The inner rail is really important. It’s not just to hold them closer. It’s to protect their fingers if you brush past something and scrape along it like a tree branch. They’re supposed to hold the inner rail and the outer rail takes any hits so their fingers don’t get damaged

I just bought one these about 3 months ago and the more I ride it the better I like it. I live in a beach community with a flat terrain so I rarely take it out of the "0" assist mode. I must say the ride can be a bit rough with no shock suspension but since I mostly ride on smooth surfaces it's not that big of deal. I will admit that after about a half hour the stock seat gets to be a bit hard and uncomfortable for me and will probably upgrade soon. I love the running boards because it gives me a place to haul my beach chairs,one on each side. I just use bungee straps to secure them. This is my first e-bike so I'm learning some things the hard way. I must pay close attention to make sure that I stay in zero assist mode otherwise it acts like a cruise control on a car. I ran into a parked trailer when I first got it as I slowing to going into a turn. I was unaware and didn't realize it was in "1" on the assist mode.

@@AuthenTech "price competitive" this is one of the cheapest bikes I've seen yet. I'd KILL for a dual suspension on this bad boy. This is one of the best bikes I've found in terms of price and customizability. All it needs now is the option for dual suspension and the ability to put a double large or an XL basket on the BACK and not the front. I fully intend to use this as mostly a single person cargo bike, so I don't need the extra padded seats. I need a basket on the back similar to the ones you can mount on the handle bars. If they could allow me to just customize the frame a little to accompany 2 baskets on the back, then I'd be almost 100% set. (minus the suspension obviously).

Hi I'm an avid rider and the radwagon is the next bike I'll be adding the my stable for both the child friendliness and the ability for it to become a tool to generate extra income for my family. You mentioned the saddle was an issue just by looking at the short clip of your seat angle I can tell you're probably getting a little numb after longer rides, you should aim to have your weight on your sit bones. This could be achieved by changing the angle so the front of the saddle is not higher than the rear.

i agree. the seat was discouraging, especially for a bike that costs this much, they could have included a shorted version of a moped type seat. also, the lack of security features on the bike is worrisome. these ebikes are top targets in cities for theft. what security measures does radbikes have in place for theft prevention? i assume there are some considering the high cost of the bike.

It's a cargo bike you can't have shocks, they'll be either to stiff or to soft depending on load.

Looks like a solid choice for people with kids or those who do delivery jobs. Having a lot of accessories to choose from really makes this bicycle tempting, lol. It's not a sporty bicycle, but I'm sure there's other bicycles out there for that sort of thing. Out of curiosity, have you heard of Emmo? They're a Canadian company that produces electric bicycles and motorcycles. Their products dominate the streets of Toronto, but since they're currently a domestic brand I'm not sure what Americans would think of them or how they measure up to others. Great review though!

Mine's been great except for when the controller stopped working three weeks into owning it and RadBikes took three months to replace it. The bikes are affordable but the quality is dubious and in the E.U. the customer service is overwhelmed and rather terrible. As long as you don't have any problems, you'll be fine!

I got this a couple months ago (had to wait a month for it to get back in stock, and should have taken a clue about this company right there), it's been sitting broken with a bad controller since 29 October. They sent an entire bike to replace the controller as their stock of controllers (like much of their other parts) are not in stock and they don't know when they will get any. This is for almost every single part they have. Good luck with replacement tubes and tires. If I were to keep it, I'd change out all of the proprietary junk for something you can grab from any bike shop. Sad, as it is a nice bike - minus the noises, broken parts, horrible assembly, needing to tune derailleur right out of the box, dealing with them via email (they don't like talking on the phone) and getting the runaround and a sack full of "sorry".

I purchased a radrunner plus about 3 months ago. I was sitting on my porch waiting for fedx to deliver my bike. To my horror as the single delivery driver who was taking it off the truck, BOOM, he dropped knocking about one foot of the box off of the box and taking a big chunk out of the front brake caliper! Fedx should never have expected only one driver to lift such a large and heavy box. Rad company gave a choice of sending the bike back or taking it to a bike shop to get a new caliper . Since there was a wait time due to Covid if I wanted a new bike I took it to the bike shop, after waiting a week for the part, about a 20 minute drive, and a one day wait ,I was ready to ride. Rad paid for the repair and gave me a credit for an accessory bike rack for my trouble . I was comfortable accepting the bike instead of refusing it from fedx, before I found the damaged caliper after unpacking, because of all the reviews about the excellent customer service that rad provides. I was uncomfortable about buying a bike from other companies because of no return policies. Rad rover was the only company that I saw, that as long as you had not wrecked or scratched up the bike has a 14 day return policy if you are not satisfied with one of their bikes. I’m 72 years old with a pacemaker and 9 months into the usual recovery time of about a year for the cervical surgery that I had. I was concerned about riding because I’ve had a small amount of balance issues. Riding the bike has actually improved my balance. I use the throttle when I first start out and on hills or when I want a break. I was amazed at the quality of the bike, and the welds in the bike and the overall beauty of my radrunner plus. I am a retired pharmacist living in Florida and have received nothing from radrunner other than a bike at full retail that I paid and the basket for my trouble in taking the bike to the shop. I almost bought the folding radrunner mini step through a it would be easier to transport, but luckily we own a car and a pickup that I can use for transport. I was totally satisfied with the customer service!I would recommend either of these two rad rover bikes now that the bike shop rents out these bikes and I’ve seen the mini in person.

Great video, thanks.. I like the RAD bikes.. LOVE the 22" wheels..(THAT is unique +brilliant) I would buy one if they made a lighter weight version of THIS bike, with a smaller motor (500 HP will do), weighing significantly less than 76 pounds, +with cargo load of a lot less than 350 pounds (I love cargo bikes, but who needs to carry 350 pounds worth of stuff... on a freaking bike?) It would be better just to have a LIGHTER bike with a thinner frame, cuz when you need to get it up +down stairs etc.. or if u have to push it, or pedal it, when the battery is off (or no longer has a charge..) combined with the fact that the heavier a bike is, the more harsh it is on your back when there are no shocks.. (If they made a version of this with shocks it would also be very tempting, not just for the physical comfort, but to enable whatever you are carrying to arrive in one piece..)

I think it's just not a proper bike for your needs. 350 pounds of load definitely ain't too much for a parent + 2 kids cargo bike. Cargo bikes are made for work. Car substitute. Everyday trips to school / work / groceries and so on. Mileage of several thousands km a year or more... Nobody expects cargo bike to be light enough to get it up the stairs. You don't get it up the stairs. From what you wrote - you just need a regular bike with a rack - not a cargo bike.
