Ok man thanks for the response and input. I just figured since the ejk comes pre programmed for the intake mod then maybe I should but I'll probably just change the ejk for the exhaust and not worry about the intake.
Mainly issues of rider skill here for complaints, its 80% rider 20% bike, a guy finished in top ten in Canadas hardest enduro the corduroy on an 1980s xl185 against $10k KTMs. . .nuff said
Billy Bob in the mid 80's I rode a xl185 to irrigate rode up down hills trails every where and I weighed 190 lbs. loved the weight to power ratio. Friend had a xl250 I just thought it was tiring to ride because of weight. And I was in excellent shape, at time.

Can't do any big hill climbing he says! LOL I haven't found anything this bike won't handle. I have 13,400 miles on mine in 2 years so highway isn't an issue either. I'd say this is one of the best small dual sports on the road and in the woods.
Dual Sport Numbskullz dude you obviously don't have a clue what your talking about, I climb big shit with my 450 all the time, so I no what that little 250 can and can't do.
This really is the best 250l video lol, everyone else just putters around on it. This is the same kind of riding I like to do, good to know its capable of it. I'm still on the fence about buying one. Either a cheap dual sport or a bike for street and a bike for dirt. I rarely get to see much dirt these days though.
3123 in my town and even higher when I go up in the mountains to ride. I went and road yellow stone park last year and could tell a big difference in lose of power.
Alright geezer. Try 13 tooth front 42 rear , works for me . Lower end grunt and top end power , , nice looking trails you've got there , enjoyed the video. Cheers from England!
I tried doing some hardcore shit with my dude on his rekluse clutch ktm 300 and my bike only had issues on hill climbs. The bike was bogging down then the rear tire was also spinning on the climbs but I still sent it. I’m gonna have to get better tires tho cuz I spun out going straight down a trail and clapped a tree hard and could have really hurt myself.
great vid. thanks . that bike can take a lot rpm. most of us don't wind them up to rev limiter, because it seems to high. Just rev the hell out of it , I blasted along on my L for hrs. at 130 ish kilomiters per hr . no problem.. ( no joy either ) . cheers!
great video man! Finally somebody is riding trails on this bike on youtube :) BTW how is your suspension on 450r compared to this bike? night and day? is it worthy to upgrade suspension on 250l if you're not racing?
actually I like the suspension on the crf250l better. it's nice and plush like all the old school Honda xr's the only thing that sucks is that you bottom out to easy. but for the trails I was riding it's great.
Montana lifestyle the last gen XR's have harsh suspension actually. I've got a 94 XR250l which has pretty soft suspension. I've also got a 2003 XR250R which has an overly stiff fork set up which makes the bike pretty nervous handling. Once you get used to the way the front bounces around it works well though. I should mention that I weigh 125 and stand 5'4" so I am lighter than the bike is designed for.
Hay Montana Life, I'm wondering what altitude your riding at? We have a stock 2015 250L and your not describing our bike in terms of speed or power, we hit I-5 two on board and run 70-75 MPH in 6th gear even up the grades and into the wind, I'm 250lbs, however we are at or near sea level, if your several thousand feet above sea level then your loosing a lot of power.

Was there a good noticeable difference with your mods you think like huge I guess? I ordered the fmf powercore 4 with the megabomb header and ejk and was thinking about doing the intake mod as well. But great video.
yes it helps out big time. but I wouldn't want my time on an intake mod it won't do anything. if you don't believe me then just test it out first by taking of your plastic so that the air filter is exposed and ride it up and down your street a few times. trust me there is no difference.
looking closely at other videos I realize I don't see any sort of front cable or sensor wire for a speedometer. Please describe the set up for that system on these bikes for us. Does it really involve the front sprocket? Good video btw. Looks like a fun place to enjoy your Honda's.
Montana lifestyle shoot is there a halfway easy way into there? I've never been in the south hills but this looks like a blast. We rode mine out in shepherd and it was a blast lol.
I have this same bike with a few more mods, but when some of these guys say it will climb any hill they have come across they are dead wrong. I love my crf250l but I am also realistic and have owned and raced many mx bikes. I haven't found a hill I couldn't climb on my crf250r but on the L I sure have. Skill will get me up most hills on the L but some I wont try because I know the power limitations of this bike. That being said I can out climb a lot of dudes while on the L who are riding mx bikes, but they are not near my skill level. When it comes to Jumps big jumps forget it!
