This is not the best emulation I've heard. But it's not the worst either. It sounds pretty good, the only cons would be the interface for me. The menus are not super intuitive, especially the ''screen'' of the synth. Let me know what you think guys! I really like what Behringer is doing right now. They're killing it. I know it's a polarizing subject, but I like the fact that they are helping musicians that don't have the chance to buy 4-5k synths.
I would say that this is an interesting synthesizer for layering - with its help, you can structure various analog sound additions, afterthoughts. This will enliven the composition, give it weight and meaning. A good helper! But it's not for commercial electronic music.
Awsome stoked to get the license on this , curious if the rerelease is a different file than the first release? Not sure if I should download and reinstall or not as I have the original installed still.
I'm beginning to suspect that the market is getting really oversaturated at this point. There are so many good free synths out there and if you compare of them to this, this one is not special. To me at least.
@@Tonepusher Annoying is putting it mildly. If, nowadays, you release anything for free to attract new or more customers, make sure that what you're giving away is actually worth checking out, working well and pleasing to the eye. Even that GR-8 synth looks way better, or any of the free U-He synths. Or Odin II! Anyway, too many to mention!
It seems good if you like to program your own patches. Overall, rather underwhelming. Behringer kind of took the analog synth word by storm, so you'd expect their VSTi to be amazing. Can't complain too much about a free synth, though - it's more about their reputation. After all, other software devs make amazing soft synths. I think with more usable presets and a bit of an interface overhaul, it could be great.
Yeah I agree, the presets sucks big time...I mean it sounds okay to me. Not the best I've heard but not the worst either. The UI is awful though. But someone pointed out to me that this is an Ableton synth ripoff called ''Ableton Analog''. It's the exact same interface hehe
@@googleuser318 yeah it doesn't sound that bad. I actually think it sounds quite good tbh. But yeah that blue screen interface is baaaad haha In Ableton it make sense I guess, they should've put knobs instead of just making it the same.
I feel even Odin2 is nicer. not found any usage for this for these and all my payed ones and stuff what comes with my Daw.(i also payed buyed but not payed separely them)
Yeah the UI is bad...but someone just told me that it's a knob for knob rippoff of Abletons Analog vst haha It took me 2-3 hours to get registered, the website was SLOW and probably flooded with requests.
To me, this plugin sounds somewhat similar to Subtractor in Reason, back in the early 2000's. It can sound okay with effects, but dry it's not very good. It's actually one of the worst analog emulations I've heard in quite a few years. Analog has never sounded as cold and shrill as when done by Behringer.
haha! well I never used Subtractor. I'll check that out. But I think Vintage doesn't sound THAT bad. I've heard emulations that sounded way worst than that.
@@Tonepusher I may have sounded harsh, but it's worth keeping in mind that in many cases, effects are 9/10 of a sound. Many vintage hardware synths sound really boring when played dry. Add some chorus and reverb and they sound like a million dollars. And the Behringer Vintage VST is free... That's a big plus, especially for people on a budget. You can get the TAL-Chorus-LX and TAL-Reverb-4 for free as well, and suddenly things sound a whole lot different. Will it ever sound analog? Probably not, but it can still sound good in a mix.
@@rebeccaschade3987 oh I 100% agree, I tried it with Tal-Chorus-lX+Valhalla Supermassive and it sounded suuuper good hehe Tbh I think it sounds good, the BIG downside for me is the Interface. The blue screen menu is...questionable lol I would've preferred knobs. Too many clicks for nothing.
We spent years waiting for new better sounding synths and what do they do but release the same old stuff we hated when it was new. And now they call it vintage or classic. It sucked then and it sucks now.
Yeah well I don't think it suck but I do think that it feels like an unfinished product. It sounds good, but I rather go with something else for the same kind of sounds.
@@phreakymusic Ok Well, I may have been extreme there. But this is a trend in our society now. Nobody is inventing anything anymore. Take Boss, for example, they keep packaging up their old stuff into things and call it new. Where are the great inventors of OUR time. Everything is repackaged old stuff.
lol yeah it wouldn't make sense with the whole business mission and vision. They don't want to sell it $99usd though, they're saying that it's worth 99. Which I think is overpriced hehe 49 would be better.
