My FGAC5044W1 had an EC code but F decided not to replace it since my Amazon Invoice showed Woot but they said Woot is not an authorized reseller. Woot is a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon. Then I noticed another reviewer on Amazon had the same experience in 2022. Outrageous really.
Very happy with my vacplus unit. I love that mine has WiFi so I am able to check the status, RH, ambient temp, and am able to change settings on my unit remotely. Which is nice because it's in my garage. Been using it for over a year with amazing results. :)
I bought this unit (FFAD5033W1) 4 years ago. Died last week (refrigerant leak somewhere). It would cost more than the unit to find and repair the leak. Quite expensive for 4 years. Won't replace it by a Frigidaire for sure.
i just ordered Non pump version of Frigidaire. Great information and detailed. No brainer on selection.. Thank you! :) bought some additional warranty ..
Yes, I recently commented similarly on another video, I love how it is all fact based information. Additionally, I'm delighted to have the ultimate recommended dehumidifier be the model I just picked up for my own basement. Great delivery on the information, now to search for a video review of the portable A/C unit I purchased, I sure hope it's a recommended model as well. Thank you. Keep up the great videos my friend!
Great video. I watch the first 10 seconds of 3 other videos then 2 of your full videos and immediately went and bought a 50 pint Frigidaire. Thank you.
*We liked it **Fastly.Cool** so much in the basement, we bought a second one for the main level. The amount of moisture it pulls out of the air is astonishing.*
The Hisense DH3020K1W bought a year and a half ago seems to work fine. The one problem is that the once cool basement is much warmer. Btw, this Hisense i have was just a valve in back which i screwed a piece of hose onto with no removal of a any drawer or anything. Just thread the hose on and drain into wherever you want. The heat ing up of basement is not good, but i guess they all do it.
If you want to buy a new dehumidifier every two years, then yeah, get the Frigidaire because that is what I had to do. And their customer service is as bad as the product. Never again Frigidaire.
I’m pretty sure he’s saying “65 degrees for a night”… a time measurement rather than temperature? Still confusing since I’d assume most DOE measurements should be in exact time like 24 hours. But maybe dehumidifiers only need to run “for a night” regardless of whether you measure in Kelvin, Fahrenheit or Celsius? 😅
the midea cube's drying capabilities are great however the pump on mine did not work well. do not buy the pump version and just buy the non-pump version
I had a Frigidaire, lasted only two seasons and died. I do not want another Frigidaire. I'm so tired of disposable appliances and throwing my money away. What would be the next best pick after Frigidaire? Honeywell has a 5 year warranty.
I've had several of these fail when lint got past the filter (which I kept clean) and clogged the coils. These consumer grade units do not have any way to access the coils for cleaning.
My basement isn't cooler in the summer. It's currently 80deg in my basement right now and 77deg 77% humidity outside. There's no insulation here. Just bought the house and the basement is finished but the previous owners didn't insulate it. It can get humid real fast.
I have the exact model you recommend ... I got it as a replacement for an earlier version which failed ... now this one has gone bad. Compressor runs red hot and the coils start icing up after just a short run ... eventually, it shuts down and throws an EC code. I'm now fighting with Frigidaire about warranty ...
All warranties are pretty much the same except for length. I list the length of the warranty that comes with each of the models I tested at around the 11 minute mark of this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E_ksV7SLrlE.html
Excellent video! Thanks for the great reccomendations, I just bought the Frigidaire unit with the built-in pump. Do you know of a reference video on how to plug the drain tube for the pump and hot to position the unit? Also wondering on best tips for hooking up to my plumbing. If you have information on those, I'd be very interested, thanks!
Ok bought a SoleusAir 50 pint worked fine for 2 days took 100 pints out and now it just freezes up the coils, why, temp is at least 70 in basement unit shows 63% set at 50%
I know this is off topic, but I don't know where else to post. Can you do bidets please. This type of video is long over due. It's crazy that models that are 10-13 years old are still #1 best seller. I would like to know what's the point of still spending hundreds on these older but well-built models vs spending an extra $150 or so for newer features.
What do you recommend for shorter crawl spaces with high moisture? I can't see a 25" unit with the air coming from the top being effective in a space that may only have 24-30 inches of room, with wood beams potentially blocking off some air flow to the top.
I bought the Frigidaire FFAD5033W1 and I was told it replaced the FFAD7033R1 which drained through my hose directly and not have to fill the tank first ? I’m I not doing something right I would say this is a downgrade ?
