I’ve been waiting for this video! You’re definitely right about this being one of the best sounding exhausts for these cars. I think the AWE is the best and only good sounding loud exhaust and the Cobb is the best quieter one. Great video!
I’m stuck between this exhaust and the Cobb 😩😩. The Cobb is deep and clean and the awe is in your face. I like them both lol. The adult(32) in me says get the Cobb but the 20 yr old in me says get the awe.
Absolutely sick bro! I went with the Ford Performance 2.5" catback and Procal 3 for warranty purposes but if I wasn't concerned about the warranty this is the sweetest exhaust and pop/crack sound imo.
Another great video! I wanna get this exhaust for my ST, but I’m worried it’ll be TOO loud. Will this have my neighbors giving me death glares every time I start it?
If you don't make eye contact, or leave quickly so they wont have time to glare at you 😅cold start can be loud but I also have a catless downpipe so the turbo whistle gets loud along with the exhaust but normal start is not loud.
@@BenLovrien appreciate the reply! I might just go for it and I’ll have the touring edition conversion to fall back on if it’s too loud without having to buy a whole new exhaust.
I have been running the CNT Racing catless dp and cat-back set up for years..great quality and I got it before it was 'popular' and sold out. Its 2.5" and for the stock turbo, is IMO the best exhaust...more subtle, aggressive but tolerable... but possibly going big turbo ill need a 3" set up...greatly considering this exhaust from AWE... im guessing the pops/crackle is in the tune..curious what it sounds like without it... good vids though...thanks for sharing!
Sick video man ! Keep it up. I Have the same exhaust and it sounds awesome .. planning to get a catless dp but im a bit worried the it would drone a lot . How is it while cruising on the highway? Is it very different from the stock dp ?
How would this pair with a catless downpipe. Im currently straight piped and I hate it. The fumes are horrible and the noise is horrible. I was wondering if I paired the downpipe with a performance exhaust it would sound better and get rid of some of the fume smell.
It was a huge mistake getting the “track edition” for me at least… now i have to pay up another 600 just for the resonator as opposed to just getting the “touring” right off the bat. I don’t really recommend this exhaust if you plan on driving the car a lot, especially highway miles. It just gets so dramatically drone-ey and buzzy, vibrates a lot. Mine is literally shaking the door cards loose in the front doors lol. It sounds great yes but in the lower rpm’s and especially when decelerating 3k and down it gives that tingle in your ears and just gets obnoxious after a while. We live in the sierra nevada foothills so theres a shit ton of elevation change no matter which direction you’re going and it really shows off that drone. That’s just me though and likely 10-15 years ago I would’ve been all about it.
Hey man what setup do you have here? Sounds awesome!! I’m looking into getting the AWE track edition exhaust for my 2017 Focus ST3 but not sure what setup to go it’s completely stock! Love the video man!
When buying from awe directly I added the touring muffler...it's a great axle back conversion, when driving the little ones around there is virtually no drone! Step on it, and it's just as loud as the track edition! Trying to to get more turbo whistle but on the resonated set up is minimal. Overall I'm very pleased with it, compliments the sporty additude of the ST.
If you fellas are running a down pipe be sure to swap out your plugs for one step colder and add a tune... you can get away without a intercooler, but it is highly recommended!
I really am trying to decide I'm gonna go big turbo I stuck between the touring and track I don't want crazy drone but I want it loud I'm going big turbo as well please send feedback thanks.. rn I got stock exhaust but res and muffler delete so straight pipe basically
I love this channel and I love your car. But honestly this is a baaaad idea for me to be watching. Gonna turn my st into a money pit. I’m too much of an impulse buyer 😅
Oh I just thought of a question for you. I recently bought what I believed to be a ST3 it has the heated leather recaros. Leather rear seats. And leather heated wheel. All st3 things but no large display, no sunroof and no stock Sony sub. Do you think the previous owner installed all that or are there different levels of each package
Dope! I have the track as well on my ‘17. I gotta ask though, what’s your setup as far as downpipe and tune? I like my exhaust but I’m on stock downpipe and stock tune and I feel like it sounds a little weird with the exhaust going from the stock 2.5” downpipe into the 3” exhaust.
If you got FMIC run stage 2 (93 octane version preferably) which is best OTS tune, I believe they actually got rid of Stage 3 OTS. I would strongly recommend looking up JSTuned and Brian will get you a tune just for your car, much better power and reliability on custom tunes. I'm at around 70k on his tune and zero problems, also if you get a catless downpipe he can setup a Stage 3 tune good for about 300whp
@@wickedwonderingdream of course just use highest available octane fuel/map that you can get, I forget some people don't have 93 for some reason? Also make sure your Accessport is up-to-date to get newest files thru Cobb Accessport Manager
