Stayed at Wyndham Grand Clearwater this weekend. Paid 54k points for two night stay (automatic diamond status with card gets 10% off when booking with points). At checkin got upgraded to suite that would’ve been $3800 for the two nights for a 7cpp value.
For suite upgrade. You just come in and tell them thst you wanna have a suite upgrade? What if they tell you you cannot do that or no suite available. What would you do?
@@TienTran-bi1jv Yes just ask for it at check in. If one is available they will offer it to you (at least they should). If no suite is available then you get whatever you booked.
I reside in Los Angeles and frequently travel to Las Vegas on weekends, and let me tell you, it's absolutely worth it! The no resort fees is a major advantage.
It is funny. I really have no use for this card, and here I am, watching your video. I just find it amazing how well you present your thoughts without a stumble. ♣
My girlfriend was on the phone and on hold for 24 hours total with more than 12 different people (this is not an exageration) to get approval on this card, and she's got good credit. This is apparently common
Definitely agree that this card is very underrated. Even that gas earning rate is insane and can possibly be stacked at Sam’s and Costco for extra savings since it’s a Visa. I know my local Sam’s stations code as gas on Visa cards, so this is a great choice. I think Wyndham points work great for national park and road trip types like myself. Hyatt gets talked about a lot because of CPP, but their footprint is terrible and a bad choice if you travel off the main interstates. With Wyndham, you’ll find properties in no name towns and places you’d never expect
The matched worked in 2023, Wyndham Diamond giving you a match for Ceasars Diamond. But, this year Ceasars created the Diamond Plus thus cutting some of the Diamond status benefits to give to the new Diamond Plus.
Great video. People sleep on this card cause of their lower end hotels. They do have higher end ones. I use mine for gas, phone, utilities and matching the diamond status to Caesar diamond. I'm team Caesar for Vegas stays.
I just got the Wyndham Business Earner card for a trip to Switzerland in the summer. I’m staying at the Vienne House and with the Diamond status it should be great ! Thanks for the video!
Matched from Barclays to Caesar’s diamond Then matched to Carnival Got 7 day cruise for me a significant other for taxes and fees only Another great benefit of the card
I have this card and I love it! I also do live in Vegas and I am a Wyndhams timeshare owner as well, so I find it incredible for my lifestyle! But you shared some more hidden gems I didn’t know like the free valet/ self parking and that’s a game changer! Since I do live here! Lol. Keep up the great work @sebby love your videos and find them incredibly helpful. Keep pushing out the business cards brotha! ✊🏽🃏
I've had this card for about two years now. Outside of Vegas, you can still get some great value with this card, but it's still hit or miss. Somtimes you can find some nice rooms for the 7,500 points. Also Wyndham works at Harrah's which has a lot of non Vegas resorts.
🃏 just last week a friend and I went to Vegas and matched our MGM gold to Ceasars diamond. I was shocked they did it. However the person at the counter said I needed to earn 100 tier credits in order to unlock the main benefits from the status. So seems like they’re still doing it, but there’s just hoops to jump through now.
Awesome video and love this card. Used the celebration dinner at Amalfi (Vegas) and Gordon Ramsey Grill (Atlantic city) the next year. Stayed at the Tryp by Wyndham in NY for 30,000 -10% discount=28,000 points and got upgraded to a family suite. Was very happy! 🃏
Barclays has some of the toughest underwriting guidelines so be prepared to send in additional documents after your application is under review. Based on several data sources; it can take up to a month before you get the card. This process will definitely challenge your resolve. Still if you are successful, this is the only way to get Diamond status from Caesars via status match.
It’s even better if you combine this card with Caesar credit card. The Caesar card ,no annual fee, offers $5k spend for 5k tier credits, so after Wyndham matches to Caesar diamond status, 5k tier credit equals one free hotel night at Caesar locations. It’s the cheapest free hotel night to get.
I'm looking into getting hotel cards for work reasons. As a truck driver Wyndham and Hilton are the primary brand groups I have regular access to while on the road, which makes these cards ideal for earning on regular hotel stays whenever I need a break from the truck, or if I need to leave it at a dealership for maintainence or repair. Getting Diamond in both would be a nice bonus.
MGM > Caesars definitely, but Wynn rules over them all. Venetian and Palazzo used to be nice 15 years ago, nowadays they are both very much just a solid "meh", but they give me free suites so sometimes I end up staying at Venetian/Palazzo even though I prefer Wynn the most. It's weird, I don't even gamble at all, but Venetian/Palazzo had been giving me free suites ever since college without interruption. I honestly think they have a system error, where they are giving me comps based on someone else's play. Don't know how that's possible, maybe someone has the exact same name as me, but I am not bothered to get to the bottom of this as long as I am getting free suites.
