Helpful tip every man should know... Spit on it! Seriously, get spit on the line where knotting to lubricate it so as to avoid some of the friction on the line when tying a not. More of a factor for monofilament, but i still do it when using braided line anyways.

Went to an Indian resturaunt shortly after getting a new phone. On the way to our next stop the gps voice lady somehow set itself to Indian. Upon realization testing ensued, and we successfully got it to change between Italian, German, and British. All with a few bad accents. Also, yes. Talking about products services or events around your electronics will influence your profile. Its all in the name of tailoring your experience to be better. (And make some sick ad revenue from you. I threw in a CD of a band I hadn't listened to for months. Got home and when I went to RU-vid later that night that same band was in my recommend list. Hadn't Googled or searched for them on my phone, only played the cd in the car & it's an older model Civic with no modern gps/Bluetooth/connectivity etc. Creeped me out too, only explation, phone is listening!! (Or even scarier, it wasn't listening to the music in the car but reading my mind about what music I wanted to listen to!!!🤯 Hopefully we're not quite at that point yet!!)Cheers 👍

Very well done video. We called that a blood knot, but when we tried it on a stress tester (this was way back in the 80s) it didn't do as well as the knot we called Palomar which was also simple and elegant. Important to wet the line when tightening as well since frictive forces weaken the material during tightening.

@Pobsta-de7hb
@Pobsta-de7hb Год назад
Always wet your knots before pulling tight, and another great tip is blob the tag end by burning for a second with a lighter, the blob forms as another great back up should you not slip at all what so ever. As for being a boilie knot, it isnt really a hair rig as you go back through the eye with this but its a good knot for rigs if you use swivels or rings for boilie attachment to the hook, good video, just searching some for my little son, as I think him watching them rather than me telling helps a lot as I tend to just do my various rigs and knots to fast when I show him but expect him to have seen lol

I learned it differently. I learned to double the line as it goes through the eye, otherwise the metal might cut the line. With a double line through the eye that cuts the tension in half and eliminates almost completely the possibility of that happening. Otherwise it’s a pretty simple butcher’s knot with a couple extra turns.

When I was a young lad I would tie a triple granny knot with amazing success. Too funny to think about things that you used to do . Now I use what I believe is called a "Blood Knot" which ends up looking like the knot shown here. The difference between the two knots is that I loop the line then insert it thru the eyelet and continue the process. The loop gives you a stronger and more durable knot where the line meets the metal . Never has this style of knot ever failed me.

There's a problem with this knot that my son and I discovered when he did a science project on fishing knot strength in middle school. The wire that the hook is made from has a sharp edge that monofiliment line gets cut on under tension. Other knots that wrap around the line instead of the hook shank are about 20% stronger since the hook itself isn't cutting the line.

This knot has a major flaw. I know this from experience. Monofilament fishing line will get pinched between the very end of the metal eyelet wire loop and the straight shaft. The sharp end of the metal wire will cut into the pinched fishing line and it will break as soon as you hook a large fish.

The young man yearning and needing his new pair of shoes for school gathered up enough courage to ask his Mother "Mum do you think you could purchase me a new pair of shoes as my old ones wore out they talk now". The shoes having put up with a lot of abuse simply couldnt do there job anymore. Even though the young man knew his mother was to poor to buy the shoes he plucked up enough courage to ask. Then the mother replied "Sorry son the costs are just to high and with all the children to feed I cant afford the costs so its a no from me". OK the courageous boy said, so he ingeniously went to his next plan. Gathering in a roll of black duct tape he grabbed his shoes wrapped and wrapped and wrapped fixing the soles back. Then satisifed painted the shoes black. Then the next morning he presented himself to his mum proudly and said "Look mum good as new" chuffed he then left to school. The mum proud of her son then did not realise this would be the last time she would see her son as he departed. At school this courageous young man was bullied, laughed at and scorned and taunted all because he tried to repair his shoes that looked far from ordinary from other students. Later he took his life.

Удивил . Мне 80 . Я когда ходил в дедсад завязывал так крючки. И потом ребятами ловили селеву.

What gap do you use? I've had the best luck with a 0.046", just don't let it fly off and hit a windshield.

Never used it. Always just “double looped” the hole in the hook until there was a knot - whatever method that is called. Thanks, I might try it. Looks a bit more “neat”. :D

I like the palomar knot. 1. It's got to be one of the easiest and fastest knots to tie. 2. It's very strong 3. It's hard to mess up 4. It's great when the boat is rocking. Cons- It's really meant for securing a swivel / hook etc. Not to tie directly to any kind of lure like say a Rapala where it has a long body.

I love the palomar; it's easy to tie and super strong, although I would list under cons that it can pull through on some braided line.. only issue I've had in my albeit limited angling experience using the palomar.

For me the improved clinch knot is much better as it is much quicker. It does not have the strength but is string enough for me.

Go through the hole, leave a loop on your hand. Then hold that loop, wrap line around the shaft of the hook. Then go through the loop you made. Very similar to yours here.

I was taught this knot by a man who passed by the river where I was fishing. But he showed me without a finger. Greetings from the homeland of science fiction writer Isaac Asimov.
