Ohh, thx for this recipe! My sweet Mom used to work in the lunchroom of a neighborhood Chicago school. I was in Heaven when she’d bring some butter cookies home. Or, better yet, baked some for us. Never tasted a cookie so good!! ❤

Chicago! ❤️ A special place in my heart for Chicago "elements". I was born there and just before I turned 5, my Dad moved us to Tennessee, his home area. It was a culture shock and prolonged homesick feelings, I still get them some 40 + years later. Parents owned a Restaurant on Belmont and Western Avenues, across from "Riverview" I went there all the time. Boxo on TV, Ice Cream man, "the CUBS!" 🐾⚾ Birn mere blocks from Wrigly and lived by Lincoln Park ..... What the hell were they thinking??? It was my Natural Habitat. .... I shall enjoy "a taste of Chicago"! L9ve Chicago, and its the People that guve a geographic location its flavor, so I love You too! Best Fabulous Thoughts ... Do it like you do a old fashion pound cake, equal part butter, sugar and flour. add a little vanilla and a tench of salt. If it's not holding a shape add a little more butter.

There are 2 different measurements for sugar! The video shows 3/4 cup and the printed recipe shows 1/2 cup 🤔

Don’t do this recipe is a total scam mine came out horrible nothing like the ones here and I followed every instruction what a disappointment

Correct name is Scottish Shortbread Butter Cookies. Recipe should be 1/4 cup of sugar per cup of flour. Also, one tsp of extract per cup of flour. Southerners and African American generally add additional sugar to cakes, cookies, pies, breads, ice tea, kool-aid, etc.... My eldest 102 year-old aunt was taught this recipe from her Scottish/Irish grandmother when she was young in the 1930s. Walker, an imported Scottish brand, still uses the original recipe if you would like to purchase.