I may have missed it in the video, but if you’re a sports gambler Caesar’s diamond status gets a $20 monthly free bet on its online sportsbook. Also if you’re not a casino person the $100 welcome dinner can be transferred over to a $50 Uber Eats credit.
They send you an email with a link to redeem as Uber credit. I haven’t utilized this feature yet as I’ve been trying to determine whether I’ll be able to use the rewards dinner or not.
I had bad experience with Wyndham diamond status. They don't give you welcome amenities when check in, there's no late check out. We stayed at LA Quinta Long Island.
🃏Great Video: I have three comments: 1) you can status match to MGM. I believe that you get MGM Pearl status, 2) You can also transfer points from Wyndham points to Caesars up to the limit of 60,000 points/year. Easier for me to use Caesars points than it is for me to use Wyndham points. 3) There are a few Laurel Lounges open in Atlantic City. Good deal for 1,500 Caesars points per person.
🃏 I've had this Card since February of 2022. Was just in Las Vagas last week. Booked center strip at Horseshoe. Hotel was 0.00 at checkout. Stayed Sunday to Friday. The 95 AF is 0 like you stated as long as you stay 2 nights a year at a Caesars Property. Not to mention the multipliers on Gas and Utilities! Also used that free rooms in Bahamas last year. The room fee per night was waived, but I still was responsible for taxes, and gratuity of the rooms. My daughter is on a traveling sports team. Being Diamond with Wyndham is great. One of the largest hotel foot prints on the market!
@Brandon D stayed in the Coral tower, was fun. 1st island trip for wife and I with our kids. We all had a fun time. They keep asking when we get to go back!
@Brandon D some say there is a gambling requirement, but my wife and I only went to the casino 1 night so maybe a couple hundred. I didn't get an email about it. Yes food and drinks are expensive. We are a family of 6, our avg meal price was 250.00 plus. If you get burgers/snacks at the water park not too bad. The reusable drink cups were 32 w/alcohol. 28 refill. Or 25 Virgin mixes with 22 refill I believe. The fountain cola machines are free refills. They use local purified water so my kids didn't like the fountain machine.
@@vigi401 awesome, thanks for the insight. Ima poker player and wife is slots so game play shouldn't be an issue. We don't have kids so idk if it's really for us giving the sale point of atlantis is Waterpark.
I’m on east coast, since I got this card last year and got Caesar diamond and mgm gold through match, I get constant offers for free rooms in AC, and free/cheap offers to fly and stay at various casino hotels with other benefits. The card is totally worth it, but I don’t use it to stay at Wyndham.
I got this card last December and started the process to get Hyatt status. Wyndham-->Caesars-->MGM-->Hyatt....then they cut the Caesars-->MGM connection before I could status match. Ugh!
🃏after watching Jeff Reese’s video on how much of a PITA getting this card, as a person who isn’t even supposed to have US cards anyways this seems like a skip for me
I was approved for this card 2 days ago. Got an email saying I was denied the day after I applied. I called their reconsideration line and they asked me to fax a 4506-T Tax form, copy of SSN+driver's license, and proof of address. Got another email saying I was approved the day after faxing all that over. Caesars diamond is useful, but this is more than a Vegas card to me. The utility and gas earn rate is slept on. Most people will get enough points through organic gas+utility spend for a 2nd or even 3rd free night. Adding to this, I think Wynham points are more valuable than people give them credit for. I can rest easy knowing that there will always be a Wyndham property or Vacasa where I want to go and that it will almost always set me back just 13,500 points.
I used this card to get MGM gold status. 😃 However, it has to be done in Atlantic City 🤷♂️. I consider Wyndham hotels to be on the same level as Choice hotels.
🃏 This is a super valuable video for anyone that frequents Vegas. I can definitely see the appeal of earning status with these properties, and to still be able to match to Ceasar's in a legit way with this card is pretty... well... legit! 😂
So what would your card plan be for MGM. Ive used my csr. I believe the hyatt card can match to a minior status match. What is the mgm approach. Last month we did resort world and are Diamonds with the aspire. The aspire helped us get a 10:30 am early check in and room was moved to strip view. Currently getting player club comp offers to return and also plan to use diamond status with hilton again when we return.
🃏Can't remember the last time I stayed in a Wyndham, but I admit this card is a hidden gem. The upside value of this card is incredible, but you have to know what you are doing with the card. But even for the more novice player who's starting to dip your toes into hotels, like myself, it's a great card for paying utilities and for filling up the tank. It only takes so much at an 8x or 5x category to get a free night. No other card comes even close to that via normal everyday spending.
🃏 I got this card in 2021 for all of these exact reasons! MGM has a similar, albeit not as good, match with Hyatt. Just have to be on the look out for when MGM matches Caesar’s.
