Here are some of the greatest video game consoles of all time in my useless opinion. Thank you for watching the video, leave a like would you kindly? #playstation #xbox #gaming
Something about older consoles just fills me with joy. Every time I fire up my PS2 or PS3, I just feel joy. Another retro console I am thinkin of getting is a Nintendo Wii. We shall see how that will work out.
I'mma be honest, as someone born in 2006, I'm considering Super Nintendo. So many incredible games both from the first party lineup and third party companies. As a bonus Every game on that console also had a banger soundtrack bundled in. The console is only getting better with age too. Other consoles I'd consider are PS3 and Nintendo Switch. There's simply too many fantastic consoles out there tbh.
“Sitting in your basement, playing game cube and listening your parents yell and scream at each other in the kitchen” Is the realest line I have heard outside of Dracula Flow…
Id like to add that GameCube era gave Luigi his iconic personality. Games like smash Bros, paper Mario and Luigis manson all worked toward establishing his differences to Mario.
Never mind how good these console generations are which they are, no doubt about that, your videos are amazingly good if not great. I could listen to you reading a dictionary.
I recently installed an SSD in my PS4 Pro and got rid of the laptop-grade stock 5400rpm HDD. It made the whole system run faster and in general it feels more responsive. Also, open world games (the PS4 has many of them) load a lot quicker and asset steaming issues that caused stutters previously are now completely absent. All I'm saying is that with SSD replacement, the PS4 is more than capable and still very relevant.
Any recommended channels/videos about jailbreaking PS3s? I watched a few but I may be dumb AF because I don't understand what all the CEX, DEX, HEX, HEN do and why I need them.
Being old and having owned lots of consoles, my two most played consoles would be the Atari 2600 and the XBOX360. But as far as good games go, the XBOX360 wins hands down. PS3 is also right up there with the XBOX360, since both consoles basically had the same games.
My dude Kevin. I love your stuff. Not for nothing brother but you should make videos of yourself playing those games. If you’re going to sit and rot playing breath of the wild or whatever you’re playing then post it. We all love your stuff whether you’re taking about the game or not.
@@rondonnis6588 he has another channel that’s mlb the show. It’s my favorite channel on RU-vid. Dude is so defeatist. I cannot even watch his stuff without cracking up. I love it.
Speaking of companies giving up on consoles too early, it still annoys me how quickly Microsoft gave up on the original Xbox. It was almost like they decided after we got Half Life 2 on that console that it was over & they moved on to the 360.
My favorites are PS3, 360, Gamecube, PS2, PSX, Dreamcast, NES, and honestly the Wii U. Wii U had amazing games but now they are on Switch so there's no reason to buy one.
Since you mentioned it: recently I found out that praising Super Mario Sunshine is quite controversial, man... why? From the 64 to Sunshine, mechanics, creativity, the amount of content, and graphics made such a leap that the game holds well even today.
Dude, I'm telling you -- get yourself a 3DS/2DS and mod it. My modded Vita and 2DS have the best romance ever. Between those two systems you are LIVING. Modded Wii or Wii Us are also little beasts.
People forget that Blu-ray players were ridiculously expensive at that time as well. If you count that in, the PlayStation 3 was well worth the money, as the bluray player on the console was one of the best.
For me the ps3 was one of the best systems of all time, some of the best exclusive games and some great forward thinking future proofing features like a blue-ray player, rechargeable wireless sixaxis bluetooth controllers straight outta the box. Also all online functionality on ps3 was and still is completely free, no paid subscriptions required.
I think the vita and wii u failures were because fans didn't want to buy the same games in different places anymore, like the gameboy and gamegear days. Nintendo brilliantly combined their markets into one, while Sony had no choice but to move away from handheld
Nintendo Gaycube was the last "normal" console Nintendo made. Everything since has been weird, goofy gimmicks and nonsense. Even the Pbox was weird because it was, you know, purple, had a lunch box handle, was designed around the form factor with seemingly no concern to internals, had the tiny discs with limited capacity, modem and WiFi needed to be bought as an add on, and that controller with the gated/angled stick was bizarre. I'm a big time hater of the N Word and will take any opportunity to make fun of them.
Unpopular opinion: Unless you're a huge JRPG fan, the OG Xbox was better than the PS2. Since it was much more powerful, pretty much every game that was cross platform (most of the best games from that gen were) performed better, with higher resolutions and/or better framerates.
While not really a console, us old tards also played a lot of Commodore 64. That machine had thousands of games. And you could copy them off each other.
