when i was a kid i was never without my skateboard. loved it. this video has made me miss those free days boarding everywhere - i often wonder how scary it would be on an electric! fun, but scary hehe. fab vid.

My bloody bum nor my broken shoulder stop me at 50. Now I ride in Batman gear. Last fall at 25 mph I skidded on my chest armor into a sommersault and got right back up. Wear protective gear brothers.

I'm 58 and I don't care what other people might be saying about me either. I tell my friends, " Even when I get 65 or 70 I'm still going to ride my eboard" I live in NYC in the bronx borough and can't imagine doing my errands without my board. It's common to NOT own a car here and this is a very affordable and convenient alternative to get around. If my target is 4 miles or less I'm taking my esk8. Road conditions are all over the place here (some streets are good other ridable other stink to high heaven) I ride a modest Backfire G2 2022 and the cloud wheels imo do make a difference in ride comfort and confidence. Yes they cut my range (that sucks) but I can't ignore the improved ride comfort.

Just came home after riding a Exway Wave more or less all day (I only used the little 99Wh battery) - but softer wheels might be something I will try later in the summer - uneven roads, rough asphalt and gravel is annoying. Oh - you are 41? I'm 52, skate or die 😂😂😂

Having now tested both sets of wheels, Did you notice a major change in torque when you installed the newer wheels?

Thanks for the review. I started (manual) long-boarding about two years ago at the young age of 59 ;) My company mandated a return to the office 3 days a week so I just picked up a V5 for the just under 3 mile commute (essentially flat) out here in Salt Lake City, Utah. Today was my first commute. I mixed it up with some road riding and (mostly) pavement. I ordered the donut wheels and am eagerly awaiting their arrival. By the way, was that Margate in the background? My family lives there but I'm not confident enough that it was Margate's Winter Gardens in the video.

As someone who rides an illegal e-bike, dont want to appear negative but think people should be aware that these boards are totally illegal to use on UK roads and pavements. You risk a fine and having the board confiscated. Illegal e-bikes are much harder to spot, electric scateboards and e-scooters stand out a lot lot more, increasing the risk of getting caught.

Just be predictable, and follow traffic rules (don’t be running red lights or swerving into incoming cars). I’ve been commuting 4 miles every weekday to work on my e-board for six months, passing by two police stations every time, and I’ve gotten no trouble at all