Just got approved, took 1 month and 2 weeks for pending to turn into an approval. I’m a frequent Vegas traveler so I’m stoked for not paying those resort fees 😂
@@austinmacleod6153 Once you apply and get approved, you have to status match Wyndham Diamond over to Caesars Diamond. Took me a month for the status match to go through, but I’ve saved plenty from resort fees
🃏when I was younger I liked MGM properties by now I like Caeser Properties but my first choice is staying at Hilton Properties. I think the card is a good idea but I don’t like the Barclay Bank.
Atlantis: They no longer bill your room. I was there in Dec 2022. I did not play a cent. I read on Reddit as well, several posters posted the same thing.
Hey Sebby, I'm on year 2 of this card and wondering if it'd be a good idea to keep open with the changes. Can you please make an updated video on the value and if you think it's worth keeping? Also, some personal recommendations for good redemptions is also appreciated!
If you get value from the status (and how it can match) and the points, then yes. For a lot of people, the Vegas status is already worth $100+, which covers the annual fee.
Don't sleep on Wyndam's partnership with Vacasa. There is a flat redemption value based on nothing but the number of bedrooms (15k per bedroom). So, I could book a 1bd condo on the beach for only 15k pts when the cash value is $500+ per night.
Does it still work cuz I hard that you can only condo with Wyndham point that value 350 or less. For condo over 350. You cannot use wynham point. But that's 2cpp so it's still good
Love your content and all your videos on both channels... but you triggered me when you said mandalay bay wasn't nice lol you gotta revisit it, stay in their standard room, check out the pool... then give another review 😋
It's a solid card. I got it this year since a close friend moved to Las Vegas, so this helps with a good cheap lodging option at Ceaser's. I was also able to make use of the Diamond Celebration dinner. So yes that does still work. But other than the Celebration dinner and no resort fees I don't think the Diamond status gives much else. A lot of the Wyndham hotels are really low end budget hotels and I've heard the suite upgrades are very hit and miss even if it is a nicer property. And I don't think Ceaser's really thinks much of Diamond status now, after the shuffle it is clearly in the middle. Wished there was a way to get to MGM Gold since, overall I think the MGM properties just off a nicer experience overall. But it is still a keeper card for me, because of the super cheap hotel rates during the weekdays.
🃏 Thanks for the video. I am a long standing Rio patron. I was on the merry go round and now thinking about the Wyndam Business. Luckily for me I have one, but I am interested in the fine print relationship of Ceasars and Wyndam. They must be benefitting somehow from the status match process.
🃏 I'm curious if it would be worth it to get this card while also trying to juggle the Hyatt/MGM status. Hopefully I won't overload with too many hotel options in Vegas.
Barclays (the issuing bank of wyndham credit cards) unfortunately doesn’t do biz in Puerto Rico where I live. I recently got hyatt explorer status through bilt rent day snd already got mgm gold match. Planning to match caesars from mgm instead
Hello Sebby thanks for the video. Can you tell me if the Wyndham Business Earners Credit card Diamond Status expire? And if I have the Caesars Diamond Status at what time of the year can I use it to Status Match with my Wyndham card in the event that Wyndham expired? Thank you for your help
If i get Marriott Gold Elite through the Ritz Carlton card, can i match that to Wyndham Diamond, and then to Caesars Diamond? And is there any way from there to match to Hyatt Explorist?
Hey, just wondering if anyone has ever done a Hilton match to Wyndham, completed the status match challenge and than matched to Caesar’s?. Is it technically earned at that point?
One tip i use to get a lot of points with this card. Is to buy gift cards at a gas station. Bought $300 dollars in Amazon gift cards for 2400 Wyndham points. 👍
Have you done this more than once? If so, how has Barclay's been about this? I just bought a $500.00 529 Gift of College card from a gas station which can be used to pay any US student loans. I want to buy a couple more but I'm worried about clawbacks.
@@Ryan-gs5og I have done this a lot. Never heard anything from Barclays or other credit card brands I have used. None of my transactions have ever been declined. Pretty much every transaction I have on this card is at a gas station.
Would it still be impossible to get on the merry go round through the Atlantic City route? Going from Wyndham diamond > Caesar’s diamond > Hard rock royalty > Ocean’s casino Prime > MGM gold > Hyatt explorist? I’m going next month to try and collect the statuses but won’t bother if it’s not possible.
🃏I got the Earner Business at the tail end of last year when Caesars Diamond still matched directly to MGM Gold. Got on the MGM/Hyatt merry go round and I'm now (hopefully) set for a while. I'm more of an MGM person, preferring Aria/Vdara, and Gold status there is AWESOME for getting last minute dining reservations and skipping lines, not to mention the waived resort fees. The $100 celebration dinner was icing on the cake; I used mine at Amalfi for some out of this world Branzino.
