bee with gouache that just popped off the page. I haven't had a chance to try out the Bienfang yet though.

I'll give the Arteza 36 watercolor set a try, their cotton rag paper, the Bee watercolor paper, the Prima watercolor sets, the Pentel water brushes and the detail brushes from both Arteza and Virtuoso.

Definitely not the only one about the hard cover haha I do it all the time also your so inspiring and your art is amazing and I love alk your videos and channel I wanted to know if u could try the studio 71 markers i got mine off Amazon and there way cheaper than most markers and they have brush tips ! Achohal based too . And I can't find many other opinions on them ..... I would love yours ! Also if you could find the numbering system for them that would be amazing !!! ♡Emma♡

Omg, the leathery feel of a hardbound sketchbook is glorious! I've always just used the Canson XL Mixed Media, but I'm getting super tired of wire bound sketchbooks. So I've been perusing Amazon a lot lately for a nice hardbound book that can handle watercolor and gouache but has a decent size amount of paper. I just didn't want to burn through it super fast.

I have exactly the same sharpener, and I LOVE it! Edit: I've seen the different Gelly Roll colours at Michaels, but not in the art supplies section. I've only ever found them (and Uni-Ball Signo) in the scrapbook section. As for my favourite art supply, I'm currently obsessed with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils, but I recently tried a Marabu Graphix Aqua watercolour ink (came in December's premium Sketchbox) and now I really, REALLY want new drawing inks! lol.

Thanks for showing these great deals. I just wanted to add since you are familiar with Arteza products there red H2O brushes are the best I've ever used. And have the best price I've ever seen. You get a set of 6 for around $ 14.00. Also, I have noticed other artist that have tried them think the same. So if you have not tried them you may want to give them a go. TFS

You are definitely not alone about the sketchbook covers. It's like...look at me! I'm fancy! I want that prima complexion palette. I recently bought the 72 count Arteza watercolor pencil set. They are better than the Faber Castell pencils I have honestly. Lastly, there is never too much talking when it comes to art supplies! :)

I'm weird, I prefer the spiral ones because I can fold it over, I can't fold the regular ones and it drives me nuts! Does it help you when it isn't spiral because you're left handed? I USE THAT SAME WATERCOLOR PAPER (the Bee paper)! I found it at Michaels and had 50% of coupons! My new favorite thing is my light box my parents got me on Amazon, it's called the Tracer and it's super helpful to be able to trace images onto my watercolor paper!

Creatively Revived I have the same problem. I only can use the spiral notebooks and stuff. But with your question if it’s easier to use one with out spirals for using your left hand. Well I can’t really say anything about it. But I’m left handed and just turn around the spiral notebook so the spiral is on the right side.

I love this type of video. I live in a small town. The only store I can get art supplies is at Joann fabrics. There prices are a bit higher in prices with most of there art supplies. I just got about 50$ worth of supplies and really didn't get much. So thanks for the video. Ps. I'm grateful we even have a art store around here. 🙂

Your so lucky to be able to live near art stores even if Amazon is cheaper. The nearest art/craft store to me is Hobby Lobby and its an hour away.

I really appreciate that this is all supplies avaliable on Amazon, because I live in the UK so the art supplies avaliable here are different, so online is way easier to find the same thing. :) Saying that, my favourite art supply is a set of Arteza acrylic paint tubes I got from an actual art shop (Cass Art in Brighton). I got them on sale in September because the shop has a sale for students (it's a artsy city, and although I'm not studying art I could still take advantage haha).

Gah - you totally sold me on the Illo Sketchbook and they are sold out until the end of February. But I’ve been looking for a great mixed media sketchbook and I’ve tested three or four and not found the one that’s my made my heart sing. Though, I love the spiral bound book versus a spine bound book because I like to flip the pages all the way around and I don’t paint/draw across the spine.

Thanks for this video Mira. It’s so helpful to know what an artist has tried and really liked. Helps me figure out where to put my dollars. I asked for, and received, the 36 palette Arteza watercolors based on one of your videos and I LOVE them! I also bought the complete set of larger-tipped Posca paint pens after another of your vids. Check out stillman and birn sketchbooks - I absolutely love them, did an inktober in their square one 270 gsm. I do choose hard cover spiral so I can fold it and etc and their regular bound ones kinda fold flat but illio is folding out flat so you can do like a one 2 page piece which isnt something I do often so i got like every one of their series sketchbooks - from each line lol...

