I love how much you care about the campsite. It’s kinda like your thing. I put a lot into my campsite too only because camping is a huge part of my life and one of the many things is love. Wish I had more custom design spaces to add the cute marshmallow and hotdog designs.
Oh my days... I only got this game to unwind from my hectic job at my hospital.. And I've literally got 5 star rating this morning.. Shocked.. My island is not fancy at all.. But took some good ideas from here.. To celebrate I'm cleaning the kitchen. Thank you for your videos ❤️
Something I did for my campsite was create cliffs leading into it so it was like you are going through a nature preserve or a small woodsy canyon to get back to the campsite itself. That probably works best for people who have put their campsite far away from everything else, and I think it looks pretty good (if anyone is looking for additional campsite ideas).
Sounds neat! I have the idea of a campsite that is similar to what is in this video, but placing it on the first level of mountain, with another mountain level behind it. And sorta secluded, with its own river going up the mountain, as a little fishing spot.
My only complaint is that the villagers don’t actually leave the tent and use the campsite, which is why I think I’ve been so lazy about putting a lot of effort into mine
@@Azay629 Once the tailor shop is built, there's a machine that uses internet and Nintendo Switch Online subscription to let you get custom designs made by others.
I was working on my campsite last night and I was like I'll build the bonfire not realizing how big it was until I placed it in my campsite. Definitely need to go back and just make a campfire, LOL!
I did a beach front campsite with a fire pit area. Also it’s 5 blocks back from the front corner where my pier is. There is no housing around. My fruit orchard is up a level behind to give the camp site some nice background with water falls cut in
I just discovered your videos because I’ve been lacking creativity when trying to design my island and now I’m binge watching all of them! You’re the Grian or Mumbo Jumbo of animal crossing😂😊
Love putting tools down to add to an area's "purpose", but I wish the developers made the axe with the head (?) planted onto the ground instead of standing up HAHA
My campsite is probably the best thing about my island. I have it on the top tier with a "hiking" trail around it. I have a small waterfall and pond for fishing. I have a clothesline, wash tub, bird house, sign, and lots of flowers and evergreen trees.
Thanks for telling me how to get the campsite sign! I've been wanting that for ages! Also the marshmallows are too cute. Definitely adding that. My campsite is on a mountain so I put a like star gazing area with the telescope and fold up chair with the camping magazine on a rock stool. It's such a quaint looking scene like the camper is star gazing and trying to look up constellations
I really enjoyed how you explain and gave options. And your voice is soothing to listen to as well. I’ll continue to watch as I get more ideas from you. Thank you.
I'm sure Pat will have great ideas for the museum. In the meantime here is a creator id for Cassie, MA-0082-5149-4561, who has 2 designs for bugs and fossils. The example pic showed both designs stacked and placed on the taller Simple Panel to create a standing banner. It's an approach you might consider.
A great and easy museum setup is putting small fossils on top of stone stools on the sides of the entryway. Throw a couple floor lights around and **chef kiss**
Awesome! Glad I'm not the only one that put those log stakes to use. I set mine up differently, putting a full border around the campsite with a line of cedar trees just inside the border. I didn't use flowers, but I planted a few weeds and scattered a couple of branches to make it feel more like a campsite. But I might look into that downloadable design...it's something I didn't consider!
Hey again Patrick! Another great video. Not like I will need tips for my campsite, since I have already finished copying yours! My island is slowly becoming to look more like yours but man, is it hard! I definitely respect you more now that I realize how longs it takes to make your builds. I have run into about three or four problems now, all about the layout of my island. Everything I've placed is easy to move, even buildings, but everything else like the peninsula and the private beach are giving me a huge headache! I have to really adjust to that to make this work. I found a semi-fix by essentially reversing your island so that it works with mine! When you see my island, you will basically be looking at a mirror of yours. Like my campsite, for example. I had to flip it to make it work! It is on the left part of the island instead of the right, and it is flipped by itself, too! Anyway, it is taking awhile but I will make it! Thanks again for your tips and awesome content, we all enjoy them and respect you! 😁
animals come to your campsite to spend time there but they never get out of the camping tent, it would be really cool to see them exploring around and interacting with villagers during their camping day
I just got my campsite today along with the new resident services. I watch you all the time and I have no ideas on what to do with my campsite and I watched this video and it helped me alot!! Thanks
My campsite is surrounded by mountains with waterfalls, and trees. I also put a picnic blanket with a lantern and a picnic basket. I was proud of my campsite area lol.
