Very good presentation. I agree with you. Winter camping when it is dark at 4pm, a tv/tablet etc is a nice accessory. We use a tablet with my phone card in it. I have 120gb of data so streaming films is no problem.
Great video. We love our nebula projector we got a self supporting pull up project screen, sits across the front and then project onto the screen in the poptop the projector unit rests on a rail above at the back and so comfy to sit on the bed and watch.
Have you tried projecting it onto your pop top? I think the Cali Camper Family did that. We watch Netflix and I Player on our IPads, but this looks a good solution for a bigger screen.
Just ordered one of these off Amazon for £229 as they gave me a £110 voucher. I’ll be pleased to get the tv and aerial and bracket out of our vw camper in the morning which will give us a little more space 😀👍
Yes indeed! We went through that phase too of having a tv, magnetic antenna, aerial booster, bracket etc etc all in the van. Signal was always terrible so never really used it!
You certainly got a good price there Will. Best I can see is £400 with a £70 discount. At least it’s available unlike several other recommended items…!! I dream of a Fallcrest tarp every night 😂😂
We find it works just fine for us and we haven't found a problem with brightness. At least Amazon have a good returns policy if you bought one and didn't find it to your liking.
Do you think you can project from the side? I was thinkin to put a bed sheet or something just behind the front seat and project into them from the kitchen?`How is the sound when projecting? Because we usually watch a movie with the seat in "lounge" mode, which makes the side projection impossible for the one on the right.
Thanks for the video...another good watch Intrigued when you project on the side window can you see what you're watching from outside of the van or is the blind lined enough to stop this? Thanks in advance :)
Hi, thanks for this really helpful video, just ordered. Quick query when you have no Wi-Fi or 4g/5g on your phone. Currently I download entertainment to my iPad, but I’m told it’s not hard to connect a wire from my iPhone to the projector direct and effectively Mirror my phone it this way? Is this what you do? Did you ever have a go projecting into the canopy?
Hi! Fantastic! Well, the cable from iPad to projector can be a little problematic depending on any content locks (copyright protection) that might be in place for each of the apps, some seem to be ok others not so much (this isn't a nebula thing, it's a phone/app thing). We have now upgraded our nebula to the beta version of the software (you can ask their support how to do this) and it allows you to install other apps on it from the Google play store. This then means you can download episodes directly on to the nebula - so iplayer, Netflix etc all give you download offline options. From memory I think the nebula has 32gb of storage so plenty for quite a few episodes. It can also play video from a USB if you've downloaded anything on to that to watch too. In terms of projecting to the canopy - no, but I know lots of others have without any issues at all. Have fun, it's a great bit of kit!
Yes you can if you tether your capsule max to your iPad, it will then allow you to AirPlay to it. If that doesn’t work for you then you can buy a hdmi adaptor for the iPad and hdmi cable and ‘hard wire’ it in. Be aware though that Netflix and Iplayer won’t let you stream from your iPad though. RU-vid yes. What you can do with your nebula is contact their support, ask to have access to the Google play store and then re-download Iplayer, Netflix etc, as then it will let you download shows offline into the memory on the nebula too. Hope all that helps!
Hello! We did compare them and decided to go with the MAX for a few reasons, such as longer viewing time when on battery and the screen mirroring it has built in, which the II only has chromecast. Take a look at: projectorninja.com/anker-nebula-capsule-ii-vs-max/ for a detailed comparison of the two 👍
@@CampervanTime Thanks for the link it was very useful, hope to meet you both on the road sometime as we both share almost identical cali’s especially now your in the drawer club.
Thank you so.much for this great informative review of this product looks like a great piece of kit for the van love watching your vids ,thank you so much again, and happy new year to ye both ,hope 2022 is a better year for camping Best wishes and safe travels 👌🖐
If you have a T6.1 you can use the socket in the side of the drivers seat which is to the inverter - that delivers 300 watts which will charge the projector up. We’ve tested it and it works!
The other option of course is to buy a cheap 240v cig lighter (or croc clip) inverter that you can then use the normal charger with. I also think the capsule 2 model has usb c charging but can’t be 100% sure

Hi CT. I’m about to pull the trigger on a projector and I’m torn between the Nebula and the Viewsonic M1+. If you lost your Nebula and had to buy another projector, would you buy it again?
@@CampervanTime cheers! Just waiting for the £140 discount deal to come back on Amazon. I hesitated last week and the discount disappeared completely on 1st Jan. It’s come back on with £70 discount today so I may wait a little longer 👍
Hello and thank you for a great video, I'm in the market for a projector and now really keen on this.... BUT not technically minded lol, so a question please.... If we are off grid in our camper van with no Internet could I watch a previously down loaded netflix film from either this device or via my smart phone? thanks in advance. Howard.
I’ll do a bit of testing to answer your question. I know Apple but some restrictions in place on what can/can’t be airplayed and output via HDMI (by lightning adaptor) so this might not allow what you are wanting to do. Will test today and let you know. Do you have Android or iPhone?
Ok, I’ve had quite an extensive play with it this morning. Apple IOS devices can’t do what you want - either by airplay or HDMI adaptor due to digital rights management built in by Apple. If you have a MacBook then this does work via airplay / hdmi adaptor. If you have an android phone, then you can use a hdmi (usb-c) adaptor and HDMI cable and this then works fine. I haven’t tried any of the android casting type options. However… probably the best / most elegant solution is to request the password to install the ‘beta’ software from Anker themselves, as this gives you the google play store and opens up all the android functionality in the projector. I installed this today and it allowed me to download offline episodes in Netflix and iPlayer to the projector itself. It has 8gb storage built in so a fair bit for pre-loading Netflix content etc. A movie is about 400mb. Another alternative is to load downloaded movies onto a memory stick or external hard drive and plug in, as both of these work fine too.
@@CampervanTime Brilliant, just the info I needed, I have an android phone so it should be no problem, so have just ordered one, thank you so much for your trouble,..... just need a camper van now 😀 also on order due in July.
Yes I’ve bought and sold a few of these need to be in darkness to get a decent picture I have a smartphone I got in China with a projector that is more minimalist and better quality
You can do it three different ways, using the remote control, using the buttons on the top of the projector or by using the phone app which is a remote too
To mirror from an Apple device you MUST use official Apple products, if you use their lightening to HDMI adaptor you can send anything to the projector .
Hi Guys Just binge watched your videos & am totally inspired, if not obsessed with the camper van & your adventures. Could you talk about the solar panels & how gd they are at recharging battery life please 🙏🏽. ThankQ
I nearly purchased one 2 weeks ago at Costco on offer ! But my daughter talked me out of it ( there may be a reason ) great little things. Watch this space 🤔
Sorry but The Anker Solar is a far superior projector. This is old technology; not true HD (720p only) no stereo sound, no HDR 10, 200 lumens only. Not a great choice anymore
@@CampervanTime only twice the price for the one with a rechargeable battery. Like the model you’ve got, you’ve paid 50% of the cost of the projector for a battery. Which in the real world is not really needed.