Would you recommend the HomeLabs 50 pint I mean I’m thinking of that one because I can buy a 4 year protective plan with it and all I mean I’m confused 32 thousand people bought the HomeLabs yet you claim the Frigidaire is better in build and size so not sure witch one to get! Thanks for your videos they help a bit not sure if I should get the HomeLabs or not also what do you think of the Tosot dehumidifier?
Thanks for reviewing the all the aforementioned products, and I have just placed an order for Coway Airmega 200M Air Purifier==Coway AP-1512HH Mighty Air Purifier. Would you also consider to review some humidifiers?
According to her it does! No but, they all take garden size hoses. One thing that is never mentioned in these reports is that a lot of times the hose will get completely clogged and the internal bucket will fill up with water which will cause the unit to shut off. No one ever cleans the hose out which it should be every once in a while.
Thank you for the informative video. After reviewing multiple commentaries, I think we'll forgo the internal pump and use a gravity drain via hose to sump pump (as we do now). My Whirlpool dehumidifier is approaching 25 years old and its time for an upgrade I think. Two questions: can the hose be longer than, say, eight feet (the recommended size, not sure why) and does the model you demonstrated have a long enough A/C chord (3-4 feet) as I would prefer not to use an extension chord on a unit such as this for safety reasons. Thank you.
Theoretically, yes, the hose could be longer, although there's no way to know for sure if the water will drain properly without actually trying to run a longer hose with your exact setup. I measured the length of the FFAD5033W1's power cord at 6 ft.
@@consumer-analysis Many thanks for the prompt response. Looking to get the 70 pint. The dreaded dead-machine C0 error code gives me pause so perhaps I will purchase the extended warranty as well. Just in case. Thanks again.
Bought one makes a huge difference however after a year it shuts off Cleaned it all, reset and cleaned the filter , plugged it in. blows for about a minute then shuts down
I bought a Hisense 50 pint dehumidifier for our finished walkout basement and it stopped pulling water out of the air. The tank is always empty now. It worked at one time. Just bought it back in June at Costco. Is it broken in your opinion?
Thanks for making this video. You guys do a really thorough job in all of your reviews. I'm thinking of using a dehumidifier with an evaporative cooler because my girlfriend complains sometimes about the humidity in the house even though we have some of the windows open a bit, and we live in Colorado where the humidity is typically 30-35%. Any thoughts about using a dehumidifier with an evaporative cooler? I thinke the dehumidifer generates some heat, but not that much. I may be able to link the two units together so that the water captured by the dehumidifier drains back into the swamp cooler.
The Frigidaire model I recommend, the FFAD5033W1, is the latest model. It replaces the previous iteration, the FFAD7033R1. The FFAD5033W1 was only released a few months ago.
@@consumer-analysis that would be awesome! It's like double the price in the UK. So would love to know in detail its value for money. It's harder to find the products you have recommended in the Amazon UK
Fahrenheit. Not foriegnhight. You're clearly very knowledgeable on this subject, so your credibility is still intact. But, please check your pronunciation. It can compromise that credibility.
Fare-en-heist! Bus Fare-en-heit. Heit E before i you pronounce i. Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit ! It is a German Name, in the USA we say it as Fare -En - Heit .
My original intention for this humidifier was to use it for plants that require high moisture levels. After using it in my room, ru-vid.comUgkxtD9aJ2m6GU-X1IChQxjn9l31K1A7Kpwj however, I think that's where it is going to stay in the fall and winter season at least. The increased humidity in my room made the room warmer and more comfortable. I had first ran the humidifier for 4 hours with the timer setting for it. After the first hour, I checked my room and can feel the difference. When the full 4 hours was up, I checked again and noticed that the humidifier was shut off as it is suppose to. The moisture level never seem to get passed 56/57%. I then let it run until all the water is used up, which it wasn't all used up. There are still some left in the base that you are not suppose to add water to. I filled up the water tank all the way again, being careful when removing it from the base. Some left over water may spill out. After putting it back on and setting the unit to auto, I let it operate. It didn't stop running, rather I don't know if it did at any point since I didn't check it regularly, for 24 hours after which the water in the tank ran out. The moisture reading never passed 56/57%, which may be a good thing for me. Being situated right next to my bed, the noise was not very noticeable with the occasional water gurgle from time to time as the unit ran.
