One of the more difficult parts of XDefiant is finding controller settings that feel great but after a ton of testing and optimization, I've finally found the perfect settings for me and I wanted to share that with you guys today while also explaining how many of the less obvious settings work. Obviously, many of these come down to personal preference so I encourage you to make adjustments that suit you. What are the sensitivity values you landed on with XDefiant?

For the sweats out there, team compensation overlay is a great setting to have on. If you’re pushing a certain area of the map and you see that you got three squad mates dead you might want to stay clear of it until they come back.

That blend tip for ADS transition is clutch. Makes things feel so much smoother. All the other stuff I had figured out and tweaked to my liking. But hadn't even thought to mess with that setting.

@@XvSuPreMzvXthere are two different sens when aiming if you don’t use a 1.0x ads factor and blend make its that when you aim in your aim doesn’t automatically adjust to your ads sens. If you play less than or more than 1 it matters but if you keep it 1.0x they’d be no difference between instant blend and after-zoom.

@@Destractoid and linear actually isn’t linear either, but that’s the games fault for botching the response curve and not misrepresenting a 1:1 ratio

Thank you so much for this video! It is a lifesaver. The controls on this game are the worst I have ever felt in a videogame, and even tweaking them using your suggestions, it still feels clunky. Whenever these games put in so many settings to fine-tune the controls, they make it so hard to make them feel good

I play cod on an 8:8 sensitivity and with everything else you mentioned we have very similar settings. This XDefiant setup is absolutely amazing for myself ! I tweaked a couple things like the vertical sensitivity but not by much and a couple other things but I'm enjoying the game A LOT more now thank you for this video!!! It's exactly what I needed ! I also play on Dualsense Edge controller so things are a bit different because of that too but overall fantastic guide !!

this video definitely changed my game. i used to be a low sens controller player that recently switched to KB&M, but after dealing with weird hit reg, im all for the higher sens and aim assist! i truned it down a little but tried to keep the ratio, like - 10 H -5 V.

Awesome tips ace. I use an 8 sensitivity for both horizontal and vertical in cod, and in this game I landed on 60/60 for both, tried 70 but it was way too fast. When it comes to my fov I also like 105, but having my aim fov independent, just makes seeing people when ads a little bit easier.

I use settings extremely similar to you (might try the 2/3 ratio for sensitivity which might help a bit) However it might just be me but I really got thrown off by not having CoD tier aim assist. I played this for about 4 hours with a buddy then went back to cod and man the AA is so different feeling to me. However i'm very excited for Xdefiant, honestly its very refreshing to have connection based match making again rather than EOMM. Amazing content as always Ace.

Yes I die round corners in almost every lobby it's either connection or the game has broken cameras where the enemy can still see me despite being round corner it's hard to tell without killcams

I play on 10-10 dynamic in cod and the controls in this game feel flawless now. It was rough at first, but I don’t understand how people are saying the controls don’t feel right. They feel different, like Apex feels different. But they are just fine. Tweak and play. Everything else is just in your head.

@@spoonover same here, settings felt weird at first but what I'm running atm which feels good is - 60 60 sens, blend and linear with a 0.85x sens multiplier. Seems to be working good for me. Blend definitely helped a lot. Reverse s curve also felt very weird to me, but linear felt much better

I can't aim unless i have controller vibration on. I noticed my first game on something was off so i kept shooting at a wall and noticed my controller isnt vibrating. Couldn't kill anyone without it

Yessir I was shown how to get in to the practice zone by Yt Jonny and I was really grateful for it . But the sensitivity settings have been a hassle cause i been tweaking them since launch and i will definitely try doing something similar to your's and see how that one goes. But i tried doing standard and linear and it felt off . But the s curve felt better definitely gonna turn that ping on to see the ping

I always copy your settings and they also worked great for me in every situation! With XDefiant I was on 35/35 and it felt so wrong so many times. I'm gonna try the 50/35 next game! Maybe it feels better.

I played ~1 hour with 70H 40V x0.75ADS and didn't feel quite right. I think I'll copypaste my r6s sensitivity (which coincidentally is 50H 35V) and play around with ADS.

Leaving aiming interrupts reload on means you can save a bit of time on the reload animation. Once clip is full, aim and carry on. With it off, you have to wait for animation to finish.

I really wish they would add a max deadzone setting. my controller for what ever reason doesnt go to 100% left or right when aiming with my right stick and so my rotational acceleration never kicks in.. it feels as though I am playing on a 4 - 4 sens in cod when moving around on "high sense" in XD. and this is because my max deadzone gate cant be adjusted. maybe they will add this in one day.

Sometimes it feels like my character is moving through mud; sometimes I’m skating on ice. Consistency of hit reg would help improve the experience (PS5 uk - wired fibre internet).

Movement is punished for continuous slides, you have to wait a few seconds between each one to get the full slide again

I personally have Melee while aiming on bc why not honestly and as for having aiming cancel your reload on or off...initially I assumed and played with it off.however I did find an interesting "Interaction" when having the aiming while reload cancel option on of which as of 6/30 when playing with it enabled you'll see that It actually allows you to come out of that reload animation notably quicker to say the least when compared to how long it takes to ADS after reloading with it disabled, as it completely removes the animation you see of the character "hitting" the side of the gun after a reload prior to transitioning back to ADS... I'd reccomend and urge ppl to test it out and see for theirselves. Its honestly quite an advantage once you recognize and play with it

They need more dead zone options. I have used precision rings for years now and have a hard time with these settings. I pull to the right way quicker than to the left. But I’ve never had issues with this on cod

5:12 I play 8/8 on CoD also. I'm using 44 Horizontal, 38 Vertical, NOT TOUCHING THE MULTIPLIER (YET)... and it seems "close" but not perfect. I need to play around w/ the multipliers I guess.