Harvey's campgrounds in New Leaf had that bonfire so I am guessing that's why it's such a popular default choice for many when designing their campsite
This is a really useful video! A suggestion for the future maybe, at the end maybe include some pictures or short videos of other campsites you like, to show even more themes! :)
Literally one of the first things I did once we could craft stuff was to make a bunch of log stake so that I could have my own homemade fence. It really made it feel like we were surviving on a deserted island and is still one of my favorite features to this day
First time commenter for you, but just wanted to say im glad to have your videos to watch! You are my favorite AC youtuber not only because you post tips that are realistic and original, but because your videos are quiet? Your voice and video tones are so relaxing! I often find myself watching these late at night and the fact that i /can/ watch them at night is so nice. Keep up the great work and i cant wait to see your channel grow even more!
Love your videos and design ideas! I am in the process of designing my camping area so when this popped up I was like yeeesss!! Just downloaded pocket camp and was able to download the sign! I’m so excited! Lol! Thanks so much! 🌸
Liked your video VERY much. Took a couple ideas from it and used them in my camp ground. The change is epic. Thank you. I started Animal Crossing with a plan for my Island and no idea how to make it happen. 1st time player with BIG dreams. RU-vid's like you are helping the dream come true. 😉❤❤
Instead of pulling out your phone each time to place custom patterns, you can use your terraforming tool and select the custom pattern design from there. It’s a bit easier because you’re able to place the patter exactly where you’d like. Not sure if you already knew this, but thought I’d pass it along anyway! Great ideas, btw!
Absolutely loved this video. You care so much about your campsite and it really makes me want to upgrade mine. Favorite part though by FAR was the marshmallow bag!!! SO CUTE! Getting that on my island ASAP!
After spending way too much time trying to find a way to make the bonfire look somewhat decent, I just gave up haha. Thanks for these tips!! Can't wait to try them out
if you combine the stumps and wild log bench, it almost looks like you cut down a tree and used the trunk as a natural bench as is. Might use that for mine
I’m missing like 99% of the stuff you showed just now, but I put something up quickly, and used the log table and the log stool or wooden stool, I have a campsite cooking equipment, and I put a tiki torch right on the corner of the tent, it looks nice when you light it up during the night
Felt a weird sense of validation from this video 😂 other than having some water (the area I've got my campsite in is a bit too small for extra water but it is close to the river) and the weeds (personally don't like the look of them) I've ticked all the boxes! Even down to the tree stump seating around the small campfire!
About the campfire you find toi big, this is a very specific campfire which we do a lot in my country and it is purposely huge so it seems realistic to me ^^
Hey! I think it would be cool for you to give some pointers on how to make your island look less blocky, and more open. I have a lot of fences off areas that I really like, but they just don’t look good as a whole. What are your tips for that?
I'm new to the game and I cannot wait to get to the design phase and lord have mercy I have to have the flamingo villager. My family has a special story involving my daughter and a mistaken goose lol so now I have flamingo themed stuff all over the house.
i made triple fencing and trees, i placed trees in a U shape, with some gaps, between them I made a layer of common fencing, the one tom gives you, behind a bush fence the another layer of trees
Thanks, I've gotten a lot of fun ideas from your videos! I wanted to ask though, could you be talked into making like a big google doc with the pattern codes you share? You share so baby good ones that are spread throughout videos, and it looks like you have the codes saved as image files anyway which could just be pasted into a document. It'd just be really handy if you have the time!
Could you do a kind of custom design 101 video? Just like tips and tricks to use them in the best ways. I’m so happy I found your channel it’s been super helpful designing my island! Thanks!
I was doing a campground too but I think my problem is I put down my dirt path pattern too much wanting my whole campground area to be on top of this large swatch of dirt and it looked weird - I think I may go for the natural look more, but I did use a lot of the elements you mentioned above. I forgot I have some flower and rock patterns I got that I can use too.
