Learned more from your video than three others I watched. Thank you, keep the concise format for topics like this. Just bought the PGYTECH model.

Great, I’m glad you enjoyed this video! Yes this type of format for the videos works pretty well, concise and straight to the point, in fact I’m working on further videos like this one, for example reviews of photography/travel products, that will come soon!

@simone_bortolotti
@simone_bortolotti Месяц назад
@LaTeamModo honestly not, but consider that in the last year I reduced the use of it just because I switched to a new camera which is quite heavier, and that makes it not much comfortable to carry in that way. My suggestion is to buy it especially if your camera is not much heavy and if the lower part of the camera shell is not made in plastic (metal can stand better the vertical forces), if you have any question let me know!

Yes yes that's a good point, for sure metal, in most of the cases, is more reliable than plastic, even tough in this case the quality is pretty high!

@@simone_bortolotti I actually did some more research and ended up buying the peak design clip and so far it has been good. If it fails at some point, then I'll switch and try the PGY Tech one.

Yes yes the Peak Design clip is good anyway, you’ve done a good choice. To be honest, I wouldn’t worry much about a possible fail of the clip, unless obviously your camera+lens pack is too heavy, and that, throughout the time, can be a problem.

There is also the falcam clip from ulanzi if you are interested and if I recall correctly it’s also all metal and has a plate that is also compatible with peak design. The bettle clip looks interesting but I would prefer an all metal piece of gear since plastic ages and eventually breaks. 😃
@simone_bortolotti
@simone_bortolotti 11 месяцев назад
Yeah you should be right, there's a clip even from Ulanzi. The thing you said about the material is completely important to keep in mind, but at the moment the plastic of the PGYTECH clip is still fine. But, if a person doesn't want to run into any risk, the total-metal clips are better for sure, like the Peak Design's one!

@simone_bortolotti
@simone_bortolotti Год назад
@fabriziocolista
@fabriziocolista Год назад

@simone_bortolotti
@simone_bortolotti Год назад
@simone_bortolotti
@simone_bortolotti Год назад

Grazie
@simone_bortolotti
@simone_bortolotti Год назад

Speriamo bene XD

An excellent comparison...thank you! I was interested in the PGYTECH Beetle Clip...Until I found out that the bracket is plastic! Sorry, but I couldn't trust it to hold a camera with a long telephoto lens whilie hiking, especially in changing temperatures and humidity. Too bad that the PD clip is smaller.
@simone_bortolotti
@simone_bortolotti Год назад
Thanks for the comment! Yeah, in my case, I completely rely on that plastic part just because I use it with a camera+lens of less than 1.5kg, so that's not a lot. For the PD shoulder pad's width, I've just measured it and that's ~5.5cm (the PGYTECH is ~7cm), and so maybe you can still fit it on your backpack, even though it's a bit bigger, that shouldn't be a problem.

So pgytech plate compatible with peak design plate?
@simone_bortolotti
@simone_bortolotti Год назад
Yeah they're almost the same. Consider that the pgytech plate fits in the Peak Design Capture V3, but you cannot lock the plate. Instead, the Peak Design plate doesn't fit into the Bettle Clip, just because it's built almost only for its own plate. So you can place the plates on various arca-type accessories, but I'd say you should avoid to switch the plates between the Bettle Clip and the Capture V3. I hope everything was clear, let me know if you have further questions

It’s not just so much easier for carrying your camera. Using your camera without a strap is so much nicer as far as handling and ergonomics go. In fact it was getting a new backpack, which meant that it was easier to take my shoulder strap off the camera and the improved experience using my camera without a strap,made me seek an alternative way to carry my camera. I ended up with a Nitze clip and I would never go back. I truly recommend taking the strap off your camera and look for an alternative way to carry it without a strap.
@simone_bortolotti
@simone_bortolotti 7 месяцев назад
Yeah you're completely true, using those type of clips for backpacks can definitely improve the experience of carrying and using the camera! But at the moment to be sincere I paused the use of the PGYTECH clip for two main reasons: firstly I got a backpack with the side pocket to insert the camera, and so I want to test it and see the differences from using a clip. The second reason is that I started bringing my camera with the external video rig, and, considering that I now have a Fuji X-H2 which is a bit heavy, it's not much comfortable to have lots of weight on the front with the clip. Apart from this, the concept of the clip for the backpacks remains extremely useful and great! Thanks for commenting!

@dubOZ
@dubOZ Год назад
asking cause I was wondering if the peak design plate works with the PGYTECH quick release clamp
@simone_bortolotti
@simone_bortolotti Год назад
thanks for asking, so yeah theoretically they’re both arca-Swiss plates, and they should be the same. But, while testing and comparing them, I noticed they aren’t exactly the same, in fact the pgytech release clamp is a bit smaller and so it perfectly fits its own plate, but instead the Peak Design plate goes in it but you need to push it a bit to make it fit. Personally I wouldn’t consider switching the two plates, so if you want to buy the pgytech release clamp use the pgytech plate, and the same for the peak design. And another important point you should definitely consider is the lock system, because pgytech and peak design have different system to lock the plate. So if you want to be completely sure to not have any issue with the lock system, just keep the same brand for the plate and release clamp, because they’re designed to fit and lock perfectly they’re own plate. I hope this can help and sorry for the late reply!
@dubOZ
@dubOZ Год назад
@@simone_bortolotti appreciate the info. Yeah I figured the answer was probably no. I was just wondering cause pgytech makes a plate that can go onto tripod threads and similar products. The compatibility with peak designs clip would have been handy but I guess a regular arca base plate would do
@ColinChick
@ColinChick Год назад
@@simone_bortolottiI came here wondering the same thing (I already have a PD Capture, but now have a second camera and was hoping the much cheaper pgytech plate would work. The locking mechanism difference means that's not worth the risk, unfortunately. So your review and answer here have saved me time and money. Thank you!)
@simone_bortolotti
@simone_bortolotti Год назад
yes yes theoretically it should work, since the arca-swiss standard is the same for both, but trying it I figured out that’s not completely true, it works yeah, but not perfectly and so I go for the same brand between mount and plate. Consider that, for example, apart from the mount you can use both plates perfectly like with tripods of other brands, so the arca-swiss standard is compatible.
