Nice setup! I'm considering something like that for the home gym. One thing I would change is using nuts with polymer inserts or applying thread locker, especially for fastening the tubular steel to the rig/rack.

That's a solid idea. I check ours on a fairly regular basis, but yep, that's a good improvement.

Becky (my wife) and I are chuckling at this. Anything sped up 10x looks way better than it actually was, and you didn't see the part where we had to turn the bolts around. Thanks for the kind words, and glad you liked it!

Nice but you should put the cross bar (which holds the pulleys) on top of the large brackets, that way the force goes through the frame instead of pulling directly against the bolts.

We're big fans of Milo, but we may be a bit biased :-) About a year after this video, we got him a buddy, Parker - here's a video about the two of them in case you're interested: Milo & Parker - Gym Dogs of Testify ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7YC8ybBR-f0.html

Thanks very much! It's from Rogue, and it's their R-series/Infinity line (i.e., 2" x 3" uprights).

Can tying dumbells on a tough towel then hanging it on a high bar work?
@TestifySC

I'd recommend the cable and pulley approach - there's going to be a lot of friction with the setup you're describing, and it won't be consistent.

Which pulley system is best? That’s debatable. There are basically 2 schools of thought. False! Bears beets this system. Also, nice shirt.

I’ve used climbing pulley’s for years and just had them attached to my black pipe pull up bar. I used climbing accessory cord. It’s worked great but I’d like to add more pulley’s for additional exercises such as belt squats. Climbing pulley’s are much more expensive so I’d like to use the Lowe’s pulley’s similar to what you’re using here as well as that coated wire but I heard the pulley’s at Lowe’s are for rope. Is your set up here smooth? Or is there a lot of friction that makes the weight feel heavier and the movement less smooth?
@TestifySC
@TestifySC 3 года назад
It's been pretty smooth thus far, and it's been in place since May. The coating has started to wear on the cable, so we'll either just replace it (which is easy) or just leave the cable bare. To be fair, since we're a commercial gym, ours gets more use than a home gym setup, so if you are the only one using yours, it should last a long time.

@@TestifySC That’s great news. I can stop obsessing over finding matching rope, carabiners and pulley’s now. I appreciate the reply. Thank you.