I will definitely be trying the posca pens and think I'll get some fine tips too! My fave art supply is my $10 Daler & Rowney Pencil Pallet from Walmart! It has an HB and a 2B graphite pencil, soft medium and hard charcoal pencils, a medium and soft charcoal stick, 2 paper blender stubs, a kneaded eraser, and sharpening board (sandpaper for charcoals)!!! I have dropped the graphite pencils literally over 100 times and have never broken even the fine point on the lead, let alone the actual wood of the pencil like I've done with so many other cheap ones! Plus, unless you're ridiculously talented, most artists NEED to draw some sort of sketch or outline, so you will literally constantly use this set. I use mine every single day! Granted I work predominantly in greyscale, but still! Thanks so much for sharing with us Mira, you're such a huge inspiration! I'm off to binge more of your vids and create some (master)pieces! P.s. I would LOVE to steal your style sometime! When I do work with color, I tend to gravitate towards similar pallets and styles as you so I think it would be really fun :)

I loved this! Thank you for the pencil sharpener recommendation. I need something like that! The M. Graham gouache is really fantastic. I'll have to grab a tube of their white. I have a couple of the colors they have available and they are so pleasant and rewet better than some of my Winsor & Newton paints. (I typically work from a dry palette.) A recommendation I have would be the Caran d'Ache Neocolor II Water-soluble pastels. They are so fun.

I love watching your videos. I gave an order arriving today of arteza fineliners and the fantasia colored pencils that you showed in another one of your videos. I was wondering though, I don't think I have ever heard you talk about fixative. I remember vaguely using it in high school but haven't given it much thought until lately. Do you use it?

Thanks for sharing, they have lots of art supplies at five below store... They have a nice little selection for a very low price check them out if you have one in your area... One of the stuff that I really buy at Amazon are sharpies color markers sometimes they are very cheap but I’ve been finding them at dollar tree and my local five below store.... And the posca markers I used them with a extra wide tips for graffiti tagging.... And they work really great...

Never be sorry for random rambling, lol. I love your rambling videos the best!😄 I really do love everything I have purchased from Arteza so far. Next I need the gouache. I also love the Pastel Dreams pallete. It really added something to my style of art. As for favorites that you might want to try, Daniel Smith wc is amazing!! I bought a turquoise that I add to every wc pallete. It granulates so beautifully. I buy so much stuff on Amazon, lol. I am definitely going to try the illo sketchbook and the pencil sharpener. And maybe the Bee wc paper. Oh, and Posca pens have been on my wishlist for a while thanks to you and Kasey Golden. Thanks for this video. I really appreciate finding out what your favorite art supplies are. Makes me feel more confident trying new supplies. 😊

Mira dear, EVERY video of yours inspires me to make art (ok, well maybe not those when you were exploring things with microscope obviously lol) and basically anything I see you're using that I haven't tried yet I'm like - oh gosh this looks so cool, I'd like to try that too! Which is bit of a problem because I live on the other side of the world and most of what you use I couldn't find here. Of course I could buy it on amazon as you say these are from there but the price plus the shipping probably wouldn't be that tempting. I still love to see these videos when you show your art supplies though :)

Maybe you should try looking through book sections in thrift stores! My first sketchbook was a $2 red leather bound sketch book I got from a clarence section lol.

I love those Tombow Fudenosuke pens. Makes it so easy to get thin lines and thick lines without having to switch pens. I bought a 5 pack of the hard tips off Amazon not long ago. Really cheap too.

I know this is ancient, but if you still use glass palettes, it will save you money. Get glass cutting boards. I tape my watercolor paper to them, and have one about the size of yours, and I got a stack of five glass cutting boards, about 8x10 inches, for about twenty bucks.

YES. I am not a fan of spiral sketchbooks to be honest. The paper is more free to shift around and thus it smudges pencils more easily than if it is a normal bound book. As for art supply recommendations....I don't do much in terms of traditional art, but I can say that the Zebra mechanical pencils are very well built, and cheep too! I got a two pack for one dollar at the Walmart near me. This little pack even came with some extra lead for when the pencils run out! Also, the Pigma Micron PN is a nice pen with an ever so slightly flexible nib. This makes it easier to control than the Pigma brush pens. The draw back on these, however, is that they don't allow for nearly as much variation in line thickness. For coloring, you can't go wrong with Ohuhus or Copics. I also like Crayola colored pencils because, why not?

I need those prima watercolor, but in France we don't have the Pastel dream QvQ I think my favorite art supplies is my finetec by coliro. I've got all the colors. I'm in love with those, they are so shinny and vegan. I'm not especially vegan but I think that's cool :D And I think Arteza is a pretty good brand. I'm not disappointed by those product ^^ Love your work and I LOVE those kind of video. Keep going!

I totally get the hardcover sketch book thing!! I use my spiral ones mainly when I have to take the artwork out. The nice hardcover ones just make me feel good about the art I'm doing. It feels less...messy? Sloppy? Idk lol I've really wanted to try the prima watercolors. I've seen a couple youtube artists use them but I've never used pan pallets before. I've always used watercolor pencils and tube watercolors. My greatest fear is buying them and then not using them at all. I do have the arteza gouache in my wishlist though! :)

I used to use tube watercolors as well, and I found my transition was easier by using a spray bottle to activate the pans. Still miss the tubes sometimes. What ones do you use? :)

@@MiraByler I use daler rowney. I know they are not the best but I bought them when I was first starting out and always liked how easy they were to blend with my better art materials (my fav being my prisma/ derwent watercolor pencils). I've been looking for better ones but kinda don't want to buy something pricey and regret it.