Also, yes, people do not realize how insanely good PS4 console & catalogue is. Some couple of years from now people will realize how PS4 is pretty much the second coming of PS2.
IF WE'RE TALKING ABOUT VIDEO GAMES, I MEAN THE BEST VIDEO GAME EVER, EVER !, THEN YOU'D HAVE TO GO ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE 1980'S. FORGET CONSOLES. THE ALL TIME, MOST DYNAMIC GAME EVER PRODUCED FOR THE PUBLIC IS STILL WILLIAMS "DEFENDER". THERE WILL "NEVER" "EVER" BE A VIDEO GAME THAT COULD EQUAL THE GAME PLAY DYNAMICS OF DEFENDER. WORDS CAN'T DESCRIBE JUST HOW GOOD THIS GAME IS. EVEN TODAY'S GAMES WHICH THE KIDS THINK ARE AWESOME DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE. THEY JUST DON'T KNOW !. DEFENDER RULES RETRO GAMING. SADLY CAN ONLY BE PLAYED PROPERLY ON AN ARCADE CABINET MACHINE. THE CONSOLES DO NOT DO IT ANY JUSTICE AT ALL BECAUSE THE CONTROLLERS CAN'T DO THE JOB PROPERLY. SO UNLESS YOU'RE OVER 45 YEARS OLD THEN YOU CAN'T REALLY HAVE AN INFORMED OPINION ABOUT RETRO VIDEO GAMES. YOU SIMPLY AREN'T OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE BEEN AROUND WHEN THIS GAME WAS IN THE ARCADES. I PLAY WITH MODERN GAMES CONSOLES. THE GAMES ARE GREAT WITH COMPELLING STORIES ETC BUT JUST DON'T HAVE THAT MAGIC INGREDIENT. SORRY !, BUT IT'S YOUR AGE THAT LIMITS YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF RETRO GAMES. I'M 55 YEARS OLD AND HAVE PLAYED EVERYTHING. AND "DEFENDER IS STILL BY FAR THE GREATEST VIDEO GAME EVER MADE. ASK ANYONE AS OLD AS ME.
You can take that xbox garbage off of there. They only have gears and halo, couldn't upgrade or replace the hardrive with standard laptop parts. Lack of support for Bluetooth devices, no bluray. Disc's scratched if the console was moved. Red ring of death if the console even tried to do a fraction of what the ps3 did. You had to pay to play online. Horrible, trash console.
You had to been around in the Xbox original and 360 era to realise they had more than that but now they don’t even have gears or halo since Xbox ruined them in the modern era.
@@kaylemjoseph8727 the only thing memorable was gears and halo. I was on ps3 at the time. Been gaming since NES. The only thing people played on the original Xbox that was an exclusive was halo. Lan parties were fun for that. But I never saw the need to buy one when ps2 had a ton of exclusives and beat xbox in every single way. My friends all bought the 360 because ps3 was "too expensive" and ps3 still won that fight in the end. Hands down one of the best consoles. The only thing better would have been snes era nintendo. Between snes and gameboy, I don't think there could be a better generation of consoles. Then nintendo went downhill and literally created their competition with the playstation.
@@dlcart1091 The PS3 came out a year later so some games were later ported but outside of Gears and Halo there was Bioshock, Dead Space, Condemned, GTA IV, Red Dead, Deadly Premonition, Alan Wake, and many others. There was also a ton of XBLA titles that were really run. It was a great console that has left me with really good memories.
@@oblivieon1567 ps3 still got all of those games though. And most of them like gta came out on ps3 at the same time. I remember buying it the same weekend my xbox friends bought it. Then during xbox one they started making all of their games available on pc. Which made absolutely no reason to go buy an xbox. My graphics pc for work was faster than their console.
The hard drive on the 360s and xbox ones can be replaced, and they are just standard 2.5 inch laptop hard drives... Not sure what you're going on about. There's cheapo hard drive caddys for the Phat and S/E variations of the 360, can find them anywhere online. you pop a new drive in the caddy and then pop the caddy in the 360 and your done. The xbox one isnt as straight forward, as it needs to be disassembled to access the hard drive. But from there you download the install files from Microsoft, put the files on an USB drive, plug the usb drive into the console, and then follow the onscreen promps. It's literally the same process as setting up a ps3 or ps4 after a harddrive replacement. As someone who's disassembled and delidded several Phat and slim ps3s, the 360 is a lot easier to disassemble and clean, and there's no nerve-racking deliding of the chips to apply new thermal paste like on a ps3, cause it's not like those ever succomb to YLOD or anything... 😂
