Dude! Very well done with this video. Thank you for the support and for showing your audience the holster. We here at QVO truly appreciate you taking the time to put this content together and to include our products. It means the world to us. Keep the vids coming man, I'm subscribed!
We have a pretty similar edc foundation my edc foundation is a Shadow Systems MR920 Elite with Meprolight MPO Pro S red dot, Ramjet/Afterburner, SureFire XR1-A light, and I carry in a variety of holsters, iPhone 14 Plus, Pom OC black/purple, Kansept & Koch Tools collab Korvis S fixed blade, Streamlight Wedge XT, Dango Dapper wallet, AirPods Pro Gen 2, Apple Watch Series 9 45mm Cellular in Stainless Steel, snakestaff systems tourniquet, Kore Essentials belt, and the Kore Essentials Tactile Turn EDC side click pen.
I dig it. But I’d rethink the spare mag. The most common failure in any semi auto handgun is a mag failure. It’s not about extra ammo, it’s about ensuring you are mitigating possible failure points. And especially on apex carry, mag caddy right next to the gun is easy
As far as first aid is concerned, the tourniquet can be fashioned from almost anything. Those CATs are nice for people that use them regularly, like me when I was civilian medevac, but I would not waste precious real estate on my person to carry one when my belt would do the trick. I can even make two of them with my belt if need be because I do carry a knife. Knowing where the artery that is causing the bleed proximal to the wound is also helpful because you can apply pressure proximally to reduce the bleeding. Quick clot is great as well, but I am not carrying that on my person either. Both of these things are in a med bag of mine though. For first aid, not much you can do outside of basic BLS unless you have all the stuff. I am highly trained in that area, but if I have no blood product, angiocaths, ETTs, bag, IOs, etc., even I am severely limited in what I can do for someone. Pressure, pump chest (if you are at this point in a traumatic arrest the person has a 99.9% mortality rate btw), tie a tourniquet, positioning, keep other bystanders from doing something bad (like moving an unstable c-spine patient), and offer emotional support which will not be life-saving, is about all I can do. I think most people with my experience (literally reviewed/edited text books in this field) would agree. Accessible is great, on you is too much IMO when you have an inferior yes, but sufficient redundancy on your person.
@@TheKoreanMarksman Belts are great, especially if you have a belt that is sturdy enough to carry that very nice pistol you have on you. Honestly, in a traumatic situation, high-flow diesel (or in my past life, Jet-A) is the most important. Meaning, get them to a trauma center while minimizing blood loss. Stop/slow bleeding and get them where they need to be. A calm, cerebral head is probably the most important, but people tend to lose their *$&% in that situation.
As far as a TQ the best advice I’ve heard was if you’re prepared to poke a hole in someone you need to be able to fix one! I personally think a TQ is a must
PLEASE DO A VIDEO ABOUT THE GRIP MOD YOU MADE!!! I have a prodigy as well and have been looking for a C2 grip so that I could utilize the 16 round mags too. Would really love to see the how you did it and how much of a difference it made!
Man it’s gotta be a long journey to get a Prodigy fit for edc. I owned two of them and they were the most unreliable hunks of junk ever. Finally ditched them and went with the Staccato P and C2.
@@civisprotocol how were you able to save a life and film it ? How long did you have the TQ on ? and did you monitor it and wrap the wound once it coagulated? Did you time stamp it ?
Very good video, brother. I could relate to you when it comes to real estate on my body. I'm 5' 7" and I carry a S&W M&P Shield. I carried a Glock 19 for years. But, found that the Shield was easier to conceal for me. I'm also a fan of dive watches. I have a few Seikos and Orients. I will have to get one of those Nexbelts. Thanks for sharing.
Interesting and cool setup. If your firearm is a nightmare to make reliable, it's probably not a good choice to carry. I only carry something that is reliable straight off the shelf. Most any polymer/striker fired pistol will do, especially the newer micro-compacts. I have modified 1911s, but they are more for the range. Glocks and S&Ws are my choices. Tritium sites are my only mods for carry although I'll add lights occasionally. I like your flashlight and pepper spray choices. I add a keychain light and a SAK to my EDC. First aid supplies are jept in a bag. Civivis are cool for EDC and Damascus blades are pretty. For more serious use, a good quality stainless or tool steel is best, especially those that have decent toughness. Some knives i have that work well for general edc and self defense roles include the Soyderco Endura w/ wave opener and the Tenacious, Kershaw Blur, Al Mar SERE assisted and a discontinued Benchmade assisted opener. I'm considering the Spyderco Yojimbo as well. I find the Spyderco thumb hole to be easier to open than thimb studs for fast deployment with manual knives.
