Thanks for the breakdown, Pawel. Yes, it is free, but there are many feee synths that are far more worth the time. U-he Podolski is free and blows this away in sound and controls. Cherry Audios free synths are much more worth the time as well. That said, this is their first offering, so there is still a ton of room for them to be that respectably serviceable cheaper option to the real good stuff, like they are in hardware.
The most recent device is the Objekt physical modelling synthesiser, there's a through tutorial on the Reason Studios channel, I highly recommend watching, the synth is groundbreaking. I heard a whisper that Europa 2.0 is in beta as well.
Appreciate your opinion...as I usually always do. I downloaded it yesterday and it's basically worth the asking price. Nothing ground breaking. I play several instruments and pretty much mostly only go for presets, so this generic offering will likely never see the light of day. But what you said at the end of your review is something I hadn't thought of that made a great point--that this is likely just the beginning of their software development and to stay tuned.
I have no idea who this is for. There are endless alternatives in free polysynths with far better features than this. I get that they're testing the waters to see how much people want behringer branded plugins, but they really should have put more effort into it if they wanted to make an impact. I'm okay with it being bad though, so I don't feel conflicted about supporting behringer like i would if they made something better.
If they would want to make a real 'vintage plugin' then they should do something like the original SimSynth 1.0 which didn't allowed to hear the sound in real-time (render was necessary). Real old-school retro blast ;)

On Behringer's own channel they claim their plugin is available in VST, AU and AAX formats. But there is no AAX version. If they can't get that right what hope is there ?
"It makes a sound". I think that it's all what can be said about it. It reminds me times when I was using TS-404 in FruityLoops 2 :D Planty of free and cheap synths with more features and/or more beefy sound. UI of Vintage is based on a plugin from Ableton which has never been praised for the UI ;) I myself never liked it. IMO plugins like this are waste of time of developer(s) and users. 20 years ago, yeah it would be a blast but today... not so much.
PSST! You wanna freebie that's analogy-goodness? You also want something that does NOT poke the CPU with mandatory FX? Simple architecture? Bro, you gotta check out Synth1. It's been around for a while but it just keeps punching above its weight class -- especially in comparison to this thing! Wait... a Nord-Lead clone not analogy enough? There's another mOAR analogy freebie called OBX-d 3.0. It's even got a real hardware unit for clout to cloud your judgement... but let your ears decide anyways! Methinks that this is Behringer merely going live with a radio PING to the plug-market.
Sorry this sounds like shit. Daichi Labs Synth1, a freeware VA that launched over 20 years ago, beats this thing blindfolded with its hands tied behind its back.
I truly am disappointed at how underwhelming it is. It lacks some basic features, and for a company as famous as Behringer, (love their studio gear and amps) it's kind of unforgivable.
