I’ve been struggling so much with these little ones, to the point where I almost quit this game.... After about 20 minutes of reprogramming my mind to hit the grass first as you instructed, the ball started to pop up and land soft like a soaked magazine on the green. My confidence is slowing coming back. Thank you so much for this mate!! Priceless!

To Mr Short Game. I live in Montreal, Quebec Canada and almost gave up the game due to that 4 letter word "YI-P-" (I won't even write it)... This is the drill I was begging instructors to give me. I am now again, in love with the game again, and am on the verge of breaking 80's again, as I did when I was a kid. Thanks for the videos and for the charisma making it fun... Your fundamentals are dead on. The hard part is how easy you explain it... Thanks John

Great job. Started having my son who just started golf watch a lot of your content. I have been trying to show/teach him but as with lots of teenagers. I may know what I’m talking about but I’m dad and sometimes they listen when it comes from someone else. Same thing happened with basketball. I played in college but they never listened and when a coach would say the same thing I told them, they would come home and tell me. LOL. Had to learn to let them hear from others and also make their own mistakes. My son likes your videos from home hitting into your net. He liked the turn your wrist for a little extra power video. Keep up the good videos. Without sports on TV we need folks like you to keep us entertained.

Hello- I do something when I golf that I am not sure is legal, or even OK, but I do it. I bring with me, when I golf, a few range ball's. For the first 1 or 2 holes, I will hit the range ball, before I hit my ball, (just off into the water or the woods) as practice, before I hit my ball at the hole. Especially, on the first hole, from the fairway, when I have 120-175 yards, and I'm not warmed up much. Well, that it! -Bryan

Just added to My collection as a great lesson concerning Chipping, but after playing for 30 plus years chipping is 75% muscle memory. That being said 1. You need to learn to practice the correct way You can chip 1,000 balls per week but practice the correct way. 2. Visualize where the ball is going to land. 3. Don't hurry your shot 4. Don`t get over the ball, and over think. The Training club " Medicus is one of the best training aids to train You to take your arms out of play and use Your body to get through the swing without being to handsy .5. Great explanation as far as how to hit a chip, but it does nothing to fix a yip. It doesn't seem like you've ever had that spasm in the middle of a chip shot that makes your muscles involuntarily do things you don't do when you practice. Ive had so many people try to help me with my yips by giving me short game techniques. They're all great tips but none of them prevent the spasm that happens when I need to hit a good chip. Unless you've actually had the yips, I'm not sure you can teach a cure.

Best to hit the top 1/8 of the ball, put some top spin on it and it crawls right out of the grass like a 4 wheel drive straight towards the hole.

Thanks, very useful. Can you explain which lifted club to use in this situation, 9i,pw,54,58,60,62?

This shot I was using a 60 but it varies depending on the situation.

You can use any club. It would require different swing based on the club you are using since this is feel shot and not full shot.

@@jdowns6749 JD, you're obviously here to get something for nothing. @MrShortGameGolf , in this case, gave the appropriate answer. Hopefully, he gave that answer so Mr. Young would find the FULL answer on his own. Without question, self-discovery is the best teacher for the long-term. I suggest you put it in the work yourself and you'll be rewarded. Now it's your turn to "keep up" and find the answers... Cheers!

JD, criticizing the channel owners' reply with your own pointless criticism is not being constructive. Try adding something of substance that people could actually use...