That's a very fair point man. I'll definitely be looking into a better blade and once I've got a butt ton of rounds through my prodigy, issue free, I'll feel much better haha. For now, I swap between that, my sig p365 and Glock 19
@@bill72pa Critical thinking would of lead you to conclude that my almost 55 year old arse has been called an OG at some point. But here we are on the internet where people think their opinions and perspectives are the be all.
That's a very solid EDC Pretty neat to see that I EDC generally the same things, also carry pom with that mentality (to de-escalate/have a less lethal option) Got me thinking tho should probably really get in the habit of carrying a torniquet on the body I have it...its there.....but man just don't wanna feel like a walking loot box
I dig it. Love the idea of the tq, especially that line. Do recommend trying out a Hunter Constantine Belt, I switched to it for the exact reason of back pain and it was the best update to my EDC.
have been using the airpods pro 2 at a indoor range for like a year, I do the same thing to reduce high noises. Definitely haven't break and not as good as earpro , but sabe you in a pinch if you kist need something.
Hey bro, I had the same belt and felt a lot of back pain. I switched to the tier 1 EDC S belt and absolutely no more back pain! Check it out if you haven’t already!
Nice set up. Have you tried the DCC monoblock clips for holsters? After using it I could never go back to the bulky plastic ones like that. Love the gun look forward to the video on it. Liked & subbed. Good luck with the channel
I have used them!! On this belt specifically, the metal kind of tears up the fabric of the belt when putting on and taking off so I've gone back to plastic for now
Assuming you have a weapon light, does carrying an extra handheld light offer much over just using the light on your phone. It’s something i have been back and forth on for a bit and would definitely like to hear some other opinions.
You can't effectively scan an area with your phone light, and you absolutely shouldn't be scanning with a WML. I've been working in the dark for over a decade in and out of uniform and if I had to choose a high candela handheld or a WML, I'd pick the handheld every time.
Honestly that seems so annoying to have all that on you everyday. I just keep a 400lumen light, a couple multi tools/fire starter and headphones all on my keychain. Then I got a wallet on my phone case and my m&p for ccw. Might copy you on the POM pepper spray tbh.
I am not knocking your choice of firearm for every day carry. But why carry a 2k plus gun for self defense? If you have to use it, you will lose it. With the possibility of not getting it back?
Had an issue with 2 prodigy’s. The RMR & acro plate screws kept walking on me no matter what Loctite I used, was frustrated enough to sell it both times. Sucks because I LOVE the prodigy
Bro, you have like 2,000 if not more in the prodigy and then carry a 65.00 knife. Ouch... Get a Spyderco, Microtech, Benchmade, Hogue, Medford, Protech, Hinderer and thing but Civivi.
You got me there than. Like I said, it’s not a defensive tool just for utility for me and I do appreciate the recommendations! I’ll have to look into those options thanks
@@jordanwright5289so he can destroy it on boxes? I carry a beater knife and a small fixed blade. Beater knife for utility and nice fixed blade for fidget, show off, defense and really heavy tasks in an emergency
It’s important because if you carry a gun with a weapon light, you need a handheld for admin tasks. If you carry without a light, it then becomes the only way you can illuminate someone before discharging a weapon. Also, it’s probably the #1 most convenient item I carry for shining a light in a dark spot to find things
You are right, you don't need a tactical light but at least a small keychain light (200-400 lm). Try putting your phone on your mouth to illuminate something, besides the light on your phone is quite floody and the battery on your phone should be used for coms.
As a garahe door technician that does repairs and replacements for apartment complexes, atleast once a day I'm stuck in a garahe with a non functioning light bulb. A flashlight woth a recurve clip to secure to the bill of a hat is a game changer for me. Everybodys EDC requires different needs to be met
Thanks for the vid man. If you're looking for a new pocket knife, you might look for a bushcraft specialized which has a thicker back spine to press on with your thumb or strike with a baton. If you're not sure about the durability of a certain model, try to find video of its tip failure just to have an idea. Tips are the most essential for any knives as they're always the weakest parts, used in many unexpected conditions, and will hurt you if they break in action. A reliable knive will last you way longer in the times of crisis. Sharpness is less important especially when you have a pistol with you. Knives are not for self defense. A tactical flashlight over 1700 lumen will do a better job in a distance without lethally harming your threats. Best part, they're legally accessible around the world. Good luck!
@@Ptweedon it’s a bit heavy for all day everyday carry but it’s a great gun. I’m not sure id carry a stock one unless you put a bunch of rounds through it problem free
Everyone carries keys, wallet and phone. Apart from that you are carrying 3 deadly weapons, one submission weapon, 2 torches (and the phone one), 2 tourniquets and ... earbuds. I bet the earbuds are the only thing that ever get actually used.
I use the flashlight often to find things in the dark, the knife to open packages, and the "2nd tourniquet" is my belt so that holds my pants. The other items are high consequence. Meaning, the consequence of not having them when crucially needed is so high that I'm willing to inconvenience myself daily by carrying it all. Cheers mate
